Oh gosh. That room is a dream. I've got nowhere near enough money for even an eighth of those supplies, but they're all so beautiful, oh my gosh. That is my heaven.
Thanks for sharing this! :D
So sorry this video is up late today. When I tried to upload it last night it told me it was going to take 381 minutes to upload (600 for part 2).
But it's up now. Hope you like it :)
I love roaming through art stores, just looking and touching various objects and dreaming about what I'd use it for, and your room is like the exact place I would spend hours just rummaging through... eh, that sounds weird. Nevermind :P
Same! I got a small room
+Karen Garcia right :o her room is amazing
SAME OMG
Kiki G sameeeeee, you get me
Just rummaging through her drawers of thick marker pens.
I've already posted the drawing of Sloth on my Blog (link in the description box) :)
Loving the spring so far. Made me feel a million times happier :)
This video was really helpful because I have been needing art supplies but have not been sure were to get some that other artist think are great to use. You are one of my favourite youtubers and your tutorials are amazing.
Your voice is so calming!
I just like the sound of paint brushes being rummaging around. It is so satisfying.
Paper Clay is great for making molded shapes. For example: I have an very open fillagree heart pendant. I rolled out the paper clay to the desired thickness, took the pendant and pressed it into the clay. Cooked it in the oven and painted it. It's lightweight and makes wonderful designs for cards and multi-media artwork. I've also made plaques by making impressions with rubber stamps. You can also use in regular clay molds.
I thought I was the only one using clay shapers for blending and details!
You are so inspiring, I love seeing your creations
That vase with the mosaic stones on it looks fascinating, by the way.
And I like watching storage stuff like this, though mine isn't really organised much but more all over the place xD
Your obvious dedication to art is very inspiring!
Also, for those metal drawers, if you can find a reuse center nearby you that'd be the place to go to find them REALLY cheap. I know a lot of larger universities have them, for example I go to the one the UofM has. You could probably pick up one of those for less than 50 there. I got a nice computer chair for $5 (it was a $10 buy one get one free my friend and I took advantage of) that still had all the tags on it!
This gives me such inspiration for finally sorting out my art supplies! I have draws and storage but nothing is organised and I never know where anything is
You are so talented and man, your voice is so nice to listen to!
I love the works, it's AMAZING!!!
I always watch this video. I especially like it when you go through what you have in your draws. I am starting my own collection. Hope you don't mind me copying, but you are very inspiring.
Those metal drawers are a great idea and exactly what I need. Thanks for the video!
I've been waiting forever for this. Thanks Klaire.
Art collection goals!
Now You Tube is my job, but the majority of this was bought when I was doing my art A-levels and graphic design, and it's something I've always loved so I invest in it :)
boy you got alot of stuff..... AND I LUV EVERY SINGLE BIT!
Before I started college I was sent a list of things I needed to get for class, I went to an art store and although I only got a few things it cost me £200. We were then given things from college which came from another art store and I added everything up and it came to about £300. Art isn't cheap! Thank god for The Works!!!
I have that exact pink card box you've got on top of your filing cabinet. I use it to store old family photos :)
I love the works!
Wow your AMAZING at art!
So true about keeping things out, I keep my really big sheets of paper in a box under my bed and half the time I forget they even exist, same for any art supply.
This is an awesome walkthrough. I seriously.... you are so organized! I mean- I'm organized with my suppies to a *point*- but YOU are like- geez. Fascinating. I would have asked you to do a video like this but I would have assumed you'd say no :)
Haha I wouldn't mind that. Flippin' love that shop!
I literally adore promarkers - I have the extension caps and all. I've collected them over time :)
you are just amazing... and inspiration.... although i even after trying many times i am just not able to be good at drawing.. i am just moody... when i am in mood i can draw better than what i normally do... but you are superb cant ever dream of even getting near your skills... even in make up artistry...
Lots of Love...
Swati
That's really cool :) I love your videos!
It would be amazing if you could a few tutorials on pro markers and how to use them thanks love ya 😜 xx
When I work on something I don't like to stop till its finished, I'm extremely critical of my own work and it I stop and leave a few days in between painting something I start to hate it and never get it finished.
Not to mention I get a mild reaction to some oil paints which makes my face swell up, not fun haha :)
I've linked it at the end of the video (I'm just writing up the blog post for it before I make it live)
if you want to make a masquerade mask you should try using cold porcelain! you could easily make some at home and it self dries, so you don't need to go through the hassle of baking it!
She's super organised!!
I love this collection.
You've made me wanna become an artist!!!
I make my own birthday cards too and people really appreciate it :)
No way! I thought I was the only weirdo who stored 'junk' for upcycling like sweet wrappers and such. Yey! I'm not alone! :)
You're a great bargain hunter too. Really appreciate you sharing where's cheapest to get specific things. Like I have only one pro marker, coz they're so expensive.
it's so neat and tidy!!
You listed all my favourite mediums :P. I don't really like pastels but I always thought pastel pencils would be easier to use. My dad always used to say I was crazy collecting all the sweet wrappers but now I know other people do it too :D
Wow! Thank you for uploading this :D
Wonderful! Thanksfor sharing us.
