    You bought a brush grapple for a small tractor. You should have bought a SGC0660. I have a L2501 Kubota with a SGC0660 and I have pushed trees over, dug up concrete and roots. Never had any issues as it already has tubes welded between the teeth unlike the SGC0554. Your grapple is not made for what you are trying to do with it. It is for moving brush only and your dealer should have told you that.

    I have this grapple on a BX23. Freaking works great. I mostly work trees and logs, I try not to abuse it for sure, but it has been wildly reliable.

    That grapple is for the little BX tractors. You needed the 0660.

      This is what the guy at the kubota dealer recommended and I had my tractor with me when I bought it , bx guys say they have bent these up too.

  • @MichaelPMc
    @MichaelPMc Před 4 měsíci +1

    I use this on my B2601 Kubota and I bent a bottom Tine once trying to pick up a huge rock so the fault was mine not the grapples.. I just bent it back. I love my grapple and it works awesome. Dealership should never have recommended this grapple for this large a tractor that allows you to abuse the grapple. This grapple is exactly what I expected. I use it more than any other attachment.

    @IllInformedHuman Před 8 měsíci +4

    Thanks for the info! I reckon you have been dragging this on the ground and been trying to pick up rocks. I recently went through the process of picking a Land pride grapple and found the marketing to be deceiving. I wanted something to drag through the dirt and rip up rocks, so I went with the SG10 series which, like the SGC0554, does not have supports on the bottom tines. However, the marketing clearly states "...dig up rocks...". And it has been able to do just that without bending (The steel is twice as thick and closer to the frame).
    Looking at the SGC0554 and SGC06 series they state "Move brush, clean stalls, lift debris, and so much more". That "so much more" bit is deceiving, though after reading that I thought that it definitely would not be able to do much in the way of ground contact work.
    Why I wanted to go with land pride is because land pride has been the only brand I've seen to protect the hoses along the inside of the frame. Everyone else seems to have a loop near the bottom or top of the grapple. And after tearing a few hoses out in my day, I wanted something that tucked those darn things away and surrounded them in steel. Keep that in mind with your next purchase.
    Happy Tractoring! 🚜

    I have the 0664 on a 2502 and I move tons of logs and brush with it, use it clean out brush, works great, my model had a tubular support between the tines so I have not had that problem with bending tines.

    Good information! I use a flat bottom grapple from MTL attachments on my kioti CK tractor. I’ve also ordered 2 other grapples & one set of pallet forks from MTL & we’ve had zero issues with any of them. They’re well built. Another good video!!

    I went with the Homestead Implements 55” root rake grapple instead of the Land Pride. I think there are several better options than the Land Pride, props to you for admitting you’re not happy and hopefully it helps someone else not make the same mistake. Thanks for the video

  • @donaldlump7178

    It's a brush grapple not a root grapple. Big difference in use and build structure.

  • @tractorman4461
    @tractorman4461 Před 4 měsíci

    I think there are different levels of hardness available. The higher quality have the harder and heavier materials so they can perform with less bracing.The problem with the higher quality grapples is the additional weight cuts down the loader capacity on the compact and sub compact tractor lineup. I was looking at one 72'' that was near 1600 pounds !! That's a no go for sure, even on a 50 hp tractor. Good Video, btw.

  • @1squirreldog
    @1squirreldog Před rokem

    Thanks for posting your experience. I look at land pride as over priced equipment in my eyes . I personally have a MTL grapple for a Jd 5075 and it’s pretty good for the $ but kind of heavy for a subcompact . If you can swing the $ I would get the everything attachments grapple . Pricey but as light as your going to find with the strength and quality imo. I never knew what I was missing until I purchased a grapple for the tractor. That is an attachment every tractor should come with . Good luck with your search for the right one to get next.

    Good info. I seen in the comments of one from everything attachment made of AR400. It is a lot better steel won't bend near as easy but once it does it will break off. Im my opinion looking at it from the end that piece of cross tubing is probably scheduled 40 pipe. But l also get that it is not a log grapple with two separate thumbs or a single in the middle liflkebrhe frost bite. No tree is 12" at the base and 12" a few feet up

    Thank you for the review. I am in the market for just that style of grapple and was looking hard at the Land Pride SGC0660. I have decided to go with a grapple from Everything Attachments. I have bought things from them before, and they are just bullet proof.
    Looks like the piece of angle will help a lot. I would keep using it until it no longer functions and chalk it up to a learning experience.

    It’s too small,and poorly braced for your tractor. My dealer sold me the same one for my B2301, and when I found out that the 54” is designed for BX ONLY…I insisted they take it back, and they gave me the 60” for a slight increase in price.
    Btw… what were you doing to bend the tines so badly?
