in a 3 hr plane flight, got an entire bag of skittles to meself, got some warhammer videos on me laptop, today is a good day.
ok just found out im flying on a 737 max pray for me
🙏
@@bigboi193should've taken the landspeeder.
Same situation for me tomorrow, flying to Corfu. I hope the enginseers have the correct incense and unguents.
As a kid, I played a 3-player game with my two younger brothers. My youngest brother flew his Ravenwing Landspeeder directly into the middle of my other brother's orks. It shot the Ork Skorcha with the assualt cannon and the fuel tank exploded. He then rolled double 6s for the range of the explosion and suddenly EVERY SINGLE ORK was on fire. 😂
Awesome
😂
I remember building this as a kid in the kitchen, dropping it and gouging a hole in the lino floor, mum was livid 😂
😅😬
Hefty bit of kit wasn’t they!
Yep built to last 😂
Like a potato peeler, it would be considered a deadly weapon in the UK today.
I'd love to see a 90's style kitbashed Roboute Guilliman standing off to the side, proudly waving his 'Eavy metal troops away to battle.
But then I would need to come up with something original rather than outright copying
Saw the video title and immediately had 'Land Speeder, Speeder of Land' as an earworm. Get to the end of the video and was not disappointed. Also beautiful job on the model.
🤩
I have no interest in painting or playing old hammer but I love the journey your videos take us on. From technical, to lore, to paint. it's always interesting and entertaining.
thank you for your comment! YES it is this Mr. miniscape Style =)
Saw the video, first thought "Land Speeder-The Speeder of Land", starts Video, first Sentence "The Land speeder- The Speeder of Land"- Love this channel!
Haha same!
Me too xD
The Speeder of Land
flys over rocks
and even over sand =)
wellcome to miniscape Land!
This is not possible for everyone: I have a machinist friend that made me steel stands for my Land Speeders and other models that are on stands. The rod is threaded into the base. He glued in a threaded brass insert into the models. The rod then can be screwed into the model. It all comes apart for easy storage. It is super strong and stable because of the weight of the steel base. I advise anyone that has a lot of these type models to make friends with a machinist, or become a machinist.
Back in the day brass rods were a must for a lot of vehicles and some bigger models.
@@bigpoppa1234 plastic is definitely not good for this. Especially if you actually are going to use the models on the table top in games.
I like the new addition to the army of dreams, seatbelts are definately a must on those earlier variants. I imagine the servitors giving it a wax and polish humming along to those catchy imperial tunes.
I bought an old Ravenwing metal land speeder for similar reasons. Although I'm doing a Mantis Warriors as Ravenwing (no white scars, seemed close enough). I used a paint brush for the stand!
I still have half of these, and a land speeder in the same condition. I'm so making a 2nd ed army myself now!
Ah the old foundation paints, i miss these.
Brittle flight stands were always a problem. Absolutely lovely work here!
Many thanks!
They were built to snap off at the most inconvenient time, hope you brought your hobby repair kit!
YOU CAME OUT OF LEFT FIELD AND KNOCKED ME OUT WITH "ARKHAN SPEED"!!!
Shocked yours wasn’t a bent twisted mess like mine. This was the model that made me swear off metal minis for the rest of my life
The 2nd edition army is looking pretty awesome there. I grew up in small town America, so back then the only way I ever got to see this stuff back then was in the pages of magazines like InQuest. Seeing you fulfill the childhood dream is great and I get it man. Keep it up
I can't wait for the Compliation Album. Groovy tunes! ❤😂
Sweet model as well. You and I, Matt, are in about the same place with what we like in the hobby from what I see. Great content, sir!
Yes mate. I am glad there is someone else 😉
I still have one of these in a state of part built, it was part of a full squad.
6 bike mounted marines +1 Attack Bike +1 Speeder = 10 Man Squad.
I need to paint them....
That is cool. When (if) I do my dream 2nd edition Imperial Fists army I might do a full assault squad like that. You can upgrade one of them into a sergant right? (I have my old 2nd editon books but they are in a box somewhere).
@@mcstabba I have the Sergeant with powersword onbike, as thats how he came in box
I have most of the parts for two of those in my bitz bag (I have no idea how because I am an ork). You have inspired me to loot them and use them in my 2nd edition Deffskull list.
And by the way, I love your content.
Thank you 😊 good luck with your project. Sounds great.
Love watching your journey of collecting and painting all these minis of my youth! Can't wait for the next video!
Glad you like them!
My only suggestions are two minor improvements. One, a series of flat haired brushes, and two, an egg shaker or finger-drum percussion for your gloriously triumphant songs!
