I was just about to grab a PB-2000. Now I gotta test this out.
Well I was just about to order two SVS PB-2000's on Black Friday but now I'll be keeping my eye on these.
kevinsdb1 the 2000 series is enough, good enough, and why spend so much money 💰 when the option you chose is great. I have dual 2000 s, they are plenty, trust me, why go overboard? Save your money for a power amplifier, or 4K movies, or better yet, put that money away for a rainy day.
Hello Gary fantastic work on your new series. I still amaze myself and friends with your Subwoofer. Now with the new 3000, the game is even stronger and better for more. Excellent.
Thanks Vincent, that means a lot!
I’m using a Denon X6300h avr and Emotiva XPA 3 power amplifier gen 3. I love this power amplifier, it was a must
The PB3000 is a BEAST! Hands down the best sub I’ve ever heard. One day hoping to get a PB6000
Great job! Congratulations to the team at SVS!
Thanks, it's was tough to keep a secret.
I bought 5 of these for my grandmother
No PC3000 is a surprise.
I love the cylinder design.
Yea; its too bad they don't make a cylindrical 16 ultra either.
ryan murphy Good point.
I love my PC4000s. 16 ultras would be like 5’ tall, and something I would have to buy. Lol
Hello. Can the PB 3000 sound and perform exactly the same as the SB 3000 when the ports are covered?
IMO it would be nice to have a true 2 in one subwoofer.
How might the SB 3000 compare to an older Paradigm Servo 15 V2 Subwoofer?
SVS is always on the leading edge in home sub design. This 3000 series provides a couple more options at a great size and price point.
What are the physical specs on the enclosures...?
Thanks, much appreciated, dimensions are below.
SB-3000:
Dimensions (w/ grille): 15.6” (397mm) H X 15.2” (385mm) W X 17.8” (451mm) D
Dimensions (without grille): 15.6” (397mm) H X 15.2” (385mm) W X 15.7” (399mm) D
PB-3000:
Dimensions (w/ grille): 21.9” (557mm) H X 18.3” (465mm) W X 26” (660mm) D
Dimensions (without grille): 21.9” (557mm) H X 18.3” (465mm) W X 23.5” (596mm) D
I have the SB-4000 but had I known these were coming I'd have gotten the PB-3000 instead and saved myself some money honestly. The bass DSP APP settings really don't make or break the sub as my old 10 inch ISD 10 still kicks perfectly without it. The biggest concern is your room acoustics and there's not much you can do if the bass is rattling your walls but you can't hear it.
What I did to eliminate what you describe, and it worked, was to elevate the subs up off the floor. I built stands using a 4' solid Birch butcher block countertop I bought at Home Depot, around $90. I used 3/4 inch pipe nipple, 4 inch lengths, for legs and 3/4 floor flanges for the feet and to mount the nipple to the base. I went over to hardware and bought the 3 or 3.5 inch furniture sliders, the round ones, they fit the bottom of the floor flanges perfectly, which I needed to protect the wood flooring. And just guessing, but they more than likely aid with the sound, as they are very dense felt and foam.
I also have the SVS SoundPath ISO feat on the pair of SB-3000 subs. (These do make a difference, but elevation was key in getting the subs out of the woodwork.)
Elevating the subs has de-coupled the subs from the wood floors and pretty much everything in the room. The subs are still felt, but in a different way, more sonically than through the structure, you really feel it in your bones, and they will still rattle the dishes in the kitchen if you want them too. Tune them in, and the subs disappear, you no longer hear them, you just feel them. One of the reasons I went with Sealed over Ported. The sealed is a much cleaner and tighter sound, no chuff or that boomy sound, particularly with music where the sealed boxes really shine.
Really interested in partnering a sb3000 with my kef ls50 wireless, any body had an experience with this combination? But the UK price is a little high compared to the us
hi Gary,is it made up of heavy duty driver and can it handle well when it comes to reference level?
Hi, I own the sealed Sb 2000 s , they r plenty, plenty of power in a 15 by 25 living room space, I have a 9.2.2 set up. I don’t miss the extra back height Dolby Atmos speakers at all. My space is too small for all of these speakers already, you know what I mean? I have back speakers, side, front towers, front heights, dual subs, I’m fine. In fact, I may be more than fine with a 5.2.2
So how much db at 20hz? I guess around 96db
Wow beautiful products 👌🏻
Can the 3000 series compete with the Monoprice Thx Monolith subs in price and performance??????
They are Great but too bad they cost like 2x pb 2000. 1800 are abit too much here 🙂 think they are worth the value more in USA.
Wait, how does the sub decide to split use of the coils if there is a continuous winding that connects top one to bottom one? Isn't it still a single conductor?
A split wind coil means there is a higher winding density at the ends of the voice coil, around the former. It doesn’t mean there is a physical break in the wiring - even though the term could certainly be misunderstood to mean that. Just that there is not as much coil density between the two poles.
Like I said great job SVS, but can you start making your speakers a bit more sensitive
WHATTTTTTTTT???????? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there a PB 3000 PRO arriving soon?
