  • This one was a doozy to work out, but finally happy with the technique. We use a few different tools to create this customisable and detailed knitting simulation, that can be reworked as needed.
Hope you enjoy it, if you have any improvments to the Cinema4d workflow or my general tutorial presentation would love to hear them.

cheers! Didn't get enough requests for P2 so decided not to do the texturing part, but it's quite simple. Put a redshift tag on the spline and set it to hair or cylinder depending on your needs, this is the fastest way to add thickness. Go through as normal with lighting and background setup!

Hi Jack, just came across your channel. The videos are incredible. Could you by any chance do a subdivision modelling + lighting it with redshift tutorial? Itd be amazing to see that from you! Subbed, keep the vids coming :)

@@JackKeDesign maybe a fragrance bottle? something that covers the fundamentals of modelling, UV wrapping & lighting would be amazing!

    Hi Jack!
Thanks for your tutorial, can u please write how did u do that heart?)

      cheers, sure thing:
you need to use a shader effector, and create a custom map in ai or ps and link it. Then you can use that in redshift as color data and display it

      @@JackKeDesign thanks for your answer)
I tried this tutorial "How to project an image using Shader effector in Cinema 4D 2023 @MaxonVFX" and tried using a tag "fit to object"
so now I see a black texture on my object)
where could I have taken a wrong turn?)

@@PalAnnna hmm, I think it could be because RS doesn't like this workflow for whatever reason. For Redshift, you need to use color user data in your node set up, and make sure it is set to mograph color. Also make sure the cloner is set to single, multi-instance will ruin the projection
