- Our last tent was ruined by our really bad winds up here in the mountains, time for a new one! After poring over every offering on Amazon and local stores we found the CORE 10-Person Lighted Instant Cabin Tent on sale at Costco and jumped on it.
So far, the only problem I've found is a short in one of the lights. - Jak na to + styl
Good job and great instructions. Thank you Sir.
Thanks for doing the video, and thats a cool cat!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching!
Thnk you
I bought the Colman instant tent that you are talking about! I returned it because it was hard to but up as 1 person and flimsy! Felt like mild wind would blow it over
Sorry to hear that. Mine has held up great and I've had it up in all kinds of weather conditions now.
Good video! The other tent review had this screaming kid that made it obnoxious but I prefer this one. Keep it up
Thanks for watching! I can't promise I won't be obnoxious but no screaming kids!
Thanks for sharing. I am looking for something that I could set up by myself if necessary, and you proved it can be done. But I was hoping to see it also taken down and packed away?
I'll try to record it sometime but it comes down just as easy or easier. I just finished a long trip with it and it worked great.
Check out my newer videos! :)
They r really easy to take down too
Thanks for the review. Question about the Coleman you speak of, was that by chance the Coleman 10-person instant up too? I was so on the fence between Coleman and this Core. Right now I bought the Coleman but debating cancelling and getting this Core as they are relatively the same price. I'm wondering if the porch space is part of the 14 x 10 which both tents are supposedly the same. My reasons of pros and cons:
Coleman
Pro:
Dark Tech - really want this as I need darkness to sleep. Also supposedly provides heat protection/dissipation. If Core had this, I'd jump on getting the Core honestly.
Free Standing - nice feature
Tub lining
Supposedly the waterproofing is better than the Core
Hinge door
Larger Windows
Better separator door
Cons:
No porch
No built in lights
1 top hub vs 3 on Core which makes it more slanted, not as straight, reducing living space
Not as well built as Core
Core:
Pros:
Built in Lights
3 main top hubs vs 1 on Coleman
2 bottom Vents
Built better mechanism wise for instant up
Cons:
No tub lining
No dark tech
Not free standing
lackluster room separator
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
The other one was a Coleman Tenaya Lake Fast Pitch. It was smaller but worked fine. The closets were handy but made it a PITA to set up. The porch space on the Core is included in the dimensions but it really is part of the tent. You can't really go wrong with either brand.
@@griddleporn7368 Thank you very much for the reply and again for your review!
Hi. Thanks for the review. Have you gotten any rain with it ?
One light rain so far and it did fine. I'm still going to add seam sealer just to be safe, though. Thanks for watching!
At first I thought the cat was a coon😂😂😂, but sir before anything seam seal your tent. I have the exact same tent. Very good tent, but seam seal it.
Hi I saw and took pictures of it there. I love the price $269.99 what a bargain for a 14ft.x10ft x 6.5ft tent. Bargain. I love Costco. Mr. Handsome, did you fill up your fuel tank? Thanks for your product review. ❤God bless you and your beautiful family.
Just came from Costco it's at 219 right now. Not bad
@@DoritosResiduewhich costco store did you visit
@@matatangata3113 Chino hills California but doubt they have that price now.
I am currently looking at thid exact model on Costco website but when I go to my cart, the picture is slightly different (it's the screen room that appears) and when placing the order, the title change from 'with awning' to 'with screen room'....when did you purchase it? I wonder if they changed the model?
They have an orange one that is the same as this on their website, the one with the awning is a bit different. That's the first time I've seen it.
I found 1 at the store
Does the light switch turn on/off? Or just different modes of light? Just wondering if the only way to turn off the lights at night is unplugging from power source?
There's a light switch inside next to the door. It's a nice setup. Thanks for watching!
@@griddleporn7368 yeah, I have the same tent but it seems like once the cord is plugged into the power source there’s no off switch, just three different light modes. Wasn’t sure if there’s something I’m missing in the light switch or if I do indeed have to unplug from the battery pack to turn them off at night.
@@tinasilbaugh6465 Mine has an off switch.
Can I cut a hole it it for a wood burning stove?
I wouldn't recommend it. There are plenty of tents out there designed for stoves.
@@griddleporn7368 do you recommend any?
Is it easy to bring down??
Just as easy as putting it up! It only takes a few minutes.
@@griddleporn7368 awesome thanks for the reply!!
Thanks for watching!
How much did you pay for tent?
Probly $260
It was on sale for $200.
Berryessa?
Berryessa what?
The sound cuts out in beginning. Your too far from the mic. You give more information on the Colman tent than you did on the CORE tent.
Sorry about the sound. This was just my initial impressions, I posted a second video after I actually slept in the tent. I've since used it on a trip across the country and it's worked great btw. Thanks for watching!
You could try opening your mouth when you talk. would make it easier to understand you.