Sold! You win
I'm a DIY audio engineer, and I don't own your product (wish I did), thanks for this especially getting engineering management to show 3:45, really fascinating research and development. not sure if Tymphany was involved ?
- I really like your new panel design, although I like LCD's for complex menus the single push button switch is very convenient with the tiny led indicator. aesthetically its really neat.
- Nice still using that good AD DSP.
- Would be nice to see a signal clip indicator.
Thanks for the feedback and kind words, that means a lot coming from an audio engineer. We'll pass along your comment about the signal clip indicator to our design team. Thanks for watching!
I've got a svs pb13 ultra around 5 years old, non sledge amp. Would I benefit from 2 smaller subs instead of the single pb13?
Adding two SB-4000s would provide you more even bass and help eliminate the nulls. However, you will lose some headroom in some areas because the PB13 Ultras are ported and more powerful. Plus the equivalent to he PB13 Ultra is the PB-4000. If you didn’t mind a less powerful speaker that hits hard, get the Dual SB-3000s. They hit hard , plus you have the 45 day trial period.
Very good 😱😎👍🔊
Due to room size I need to get a sealed sub as the ported subs are far too big. Am I missing much getting a sealed sub over the ported ?
No. Especially in a smaller room, you can benefit from room gain with a sealed subwoofer, which can boost output and give you deeper low frequency extension. This article helps explain. www.svsound.com/blogs/subwoofer-setup-and-tuning/what-is-subwoofer-room-gain
I would love to have(for music) a high pass filter so one could adjust how low the sub would respond to.For me it would be about 33-34hz to me anything below that is just noise
You can create 3 separate custom presets with the SVS subwoofer app which allows you to adjust settings like low pass filter for music, movies etc and save them so you don't need to update settings when you switch from on kind of content to another.
for 16m3 box do we need 2 of them? Are they better than ESTELON?
rästik Always go with 2. 2 medium ones will always beat 1 big one. Find a solid brand(like SVS) and get 2 of the most expensive you can’t afford.
I have the pb2000 and its powerful enough.
In a 10ft by 8ft bedroom lol. When I place it in a bigger room it sounds so much better.
Exactly, why fix it if it’s not broken
@@lusly258 ?
ported or closed?
Shit. How do these compare with the pc2000? I JUST bought one, haven’t even opened it yet 😭
Bigger driver and more powerful amp so the PB version will go a bit lower with greater output. If you ordered direct from SVS, you can return within 45 days or upgrade within the first year, just email custservice@svsound.com and they'll explain options.
The 2000 is great, don’t worry
Hahaha. You can tell he is like "damn engineers making more affordable products!" :D
Don't get me wrong, I love SVS products, especially subwoofers, but please for the love of your clients record YOUR VIDEOS with other microphones or do something about that clipping.
Try listening to your video to one set of decent headphones or decent stereo...
Thanks for the feedback, we'll do better with the audio in future videos.
I agree
Sounds fine for me watching on ipad pro 12”.
@@benjamindminor7552 yeh u got ipad apple speakers, im on my Swan M200Mkiii+
Is it just raw power over the sb 2000 or even at lower volumes the 3000 will sound better?
Both. You also have the advantage of deeper low frequency extension, and the subwoofer control app.
But in a small room and Home you really don’t need that much bass, it’s over kill, and over price
That looks awesome but why didn't you include an xlr input?
Dual PB-3000 or single PB-16 ultra for movies only??
Really depends on the room layout and seating position, we generally recommend duals when possible.
how does the SB-3000 compared to the PB-1000? (they're about the same size)
The SB-3000 has a more powerful amplifier so it can produce greater dynamic output. It also has a more sophisticated DSP so it's more accurate and has the benefit of the SVS Subwoofer control smartphone app. The PB-1000 can play just about as deep, but the SB-3000 is a superior subwoofer in every other way.
@@SVS_Sound thanks for the detailed reply!
Are you guys making a cylinder model to the 3000 series?
Not in the plans currently, we're staying with the 2000 and 4000 Series cylinders for now. Thanks for asking.
@@SVS_Sound thanks for the reply.... I absolutely love my pc 2000'S by the way 😊👍
Which driver is technologically more advanced - the 3000 series or 4000 series?
Each driver is engineered differently to match their respective cabinet and amplifier designs. In terms of overall performance, the 4000 Series subwoofers will produce greater output and play deeper, so they have the edge in that regard. We have done things with the 3000 Series drivers we've never done before, like the split wind edge wound voice coil, so hard to say one is more advanced than the other.
@@SVS_Sound I currently have a SB3000 and SB4000 in my highrise paired with 5 ML SLM XL for a 5.1 setup. Kind of a tossup between how I feel but thinking it may be the room size that is the limiting factor. Not sure which I want to keep!
Congrats u won $1000!
You just cant beat the performance these subwoofers offer and at an affordable price. If you look at the PB1000, it outperforms some of the 500w £1000 subwoofers that claim 15 hz. They tend to roll off at 30hz where as the pb1000 starts to roll off at 21hz.
