this video seems to have recently surfaced to some new viewers again so...SPOILER ALERT. This video happened what? 2 years ago? Well, when I said I'll be doing CZcams "full time" I wasn't doing ONLY CZcams lol I drove for Uber and Lyft, made good money believe it or not. Then as time went on, I just missed home...I moved back home! (Good decision at first, BAD decision in the long run) you live and you learn ya know? My channel has been hit very hard by the CZcams algorithm change and ad situation (a lot of youtubers have) but I do work another full time job and still manage to post videos weekly. Still on this CZcams journey no matter what happens, hopefully if you're new here and reading this, you'd care to subscribe and watch my newest videos? if not, I understand. So many other channels out there to watch nowadays - anyway, thank you for stopping by!
P.S quitting BestBuy was and still is the best decision I've made since posting this video. I do miss the discount tho 😂

Most jobs, especially retail jobs are "at will" employments, basically if they wanted to, they can pull him into the office and simply just tell him that it isn't working out and let him go... he isn't in a union or in contract.

Sad but true. I worked at a sewing company for 4 years cuz I felt like I was being targeted. I also left a local security company which I worked for 8 months cuz I was screwed over by a client. They knew I was the best cuz I would cover for everyone when nobody wouldn't. Great video

Good to hear. Hope you keep moving forward with your success. Most retail/service/no management jobs are really just stepping stones to get your foot in the workforce. As well as teach you basic workplace etiquette and teamwork.

He probably got too expensive for their standards and cut his hours to anger him and get him to quit on his own to not pay unemployment benefits. Then they hire someone else who will work for less.

Sure. make a whole dollar or two more an hour, awesome if that's your life goal. It's a retail job, not a professional career. Retail jobs are dime a dozen and fine for those still in school or for people who settle for whatever and don't strive to better themselves. You also don't have spend years making shit wages in an attempt to move your way up into upper management which is almost impossible without a college degree regardless of years there. Those floor managers don't make good money. The money in retail is at the top You can go to school for 4 years, major in business management, or get a CPA, MBA etc and land a district/regional/corporate management career role.
The point is, of course management doesn't care he quit. Again, it's a retail job. Easy to hire low skill, low requirement position. They can have the position filled by the end of the day and customers will always be there. Number and volume of sales are irrelevant because when most people go to places like Best Buy etc. they are already there to get something they came to buy or plan to buy.
Bro, let me tell you something. Retail stores like these don't give a damn about anybody. Everybody is replaceable. You also didn't go into that meeting with the right attitude. Divine first of all there is this thing called taxes. That $1040 can turn into $840 real quick depending where you live. Where I’m from (NY), you wouldn’t even be able to find a studio apartment for $1200, I’d expect Cali to be no different. Second of all he has other expenses like food, electric, water, a car, toilet paper, sh*t ain’t free. I worked at Best Buy you can’t afford to live by yourself making $13 unless you live in a state like Georgia or Kentucky where the price of life is cheap.
This inspires me to let go of unhealthy shit in my life and anything/anyone that shows me no appreciation. I know how it feels to be disrespected in the work place and I'm looking to move on. You are very well spoken and I love the way you chose to handle this.

As someone that had been in retail overall in 7 years I can tell you that when you start people are your friends but as time goes on the management changes happen and co-workers tend to snitch and backstab you. I worked for Macy's 5 years and they would work my ass like a dog in the end. Not worth it

I just quit my job today & THIS right here gave me hope!!! My boss was almost 50 years old and I’m 20 and worked circles around her. Had an employee who no call no showed 5 times within two weeks and is still somehow employed. So today when she had the nerve to say “I’m a lost cause” I threw my name tag down and told her good luck finding someone to do your job and everyone else’s. ☺️

Man I’m a server too and I can’t do it anymore! What type of job are you gonna go to after you quit restaurant industry. I’m trying to pick something hourly and stable. The job cut me to 2 days when I was working 6 and 5 days then bam cut and I’m never late and never call out. It’s to unpredictable.

Doubt it. Because he was still scheduled on some days. You could be right but I doubt it. Companies do not want want turn overs because training costs money. While you train someone you are scheduling them on a day that does not require an extra person.
Getting rid of someone who had the highest numbers except for 1 month in which he was 2nd does not seem like a smart decision. Even if he got paid hourly more than the others, it would be no more than 2 bucks. Thats nothing. I think they cut his hours maybe because shit happens, or the scheduler wanted to give it to someone they like more (I’ve seen that happen too).
I just don’t think they wanted him to quit because of the hassle of hiring someone.

It may not be required, but it's still professional to give a Two Weeks Notice. Because if God forbid something happens and the only job available is the one you're quitting right now, you won't burn bridges down by just up and walking away.
Also, most job applications now require you to right down the name of a manager, and your possible new employer will contact your old one. If you up and walk away like you say here, it'll reflect badly on you, because no one will want to hire someone who just flat out leaves whenever they want to quit.

I was told that anyone who has a problem at a Walmart as a customer or as an employee you can report it to the Work Place Ethics group. You can find your local ethics group by doing a google search under "Walmart Ethics" so any bad moments or complaints can be sent to the Ethics group and that report goes to the Walmart Home Office.

I am in retail... I’m a manager... they should have communicated to u rather than taking u off the schedule w out no regard to your finances. However, there is more to being a sales associate than just selling. There is still work that needs to get done outside of taking care of customers. Sometimes people forget that and when they aren’t helping a customer, they use that time to play on their phone, goof off, socialize, take extended breaks...I could go on and on but you get the idea. I applaud you for standing up for yourself... you earned my follow!
