  • What is the best retention after a treatment with clear aligners? What is the best protocol? Is it better to use fixed bonded retainers or removable appliances?
Everybody has their secret or their special recipe. But on what based these recipes? Clinical experience or scientific evidence?
Retention is the phase of treatment where we try to keep the teeth in their final position after orthodontic treatment. If we don’t do it, teeth will have a tendency to move and to return to their original position. This is what we call a relapse.
The answers you will find in this video might surprise you. And stay till the end where we tell you the most important thing you have to remember, a recommendation from Dr. Simon Littlewood, THE reference in orthodontic retention. You have the links for interesting articles after the timestamps (below).

The C.L.E.A.R. Institute is an AGD PACE-approved provider.
The C.L.E.A.R. Institute's mission is to help dentists and team members to integrate efficiently and successfully clear aligners in their day-to-day practice. We want you to be as comfortable talking about clear aligners to your patient as you are about any type of regular restoration. The vision of The C.L.E.A.R. Institute is that clear aligner treatment becomes as common as any type of regular dentistry performed in a dental office. We see it as part of any comprehensive treatment proposed to your patients. C.L.E.A.R. stands for Clinical Lecture Education Aligner and Restoration. Either it is from live face-to-face courses, from our digital platform, or from this CZcams Channel, our goal is to bring you the information and education you need to have success with clear aligners. This is why even if we focus on clear aligners, we also cover subjects as Communication, Finance, Protocols, Roles of everyone, we cover Restoration: what comes after clear aligners? How to integrate everything together.
Who said dentistry and education should be boring❓❗❗❗

I find that we need to be cognizant of personality of the patient and future expectations, certainly malocclusion at time of correction /heredity as well. Multifactorial hence its challenging to find one fit all. Memotain retainers give excellence lingual fit bonded retainer created with CADCAM NiTi.Just thought needed to share as was introduced to Memotain in Berlin :) S

We agree Memotain seems indeed promising and a good solution for lingual bonded retainer. Looking forward to some clinical studies on this subject.
