guitar! - Hry
I hope we'll see covers of TOTK songs 7 years after its release
looool you get it
Got em
haha!
My man is going to start Drooping Vine song covers.....but obviously this is to Hype the new game.
I mean, we still see ocarina of time covers and that came out in 1998 so I think it's a safe bet you will see both breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom covers for years to come
I never realized how complex and nuanced this piece actually was. Hearing it in the background while you’re trying to avoid enemies or watch story elements is so different than just sitting back and listening/enjoying the arrangement
Botw has one of the best OSTs of all time.
It's the sign of a great game soundtrack.
I remember the number of hours I spent in Diablo 1, just standing in Tristram and being amazed as a kid.
@@ArchibaldVonSkip i just replayed Diablo 1 earlier this year, the atmosphere holds up so well
@@TheAlibabatree outer wilds is the best gaming ost ever imo. With its dlc. The game is great too.
@@tumultuousv Ive been wanting to play that for a long time. Still waiting on the Switch release
That Hyrule Castle at the end of the game theme is such a contrast to the rest of the game's chill music. Your cover was amazing. Thanks for sharing
Completely, but then it's logical when you know what's underneath 👀
Mighty final fight nes plz let y dream come true
Manaka Kataoka absolutely outdid herself with this theme. Easily one of the best songs in the game. Such an epic cover, dude. Fantastic job.
By far my favorite song in the game. I'd actually go there and put link in a corner and just listen. I also love how it changes depending on whether you are outside or inside.
They really nailed it with the Castle theme in BotW. Such a nice blend of tunes!
I actually cannot believe what I just heard. That's like, the best a guitar could ever make the song sound.
Ahhhh its Zelda season once again and I just KNOW ToTK will have some absolute bangers like this
Hyped for the Sam covers and the super guitar bros covers for sure!
They share a lot of the same music, but yes. There are some banger original songs.
It absolutely does
Man, your arrangement is so epic, it really captures the full emotion of the original. Also really dig the percussive tapping at the beginning, it gives it a lot of flare!
Your cover is great too Josh. There's definitely room for both in my playlist lol
@@johnbrown1617 Appreciate that, John! Honored to be on your playlist.
My favourite part is when you go into Zelda’s room and the music changes!
Lovely cover btw
I love how you're such a goofy guy on camera but when you play it's like you turn on a switch and you always deliver an S-tier professional caliber performance.
Wow! That was a flawless transitioned from the outdoor theme to the indoor theme! :D
This is amazing!
Been years since I haven't picked up my classical guitar... That... just made me pick it right back up again. I frickin' love what they did with this song and all its variation that plays depending on where you are located in the castle, outside, near the top, etc. The seamless transition is stupidly well done, and this classical version is Breath..taking. Amazing job, I'm profoundly impressed.
Within 30 seconds of the new video drop and I’m here being blown away. Sam, you never cease to amaze me
Awww so glad I DESTOYED ALL EXPECATION ALMOST INSTANTANEOUSLY
Oh hey hey, look at Mr. Flamenco dude here tappin' that "a" finger. Nice playing my dude. Some really tasty chords in there.
Sam, I keep coming back to this one. I think it is one of the greatest arrangements you've done yet. And the obvious emotional impact its had is shown so well here. It was such a good set up for the release of TotK.
I love the silent contemplation at the end. If there's a song that needs that, it's this one.
I didn't even think that it would be possible to play this on the guitar. Well done for this masterfully interpreted composition!
Oh wow you even did the HP blink sound effect reference, perfectly, this is the best version on CZcams by far
Absolutely sick bro. The Molduga song with your arrangements would be a total banger
As an audio engineer, I must really praise you for the quality you achieve with your recordings. Idk if you first record the audio and then shoot the video for efficiency purposes. But man, I love how wide and immersive sounds. Would you be so kind to give a brief on how you approach the recording/mixing process? Thank u in advance Sam :)
Dude right? I'm so jealous of his audio
He has a studio tour video up discussing his recording techniques as well
Hey homie thanks so much! I plan on fully teaching my audio setup from top to bottom soon : )
This is definitely my favorite piece in the game. I love both the piano arrangement for the indoors and the full orchestral for the exterior, although I'm definitely partial to full orchestral arrangements of anything. I love that it goes into 5/4 and even sometimes 6/4 I believe. I want to convince my band director to do an arrangement of this piece but I don't think that's gonna work lol.