Lovely supplies 😊
You could read the phone book and I would watch; your voice is AWESOME
I have about 20 promarkers, I wish they were less expensive but I do love them and use them a lot :) really interesting video
I love The Works! I get most of my books from there are they are so reasonably priced :)
I have those same chocolate wrappers in with my supplies!
I think your drawers look professional! :)
Btw could you do a blog or perhaps a video on your Chinese and Japanese art stuff?
please can you do a pro marker review! they look really cool and I'd loved to see the way you use them ! I loved this video by the way
Thanks, I'll keep looking, would love to organise my stuff like this! :)
I love shopping at The Works!!
I wish, do wish I'd ever be this organized... I probably wish it even more than I wish to be half as talented as you are. LOL :)
I have the same inks :) They're really nice and easy to use.
I have the same glasses as yu! - all the way from Australia x
Palette knifes are great for Impasto painting, not just mixing :) You have like my dream art collection!!!
this is going to sound so weird, but i could listen to you talking for hours, you have a lovely voice :)
bit and bobs ;)
When you showed these metallic candy liners I was like "these look like ferrero rocher liners... But no, they are probably not sold in the uk" then you said they were ferrero rochers :P
Awesome collection ;) Makes me wanna paint and do more art, but also makes me feel guilty for doing that so rarely...
Pastels are my favorite! I use oil pastels and I like layering them..my pastel paintings are always really think and I basically live with the pastels stuck in my fingernails from rubbing it on and scraping it off
Your art collection.. i died. lol. it's so awesome!:D i want to have one like that one day. i have a pretty small one right now, it is a work in progress(:
I completely agree with you, Klaire. So many beauty gurus expose to much of their private life on CZcams and I'm really glad you don't do that :)
i love the works that where i gat ALL my art supplies
I really liked this video!
Btw, maybe, when you do get a chance to make those cards, you could use some of them in a giveaway? That would be so awesome!
i got a wood desk just like that and it has about 10 year s and it looks as good as new you just have to take care of it
so inspiring
so very organized.... this is what i dream my office would be like...
I don't know anything about air brushes, but why don't you have your compresser in your airbrush drawer instead of your bits and bobs drawer? Great video by the way!
WOW! SO SO JELLY.
I love using those quality street rappers! I made half my window a stain glass window :)
I'm currently studying Graphic Design in college and I love it, had no idea you were also studying it :) I'm planning on going UNI myself and continuing Graphics, would you say it's worth while? I'm still slightly in the dark about courses related to Graphics.
Anyway, your collection is fantastic! I strive to one day have many art supplies, so I can make much more diverse artwork from home. I fantasize on having a huge room just full of my materials, where I can spend all day being happy! :D
What about linking the sites from where you've got your art supplies?
I will do - thanks so much Klaire! I have a feeling you're gonna save me a lot of money in the future, hehe. Bargain-hunters unite! :D
is like your art your work? cause you are really good!
I have lots of art supplies, but I'm always apprehensive to use things like pastels because I'm afraid of running out of 1 color from a set hahaha
yes, they are sold in the uk.
Ah I love watercolor and pencil too. I used to really love pastels but I've started disliking them recently. You've inspired me to start uploading my drawings though because it's so scary, but in a way, why not? Haha I wanted to ask if you knew of a paint to get the metallic foil look. I wanted to add something metallic to one of my watercolors and I was going to use metallic arylic paint, but it looks more shimmy, and not foil reflective.
Not good to store the big sheets vertically for longer time.
***** They can bend after a bit near the bottom (I've had a lot of pieces do that), but I don't think they stay there for that long if you art as much as she does.
Not sure. Could also be quality of the paper or how tightly stacked they are... mine were somewhat loose.
Also another question, out of curiosity, why acrylics over oil? I've been fiddling with both for a long time, and I can't really pick which one I prefer. I've been using oil for longer than acrylics though.
I love The Works as well!! Thought i was the only one :L I've never bought their paint though. Is it a good quality? :3
This is soooo awesome, how much has everything together cost approximately?
Hey Klaire, do you have any suggestions on what to use to paint mist/fog? I don't have the money for an airbrush compressor and I really want to make some misty nature paintings~~~
I'm aiming to :)
Makes me wanna draw :)
Yes :)
Watching this makes me want to buy a bunch of those really kewl markers and draw....
is there an online site for the works, because where I live I only have michaels and the stuff there can get really expensive
Thankyou, which ones are they?
U said u purchased ur drawers at staple, what is the actual item name so that I can look it up on their site, please. Thanks.
Inspirational. I want to have this too :(
Wher can I find part 2 I'm on my iPad and it doesn't let me follow video links thanks x :)
Can you please share your books on japanese and chinese art?? Thank you xxx
will you show us your makeup collection?
I always post a new video every friday so you've probably missed a few uploads :)
is there a works in london ? because I'm going with my school to london and if it's close to where I'm going I might pass by that shop
If you ever get the chance, would it be possible to do a tutorial for using promarkers? I know they're good for blending, but have no idea how to use them! :)
Where can I find par 2 because I'm watching on an iPad ? Thanks x
So glad to hear that :)
I think you should be sponsored by The Works :L
Great video :)
art is very expensive!
how you estimate that you invested in all this.
