Eddie’s lift will be exceeded one day, but it hardly matters. To jump almost 40kg from his own existing record and become the first half-tonne deadlifter in history... no one can ever take that from The Beast.
it is the equivalent of running the 100m in 8.62 seconds ... an absolute mental step
Ashley Garvin It is 100% the most insane leap of development I can think of in any sport. Which other long-established sport (competitive weightlifting is literally as old as humans) has ever taken an individual shove forward like that from anyone? Sergei Bubka in the pole vault, maybe, but he did it increments, not one huge superhydrated leap.

Thank you very much
After listening to interviews of Eddie after the 500k lift, I can't help but feel for him in his slurred speech. If anyone doesn't know, at that moment his brain was bleeding, and he blacked out twice after the lift and once more after the speech. His blood pressure was through the roof and he was going blind in these moments. The fact he managed to make that speech and still remain with that classic Eddie Hall "fuck off dad" humor is quite astonishing. He's a real trooper if I've ever seen one!
Yes, plus the fact he not only was bleeding from the nose but also his ears & tear ducts!!!!!!
It had lot of help to get their, and also mind control so he was able to flick something in his brain and said lets get out their when he did. He was looking at the judge with aggression then needed a moment of silents then when pulled the bar closed his eye and a blank mind. Lifted it with eyes open up because so much force brought down on him it change the color of his eyes It's one crazy experience and that's a trooper
And he was in the bathroom looking at the mirror when a flick in his brain
one of his vids he said they went thru 4 different equipment to try to register his blood pressure and heart rate and they thought they were faulty but it came down and he road it out back stage. the next day he was having problems remembering how to drive.
So true man ! Eddie is a legend !

the most hydrated Eddie Hall we've seen
Could you explain why I keep seeing comments like this about the hydration of Eddie Hall? Maybe I'm just missing the obvious.
@@fathertime5680 in a big part of his videos always says he's dehydrated, so it became a meme
@@angeltorres9232 If he's ever fully hydrated, he won't pull the weight up but rather push earth down
He does look like a beast in here. Look at the sheer volume of this lad.
He has enough electrolytes and cranberry juice in him to hydrate a whole city

Not all heroes wear capes...😅
Eddie isn’t kidding about everyone doubting him, even the whole lead up to his lift they were openly doubting him. Legend
The look of concern on his wife's face. The only one who was seriously worried the moment he put the bar down while the whole crowd was cheering and applauding and then also the sigh of relief and eventually a smile on her face a minute later lol
She was also smiling because he had a friend place a bet on his behalf that he would pull the weight. That bet set him up for life monetarily wise according to his interview.
You’ll find there were a few worried I. The crowd. Don’t put everyone in the same category
She wasn’t worried, just wet...I mean hydrated
@@OneAwareness1 I thought I was the only 1 that noticed that hahahaha

"When Alexander invented the telephone he had 3 missed calls from Eddie Hall"
Eddie meant to call his wife, Alexandra.
Neil Pickup is one of the best sports commentators ever
This might come off as very sensitive in such a manly sport, but... when Eddie hugged his wife @ 1:16:01 and said "I couldn't have done this without her" made me very very emotional. "She does everything for me" it's not just the cooking and stuff he is talking about, it's something else. Women like her are rare in this world, if you find one like her, marry her and never let her go.
Sounds like what YUJIRO HANMA said about his son BAKI's girlfriend...
Yeah, if you watch his CZcams channel, you can definitely see the love between them. It’s awesome. Eddie seems to be a genuinely loving dude, btw. The way he spoke about his competitors after his lift was also amazing. No misplaced pride, no star attitude, if they lift it, WE were the first to lift it. Amazing sportsmanship.
Ive realized Eddie became blind before he gets down or what i forgot sorry for Eddie.
I love how he has trouble speaking but then casually says "fock off dad". xD
His brain was literally bleeding, a tue mad man
Lmao
GamersBienvenidos It wasn’t. I don’t know why people keep saying that. If it were a brain bleed he’d have been in hospital.
RWooshBaiter He said so himself, and I’m pretty sure he did go to the hospital.
GamersBienvenidos He said so himself but 1: He’s clueless and has no idea what he’s on about and 2: He exaggerates his side effects all the time. Every interview he has some new side effect and story about it. Also he said himself he refused to go to hospital. If he had a brain bleed he’d likely be dead. He wouldn’t be walking round less than a minute after it supposedly happened. At minimum he’d have been rushed to hospital.

After watching the video on Eddies channel, and knowing exactly what he went through during the lift, it just makes it all so much more incredible!
Ikr. I didn’t know he went and talked for that long after the lift and made it look so ez when he literally nearly died.

@@NSD-fp9qj That's what upsets me the most about the 501 kilo situation, you see the lengths this man has gone through in order to achieve the greatest feat of his life, only for it to be taken by some 6'9 Giant doing it in his own home. I admire Thor as an athlete but as a person not so much.

The distance between the bar and Eddie's knees is barely 4 inches. That's an advantage itself. Whereas Hafthor pulls about 2 feet for the same deadlift. Ironic!

jerry didn't struggle for 465, but 500 was too much
@@geuros there was definitely some struggle there. Watch Eddie's 465 lift that was an easy lift eddie just stood up with it as fast as you would stand up out of a chair, Jerry had some shaking going on there and a slower lift which indicates struggling,
