This song is the epitome of what true love feels like. Being in awe of the one you are with even in the most simple moments.
And I love that you guys are 2 old souls in young men bodies. I’m only 31 but even as a kid I would get lost in songs like these. Great reaction.

This was written about Patti Boyd. She was married to George Harrison when he fell in love with her. He wrote Layla during that time. Eventually she left George for Eric, although they later divorced. A least ten songs from George, Eric, and The Beatles were written, or inspired by her. Something by George is another great love song about her.

I don't think there is a bad version of this song, but one version, the "official live version," features a girl vocalist (Katie Kissoon) . Without words, her voice will carry the emotions of this song through your body and bring you to tears .

This is why I'm such a Clapton fan. He might not be the fastes or the most ferocious on a guitar, but the emotions he can pull out of that instument.. Damn.. I don't know what else to say. :)

Eric's most recognizable song was as a member of Cream, that song being 'Sunshine of Your Love.' Once Jimi Hendrix went to England and blew everyone's mind, all guitarists immediately sounded different chasing his other earthly vibe attic. Cream's 2nd album, 'Disreali Gears' is the product of this rewiring. 'Sunshine of Your Love' is it's flagship.

This is part of an unofficial trilogy of love songs written about Pattie Boyd who was George Harrison’s wife before she went on to marry Eric Clapton. The other two songs are Something by The Beatles(Written and sang by Harrison) and Layla by Derrick and the Dominoes(Written and sang by Clapton). Both of you guys have to check these songs. Trust me you won’t regret it.

Nice reaction guys Eric "slow hand" Clapton is a true legend of British Blues, along with, Jimmy Page, Peter Green and Jeff Beck. The song was written about Pattie Boyed who was married to Eric, she is unique in having 2 of the most beautiful songs of all time written about her, this and Something by George Harrison who was also married to her.

Love Eric Clapton❤️. SRV was one of Clapton’s favorite guitarist. In fact they were in concert the night that SRV was killed 🥲. Part of Clapton’s crew was on the helicopter with SRV. 🥲. Would you consider revisiting SRV? Maybe Life Without You live from the Capitol Theater to see SRV break his tooth near the end of the song. He just grins at his crew off stage and mouths “lost my tooth...gone”.

Oh guys you are doing a great job here! Truly listening and reacting to the songs. If you want to see and listen the best riff ever and Eric Clapton killing the guitar just watch Layla - Live concert (about 8 minutes). You see Eric Clapton is not a show off. He plays every note with a melodic and powerful meaning, really calm and brilliant. And for that reason he is one of the best of the best. And another suggestion is the duet Eric Clapton and B.B. King - The thrill is gone. For that there is also a live version with 4 (imagine that) top world class guitarists (BB King, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Jimmi Vaughn). And I am sure you will open up another rabbit hole with B.B King first! Trust me for these 2 ones (musicologist here and music teacher). Keep up the great work. You keep us good company through quarantine. Greetings from Greece!
