  • Not all orthodontic bite problems are created equal. Just like no two people are ever quite the same, tooth and bite problems tend to be different for each person.
Knowing the above, the answer to the following questions may seem obvious: Is Invisalign a “one-size-fits-all solution”? Does it work for everyone? Now, years ago you may have heard “Invisalign doesn’t work”.....or a dental professional may have told you, “Invisalign can’t fix your bite.” At the time, that may have been true. In this video we explain more about Invisalign & deep bites!

Ohh. I understand what it is on the back on my new Invisalign brace. I have 3 ramps and several attachments to correct my deep bite. I never knew they were called ramps.

I am getting my deep overbite fixed with Invisalign next month. What is so sad is no dentist ever told me to go to an orthodontist until I broke a tooth.

I had a severe deep bite that was treated with braces 1988-1992 before invisalign. I dont believe invisalign would have worked. I now have braces again for the same condition that was never fully corrected. I wish someone would have noticed the problem when I was young. BTW, the first time in braces I was 40.

Can you explain how these ramps works? I mean, what movement they induce? Do they induce a push down of the bottom front teeth? Do they induce the upper front teeth to move up? Or is it both?
Or the bottom front teeth to go inward?
    thank you

I've been wondering this as well. There are no videos on CZcams that show how they actually work to improve your bite.

Hi Dr. I’m on tray 5 of 37. Today when I changed to tray 6 I noticed three bumps on the back of my top teeth. So I guess they care bite ramps. My jaw is hurting. Question: is it common to start off with aligners without bite ramps and then have them appear like me on tray 6 ? Why would they not be installed from the beginning. I thought I might have gotten the wrong retainers but when I checked the remains of the retainers they all had ramps on them.
Thank you so much for your video!

If there are two layers of plastic preventing full molar occlusion, it can become difficult to avoid posterior open bites and treat deep bites. This is a flawed system for correcting such issues. Invisalign gave me a bad posterior open bite. Due to it, when treatment was finished, along with molar rupturage came back my bad overbite. I, like many others, will now have to pursue more traditional treatments for my deep overbite. Invisalign was one of the worst decisions of my life. A system dependent upon 22 hrs per day of wear and if you mess up one day, a tray might not fit and you'll get delayed a month for the refinements to ship in. The risk of trays not fitting and causing your bite to worsen must be considered. The feeling of being rushed during meals. The panicky feeling of having trays out for too long. They're not very invisible if you need the white bumps on your front upper teeth. Might as well just own up to being a brace face. I have a serious jaw and cervical issue now and I think it may be correlated to my bite getting messed up. I'm not saying invisalign can't fix bite issues, but I will say there are greater chances of mishaps and from an engineering perspective, it's a far less trustworthy system compared to constant traction and tension applied by braces. Just a heads up if anyone reads this.

Bro all that you say so much exaggerated. You just need to chill. I am on my 9th tray. I have a left jaw that wants to fall out when i go 'out' of my overbite by pushing forward. I also have somatic tinnitus from it sadly. But it seems logically to me that my jaw just has to adjust to have benefits in the long run. I put the trays off for 3 meals a day, that's 3 hours in total for me. It seems to work just fine. And i do a lot of stretching and yoga along with it because it makes me think it's making all muscles in my body loose and help put pressure on my jaw from all angles to make the tray effective hahaha.

@@insidiatori9148 all that I say is exaggerated, including my diagnosed neuromuscular issues, eustachian tube issues, sternoclavicle issues, platysma and interscalene spasms? Invisalign is more of a flawed system for correcting bites. This is why you must qualify for invisalign before treatment. I currently have braces and it's a much better experience. When you're on your final tray I'd love to know if your molars touch when you bite down. There are legit studies how people on hypermobile spectrums have bad reactions to invisalign (me) and I personally believe they leech microplastics into your mouth

Hello, i got a question since im a bit confused now i was at the Ortho, i got an overjet of approx (6mm) and an overbite of 85-90%, she asked me if i want both arches to be corrected or if top would be enough (she also told me that if i want to correct both arches i have to get the usual braces and this would take years in my case cause my backteeth/jaw is a bit weird at the bottom) since im fine how my lower teeth look and dont have any bite issues i just want to get straither teeth (for veneers) and close my diastema (3.5-4mm) at the top arch, im wondering now cause i saw many cases on youtube/google and they always do upper and lower and never just one arch?
and since i have a very deepbite/overbite im a bit worried now, is it even possible to correct an overbite with just invisaglin on the top arch?
i know its probably really hard for you to tell cause every case is different but generally speaking would it be possible to correct such an deepbite/overbite with invisalign only on the top teeth?
    ty in advance

If you can guide me please
I am about to have a braces treatment done for my deep bite
Of all the clinics I visited,
if you can comment on this
With same degree and same brand of braces (Damon) a doctor is charging me a lower amount because he did not have that senior level experience
    Another doctor,
same degree as previous one (Masters Dental Surgery - Orthodontist) is charging me double the amount for the same procedure.
Only difference is--he has been in the industry twice longer than the previous doctor
Is it worth to get the high cost treatment for same procedure
    Would appreciate your guidance
    Thank you