The best thing about SG has got to be that you know every single song is always going to exceed any expectations.
Ah, a Sam Griffin piece… I know this is gonna be even more epic than I can imagine. Yep. Every time. Bravo.
Me, growing up on OOT, and I must have played your OOT duo a hundred times… now I sit here with my young son, who has also played OOT but now BOTW and TOTK… he’s 5 and he said he is “amazed by how amazing this song is” epic man, thank you and keep up the amazing works of art
Beautiful arrangement. As a guitar player, I know how much time and practice it takes to get to even half of what I know you put into this. Absolutely love it.
I’ve been listening to this rendition for over a year, and I JUST noticed “Zelda’s Lullaby” at 1:25… well-played, sir!
Sam, this is incredible! I don't know how you weaved so much into this arrangement.
MAAAAAN, this is SO good.
This is honestly my favorite piece of music from the entire Zelda franchise, and you absolutely nailed it 💯
All the nuance and emotion is there. Well done!
I think you got every last bit of that entire ORCHESTRA REDUCTION in there. This one is also my favorite and learned it on piano myself. But this. This is absolutely brilliant, it was played hauntingly well, and you are a genius. Keep up the good work! 👏👏
Absolutely beautiful; having never played a single Zelda game safe for Link To The Past, I have to say that your covers of the series' soundtrack are my favourite videos of yours. Your love really shines through and makes for very touching renditions :)
This channel should have ten times as many subs. Share the heck out of this.
I admire your mental timekeeping. 5/4 is tricky!!
I love this song too! I stand in the middle of the Tower and just listen. Wonderful playing!
Oh my god, this cover/arrangement/everything was phenomenal!
And my favourite by far, too. What a theme. You have captured what makes this theme great in classical guitar, amazing work.
The castle theme goes so hard, one of my favorites too. Excellent cover!
Damn! I could never have imagined this on classical guitar. Just amazing as always. Bravo Sam!
Absolutely gorgeous rendition of this. Thank you for posting, what a treat!
Beautiful arrangement and masterfully played as always Sam.
This is awesome. One of my favorite songs as well. So glad this popped up in my recommended.
Absolutely beautifully played, I received the same goosebumps I got when first hearing this in full orchestra. To think you did it on solo-guitar, fantastic
I get chills listening to this.
So frickin good!!
Every time I come back to this video, I have the same issue with it.
I already liked it, and can't again.
Amazing, as usual. Love the attention to minute details. Keep up the good work Sam.
That is my favorite song from BOTW too! I even learned to play on the piano, but this guitar version was just incredible! Well done Sam!
Ever since your comment on Josh´ video i have been waiting! Amazing arrangement, cant wait to try out the tabs! love that you included the “interior” part aswell (sick rythm skills)
Incredible rendition and performance. Love it!
This is long overdue and very much appreciated! I can’t thank you enough for your talent this is incredible!
I keep coming back to this. Thank you for this lovely arrangement and performance!
Absolutely amazing. Great stuff yet again, Sam! I especially loved the emotions at 1:25.
It's my favorite too.
Only one that really stuck out to me and didn't see like background music.
Such a lush perfect cover as always.
This is so damn good. I can hear the darkness looming underneath the surface. Masterful arrangement and playing!
Dude when you scrunched your face to play that wicked chord at 0:28, I felt that
What I like most are the subtle references to the zelda theme (1:24). I only noticed this after hours of running around in the castle.
The most beautiful acoustic guitar I've seen so far. You really took my soul with this. Thank you.
This gave me goosebumps. Awesome job.
