  • In today's video I will be unboxing and setting up a isopod culture. There are Porcellio Haasi isopods and like a more forest like enviroment. I will be adding these to my ball python bioactive enclosure soon. You can check out any of the suppliers and products featured in today's video with the links below...

Amazing, love their broms. Thats really lucky. I wish I had a aquascaping or terrarium type shop near me. Whats their shop like?

@@JonsRainforestRoom As i discovered they operate out of a retail unit rather than a shop but are happy to bring a range of plants over for you to have a look at. Will be going back for sure :-)

@@JonsRainforestRoom Just found this video, I know it's been a while, but I'd suggest for better sucess to add more ventilation (and cross ventilation, not just top), also only spray one corner of the tub, and add more leaf litter (especially partially decomposed leaves and crushed) for this species. The decaying leaves is their main diet, and freshly fallen leaves don't cut it (nor does supplementary food, they do like it every now and then but that's not what they need most). They're also not a tropical species, they're from northern spain in a valley between mountains, so it's a more mediterranean weather with cool wet winters and hot dry summers. They actually need more ventilation and dryness than most other isopod species kept in the hobby (but still need a moist corner to survive). With these parameters they should thrive and much better than otherwise.

Great content...... never thought cat decapitation would come up on your channel though! Sorry about your fish dude, I know it sucks to lose any animal, but it’s part of keeping pets unfortunately unless it’s a tortoise or parrot maybe! You interested in keeping any Chelonia actually?

I know mate, went a bit medieval lol. Cheers mate, it is the worst bit but part of it. I love terrapins and used to keep them as a kid. I would love to keep them again but its the space. That's the down side of having an upstairs room. Hopefully one day the channel takes off and we can have a Rainforest building 😆

Know what you mean! Always fancied a musk and I’ve been looking at box turtles but enclosure sizes need to be big with deep substrate. Don’t think I could do one justice space wise atm.

Its hard when there are lots of animals you want but can't but just have to hope one day
