Lol. I have a €20 keyboard for my Xbox (too broke for a pc) and that's what I've been living with for about a year. I only _really_ kind of got into keyboards this year, so for half a year that was completely normal to me.

I recently got my first mechanical keyboard, it is a cooler master mk730, it has cherry mx reds, I also replaced the keycaps for hyperx pudding keycaps, which look really nice with the rgb, before I had some cheap membrane havit keyboard lol

Outemu switches are garbo. They have a terrible spring echo that makes you as insane as tinnitus
I use the sk61 with gateron optical yellow's, sounds insanely good.
I prefer the blue switches, because I like the cilcky sound

i like the sound of the Apex Pro. I wonder what it would sound like with lubed stabilizers. But the problem is that the omnipoint switches are soldered in. So, you would have to desolder the stabs as well, i suppose.

Mostly what matters in my opinion are the switches and keycaps. That's one reason I like mechanical keyboards like the gk61 so you can mod them easily and make them even better
thats not very true because the materials that the case is made of can create a totaly different sound signiture.

@@Deeznutz... You know how when you press on a spacebar, it has that rattle noise? That’s because of the stabilizer wires interacting with and moving alot in stabilizer housing.
(Also before I say anything, get screwn in stabilizers. They screw into the pcb and are much better and more firm than clip in and plate mount stabilizers. Durock v2 screw in stabilizers are probably one of the best stabilizers on the market).
You lube the wires it reduce that wire and plastic interference and the housing and stem too to keep it smooth and frictionless. The most popular options for this is dielectric grease and krytox 205g0. Dielectric grease you only use on wires and krytox for housings.
Other people like me just use krytox. For me it’s because I do the holee mod. Its basically where you insert a small strip of a bandaid in the stem around where the wires goes to make the stabilizers sound a lot better and have less rattle. When you use dielectric grease on the wires with the holee mod, it gets a bit too mushy because of how thick dielectric grease already is.
Now some stabilizer stems have some fang things on the bottom that don’t make it entirely flat. I kinda forgot what they’re for, but it’s better to just remove them since flat is better. I just cut them off with my flesh cutter.
Now there’s also bandaid modding. It’s basically where you put a bandaid around where the stabilizer sits on the pcb and put some lube like dielectric grease to reduce the sound of the stabilizer hitting against the pcb. I personally use UpgradeKeyboard’s 5mm stab pads for screw in stabilizers instead. They’re better at least in my experience and are easier to work with since you don’t need to lube them.
There are more mods you can do, but these are the main ones and the ones I do.

I have a HyperX Alloy Orgins 60% and it does the job well, doesn't cost more than 120 dollars and does the job, sounds very identical to your steel series apex pro.