Beautiful arrangement as always Sam! Big fan 🥰
Aww thanks homie
In all of BOTW there was not a more epic moment than storming Hyrule Castle. It wasn't a dungeon like LTTP, it wasn't hub for tiny temples like OOT. It wasn't merely a pretty set piece. It was a ruined fortress, with passageways that SHOULD have led places but dead end in weird places. It was overrun with enemies and security and you had to infiltrate it however you deemed fit. So good.
This has always been my favorite theme, great arrangement!
Completely captivating. I could listen to this all day and I might. Top tier arrangement and performance of one of the best game tunes in the last 10 years.
Papa Griff, I love Time and your chrono cross arrangements and I’m now giving up on asking for you to upload more of your majestically melodic music to iTunes. Can you make a video explaining why you don’t though?
I love this song too and just the main themes of each character in the song makes me so happy
I love the soldiers' marchesin the beginning...gives me chills
Wonderful job Sam!! Love any Zelda music you put out 🎉
Instant subscribe - got randomly recommended, but your playing, feeling, and arrangement skills is just top notch!
That's scary good! Really impressive playing on all levels 👌
GodDAMN, now this is fucking BEAST of a cover
This is an absolutely superb arrangement bro! It's also my favorite song too! Man I can't wait to get as good as your someday
Wow this incredible! Definitely shows your mastery over the guitar
Instant like, my favorite song as well! It has everything, Zelda's lullaby, Link's main theme, Ganon's theme and the overall feel of BOTW soundtrack, simply amazing great job!
So atmospheric, epic and heroic! I love it!!
You're killing it, homes. Aw, peace out, bro.
My god, yet another phenomenal guitarist.
I can proudly inform you that I conquered the algorythm!
Badass cover man, I loved this song too
This arrangement and also the performance is nothing less than excellent! Congrats! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
so besides video game scores i'm mostly a thrash metal guy. when i tell my friends that a single classical guitar can sound heavy, this is my prime example. the 5/4 count and these big chords like the full D7sus2 chord in there with the open low bass strings make this rendition really heavy to me. can't listen to this without actually headbanging. well done sam.
So much emotion went into this one. Love it!
You did an awesome job and I love this
Simply a beautiful cover!!
This is truly beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Sam, the passion you put into this performance is majestic. Great work indeed!
This is also my favorite one and man, you definitely did justice to it. Thank you for the video
The recording and mastering is fantastic. Played it in my car and the bass notes had some real thump and the top end sounded so bright rang out beautifully.
This is the best song in the game hands down. Awesome rendition, Sam!
SICK dude, this is also my favorite track from the game, and you nailed it
Epic arrangement and played superbly!!
Goosebumps... wonderful goosebumps. Bravo!
Your thumbnail tripped me out cuz you looked so much like Matt Mercer! 😂 I believe he voices Ganon in the BOTW and TOTK games. Excellent vid and great guitar skills dude keep it up!
I'm always glad when I see you've uploaded a new Zelda arrangement. Bravo!
Insane stuff. Your videos are inspiring me to play guitar way more lately. Keep doing your thing 👍
Mind blowing, dude. Incredible playing!!
Amazing work Sam!
Quite incredible! 👏🏽👏🏽
Can't stop listening to it. Definitely my favorite song too, and Definitely my favorite version.
Gotta say you're one of my favorite guitar players amongst the CZcamsrs out there
One of the best compositions in the game. Love you BOTW tunes!
YESSSS also my favourite piece from the game! I learned this one on piano myself, and am going to try and incorporate some of your nuances into it if I can - especially the Ganondorf organ bridge from 1:14 to 1:23, I love the way you play that bit!
Art in its most pure form, as always
Very nicely done
Very well performed! Also my favorite track :)
Remarkable arrangement! I'm amazed how much you managed to get in there for solo guitar!
oh my goooshh i love this !!
somehow i managed to play BotW a year after release without spoilers ... except having heard the castle theme and ive been obsessed with it since. especially in contrast with the quiet abandoned world and you get this complex driving theme blaring at you ?? perfect