🫡 adding a drum to my birthday list
beautiful, i love watching these retro mini restorations
Glad you like them!
great work with the painting. the old models and paintscheme with all its vibrant colors really puts the core back to them. I will do the same when I have time to paint again.
Thanks so much. Hope you do get the time.
Now this was a real treat
Wow this brings me back. I thought metal dreadnoughts were tough to make until I tried building ones of these bad boys. Stuck my fingers together several times. Each night.
That beautiful lump of metal is turning 30 soon, well done on giving it new life!
Good thing Arkhan didn't discover any aquatic species or found any countries, that would be hella confusing.
I remember having some of the old Dreadnaughts, heavy enough to be a serious weapon if thrown with purpose!
Still got a metal brick in Blood angels livery and a Og metal Bjorn.
I adore them.
The question of who discovered the Land Speeder reminded me of the 80s' film, "Jake Speed". I was tickled to find that there is a tangential link between the film and 40k, as the film was reviewed in White Dwarf. According to Wikipedia, "Alex Stewart reviewed Jake Speed for White Dwarf #83, and stated that "Until John Hurt turns up, having fun being a sleazy villain, the cast hang about, wondering what to say to each other. The result is surely the dullest and least speedy caper movie ever.""
Thanks for another fun video.
That is a tenuous link if I ever heard one but thanks for sharing 😅
I love the classic colors
Great job! Those hunks of metal broke many flight stands...
That yellow looks so good
This is such nostalgia bait my dude hahahaha. They look awesome!
Love watching your videos you're the Bob Ross of retro miniatures
And you sir are too kind, thank you 😊
Silly dark angels? SILLY DARK ANGELS!
I suppose they’re a little silly, yeah.
Excellent job. That cross hair was a nice touch. Your ultramarines are becoming formidable.
Not warhammer related, but I crumped a squirrel in my attic with a tomahawk this morning.
Not related, but I crumped a puppy in my kitchen this evening. Took a while to cook tender
Beutiful model, beutiful paintjob, beutiful song.
7:29 Slaanesh is pleased with this hobby technique.
My ... Holy passage?
I almost hesitate to post this after the effort you put in, but the heavy flamer is meant to be set further back, the gunner's gauntlets aligned so he is gripping the rear handles.
And as to the 2nd edition kit, I assembled mine long ago, painted in my first chapter, the Doom Eagles. When the 3rd edition plastic one came out, we purchased many, and and my lone metal land speeder looked a bit odd among them. Ended up swapping and converting it into a Genestealer Cult version, complete with Tallarn crew, heavy bolter and plasma gun.
Doh. I see that now. I had better fix it. Cheers.
Laudable, truly. Thank you
Land Speeder: The Reserection ! ! !
Looks lovely. Great job.
I have never seen the 2nd Edition Land speeder pilot helmets! I would make an entire army with those helms if I could!
Are you utilizing magnification while you paint or just for filming?
A great addition to the collection!
Small and nimble, it will be forever missed. Enormous gunbrick that is the Storm Speeder will never be a good substitute.
I agree. Thanks.
These old models are so great.
Vary nice job, sir. I love how you do what you do. The old speeder is a tough model to make look good 👍
Always chuckled at those models with the Heavy Flamers on.
whilst i'm following your guides for my own chaos army, I must say I'm kinda tempted to paint my heresy beakies as ultramarines following your painting scheme just because it looks so retrotastic ;)
I would be honored if you did and I would love to see what you come up with 😊
Greetings and Salutations! Enjoyable as always. I had one of these abominations. I sold it eventually. I find that making flying models in metal is a really bad idea. I eventually replaced it with the 3rd Ed plastic version, and armed it with an Assault Cannon and a Stormbolter. It serves with my Dark Angels. All the best to you, Billi.
I never realized how detailed this kit is.
This channel is cosmic jazz.
🤩
Love the video, paint brush handles are great for flying bases but I would suggest buying the clear acrylic ones. :)
I recently refurbished one and it was a killer to put together. Metal stand & base recommended. Love the video
The first vehicle kit I owned! And mine was lead, so it was too heavy for the ridiculously inadequate base and broke almost immediately! IIRC, this was released in 95 (Call It Love by Deuce was in the Charts at the time, Google says '95).
I've got two on the go right now, using the DM rules to replace with HB's and AC's of course! 😈
95 then. I got dates between 93 and 95 so I went in the middle like the model said, which was probably just when it was sculpted rather than released.
Love the slow jazz, very Charley Brownish.
hey, hallo, thank you for that weekend video ! got a metal gargbot aside me to watch toooooo =)
greetings
CU
Seriously impressive paint job! wow! it looks great and you really upped your details game. I can only imagine how proud your are of your collection. This army is legendary!