Price wise we are looking st £519 and that's half price. Svs offer 5 year unconditional warranty on Electronics too, now which company offers that lol.
I have one word for you:
Rythmik
Blue leds on backside my prayers have been heard
Ha, we listen to our people. Thanks for the feedback!
@@SVS_Sound love it! Cant wait to buy it! I really needed a sb2000 upgrade. And affordable too, this is awsome
Now update the 16 ultra to 5000 series. Increase the amp from 1500 to 2000 rms(paradigms reference 15 inch runs on 2000rms).
Well thank God for restless people go SVS
Hate to ask such a dumb rookie question. But what do you mean by “reference performance “
"Reference" describes audio playback that is as close to the original recording as possible, giving you the most realistic and convincing listening experience. A speaker or subwoofer should be able to reproduce the highest highs and the deepest lows with accuracy and all the dynamic impact a song or movie calls for.
Single sb3000 can shake my 15x25 open living room?
Yes, an SB-3000 is suitable for a room of that size.
I want 2 of the PB-3000's but they're so expensive. What gives? You can buy 2 PB-2000's for almost the same price. Why isn't it the same price as the sealed version? The rest of SVS's line cost the same wether it's sealed or ported.
Hi Andrew - The ported versions of our 2000, 4000, and 16-Ultra all cost more because they are nearly twice the size of the sealed versions. This adds significant costs with materials and handling.
@@SVS_Sound Oh, well the place where I buy my HT equipment sells both sealed and ported for the same price except for the 3000 series. I still don't understand why the 3000 series is such a leap from the 2000 series in pricing though.
It's a completely new amplifier platform and driver design, plus the app control so there's a lot more new technology in the 3000s. That said, if dual PB-2000s are in your budget, you'll be thrilled with the experience.
@@SVS_Sound Appreciate the reply but I've gone with dual Rythmik FV15's, much better value.
Dayummmm
Crap....I just took delivery of a pair of PB2000....wish I had known these were coming I would have waited
#upgradeitus wait a year and upgrade, svs has a great trade in program.
0BURNT0TOAST0 sadly I don’t think that applies to Australia :(
I'm sure you will be happy, I'm stoked with mine so far. I just took delivery of 2 SB-2000 late October.
So what's the price on the pb3000?
$1399.99 if you're in the U.S. If outside the U.S., please let us know your location and we can provide information for our distributor.
@@SVS_Soundmisunderstood info. I thought I would be under 1k. Thanks for clarifying
Congrats you won 1000 dollars from The Ace Family!!
LOLL
@@glenncoco6676 😂😂
O my dood
The PB-3000 isn't priced right. For instance if you look at the 2000 series the SB is $700 and the PB is $800, so 14.3% more for the PB. For the 4000 series the PB is 26.7% more and for the 16 Ultra the PB is 25% more. When you do the math for the 3000 series the PB is 40% more, WOW! The PB should have been between $1,150 to $1,300.
I want Servo technology, no servo, no buy
This. Also, every setup should have something to calibrate the frequency response to flat and EQ to user tastes from there, like the MiniDSP.
Why is SVS so expensive in germany ? PB 2000 is at 1000€.Great products, but in germany 20% more expensive than in USA .
Taxes and shipping
999 in the us .. lile 1550 in sweden :(
US often lists price without VAT. In Europe, we list prices including VAT so actual price difference is less than it seems at first glance.
@@Bork0r oh thats right, forgot about that
someday your engineers will learn about the technology of a passive radiator, long-throw subwoofer, and then they will make a really good subwoofer. )
No balanced input? thats a shame
It’s not really under 1000$
Yeah really, and the PB is $1400 plus tax. 😂
Bring back the manual knobs and ditch the lazy man phone apps .
Its only good for disabled folks not that there is anything wrong with that .
Almost considered buying the dual magnets are a wise move yeah buddy .
There are rear panel controls as well.
even the ultra series sealed box is not the best at the price point when it come to sound quality, so the 3000 is going to be worse than that?
on top of that you don't get a remote and have to fiddle around on your phone, i bet you still set some low extension at 15hz anyways, svs never had sound quality and ease of use as main target, they try to do everything, like adding home cinema rumble and power at the cost of pure music quality. its not for the audiophile user but the new young folks that love to stare at their phone and rumble bass. this is going the wrong way and they know it, they know compromises to sound quality is being made even on the sealed model. i do not even count the ported model seriously as anything useful
Youre stupid as hell
whats your reasoning behind that statement? I am genuinely interested which subwoofers offer a better sound/cost ratio? I never heard svs subs, but they surely have great reviews.
666NB666 JTR, Seaton Sounds, PSA, Rythmik Audio, Hsu Research
Do you own SVS? I have owned klipsch, yamaha, jl Audio, JBL, Sonycrap, JTR, and a quit buying subs once i owned the SVS PB4000, great great great sub. Whatz even better then the svs pb4000 you may ask? Two svs pb4000
jonathan nava you’ve owned JTR ?