Each time I watch your videos I am inspired to keep going with my own army, so thank you, and I really hope you will find someone to play against, because it would be beautiful, especially with the amazing terrain pieces you made previously :)
Thank you for your kind words ☺️
Ive found that brass tube from hobby shops work as an ideal flying stand peg substitute, obviously you have to paint it. They are great for flying minis you're gonna play with and are super easy to work with. They can also be cut and shaped with hobby files.
Very nicely done.👍
Awesome paint job!
Thank you ☺️
i like the proportions a lot more than the new one. It's like a hovering rollercoaster cart with a gun on it.
😅 yes
Thanks to You and Your glorious minis - I feel a kid again :)
🤩
The landspeeder , Speeder of Land , is FIRE !!!!🤩 PMSL 😂 at the Anxiety, Tearing up a Treasured Relic comment, it made my day, dont ever stop being AWESOME BROTHER, all the best from the Gold Coast Australia 😉
Thank you my friend. Glad you enjoyed it. Take care 😊
Very nice!
Oh i wish I had mine, and all the second ed codexes to read.
Proper job fixing it up for service mate.
Thanks 😊
Use them with the OPR ruleset, trust me, it's a blast.
Finally ASMRspeeder
Nice! I wasn’t sure about that base but it ended up looking great. ❤️
Wonderful as always
Man I love these restorations! Fantastic job!
Thank you very much!
My first spacemarine vehicle. Thanks
Such a great model.
Looks awesome!
I used to have one of the old broomstick land speeders, but I traded it to somebody long ago.
I do still have the metal shoebox land speeder though. And a newer plastic one painted in the same chapter colours.
I love 💕 your attention to details ❤
Imperial fist contrast is a great paint
Nono, green is good. Green is the 4th, the best, company.
Lovely, just like your voice.
☺️
I use Mechanicus Standard Grey to lighten thing up a bit over blak prime.
This helps out with lighter colors er, colours on the panels etc.
Look fantastic!
Thank you
So jealous. i wish i could paint like you can.
Thank you. I suppose I just practise a lot.
Really enjoy your videos man. Don't know how you don't have more subs
Thank you. Maybe not everyone agrees with you 😅 do share with your friends about my channel 😉 thanks buddy. Best wishes.
Not many people know this but it’s called a Land Speeder because it was discovered by Arkhan Speeder.
🫡
Looks great and gives me some ideas or painting my modern Ultras. I'm trying out caledor sky as a broad highlight color over the normal Macragge blue for larger upper-facing panels on my dreadnaught
Awesome!!!
Epic paint job 👍
Thank you
You never fail to pleasw
Aw thanks
I admit, I did guffaw at the "Arkhan Speed" bit
His full name is Arkhan Speedstick
@@amoryburgess Arkhan Speedstick Jr Esq
@@thefreshwaterpirate That's Arkan von Celeritasbaculus in High Gothic.
gorgeous
Slick!
Awesome work on that land speeder Matthew, and while I haven't commented on your recent chaos projects....damn i do admit that the old way of mixing and matching units from different factions in a chaos undivided army is uniquely tempting, i may even consider that for a future project now.
More importantly perhaps, i don't know if this was deliberate or not, but your narration is starting to tread into this ASMR sorta territory in my opinion lol, and wouldn't that just add a new feather to your cap? You already have the 40k-inspired music thing going.....40k-inspired ASMR just seems like a logical side gig now if you ask me, so keep that in your back pocket ar least I'd say.
Keep up the quality content! Great work as always!
Thank you so much for those words. It's nice to be appreciated. Apparently my voice isn't at the acceptable standard (check other comments 😉) but if I help people to chill out then maybe I should diversify. If I was to do ASMR, I am not sure what I would say. Anyway thanks for watching and best wishes ☺️

That would be a fun rule. When the Speeder dies and does not explode roll a D6. 1-4 nothing happens, on a 5 place a single Assault Marine within three inches of the Speeders last location, on a 6 you place two Assault Marines within three inches of the Speeders last location.
I get Ahoy vibes from this vid.
Add to the Guilliman comement last mentioned, id love to see him paint up a Thunderhawk in 2nd edition Ulramarines Blue!!!!
Epic scale only I'm afraid
Great video
Thank you 😊
Another hreat video mate.
Thank you very much 😊
Make a video about your primaris ultramarines please.
I'll add it to the list. Any focus in particular?
I thought the same thing. 👍
Jet powered easy chair...hooh rah...!
Looks great. But I think the flamer is mounted too far forward?
👍
All their weapons look like Super Soaker squirt guns, yep, 2nd edition 40k.
I thought his name was Arken Raider !
