Hi Everyone, this video has kinda blown up a bit (for me at least) - so I wanted to address some things!
1. Stream Never Have I Ever on Netflix - you'll cringe, laugh, cry, and have all the feels it's FANTASTIC!
2. It came to my attention that Queen Amberly is from "Honduragua" or modern-day Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. A great actress that has these roots is Carla Vila!
2. So many of you have suggested such amazing castings so I highly suggest reading through some people's suggestions below, they're all great!
3. I realize the likelihood of a cast like this is literally 0% - but I'm so so excited for the fresh faces Netflix is going to bring in for this series (although there is literally no way I would have found them to put them in this video). Netflix WILL be casting people we have never seen before (hello new faves!) and it's going to be super exciting.
4. The likelihood of Noah Centineo being cast is like .001% so I don't think we need to worry about that (thank god).
5. I forgot Timothee Chalamet is actually in a Netflix Orginal Movie so... anything's possible?
i really liked this casting what are your opinions on louis partridge for maxom i know he is only 17 but i think they could fix him up a bit and would beq pretty good fit

I’m *terrified* for this movie. Not to be rude, but netflix kinda has a way of ruining perfectly good movies/books. One example being the “spirit” remake
They did pretty well for To All the Boys I Loved Before. I haven't read the books but from those who have, it was pretty accurate to the book's plot. So I'm going to trust them for now... But once that trailer comes out, that'll be the first time we actually get to see what it'll be like.

i hope they hold open auditions, all the people in the book, or most of those girls were actually all very average and I think it would be a beautiful concept to actually find new acting talent outside the books or starting actors because that's what this whole book is about, average girls becoming princesses

thriftflower I love the logic behind this. I think Netflix actors have been recycled so many times it would be hard to see them as the characters in the book. I love when new actors come and bring these stories to light. I absolutely love Chris Evans, but I can’t watch his films without thinking he’s Captain America.

SAME! This is one of my FAVORITE series and if they screw up the casting, I don’t even think I’ll watch it. I mostly need Marlee, Aspen, Maxon, and America to look like how they’re described in the book, they can play around with the looks of the other characters, but those 4 NEED to look how they’re described. Aspen needs dark (preferably black like in the book) hair, tall and kind of buff. Maxon needs to be tall and buff and have clean cut blond hair. Marlee needs very light hair (I really think Elle Fanning would work perfectly). And America needs very red hair and very blue eyes (I wouldn’t be mad at her choice for America, I haven’t seen her in anything but she seems to have the look) . I’m excited but I’m also so scared.

I really hope Netflix isn't going to re-use their actors for a lot of characters, I'm sorry for the ones who don't think that, but I'm so bored of seeing the same actors everytime. I think it could be so much better if we discover people, new actors we never saw ! It could be so much more interesting and a real Challenge for Netflix ! 😃

i swear to god that if netflix chooses Timotheé Chalamet to be Aspen i will kill myself, i just feel like everyone who hasn’t read the book will love Aspen just for being played by Timothée and that it will not let Maxon’s personality shine as much. elle lia have you read the series? It’s already very diverse, because it’s setting is America. And changing people’s races is just not fair to people who’ve read and come to love them. Can you imagine if the girl from Everything Everything was changed to Asian or white, yeah “technically” it’s still the same character except it’s not because they look nothing like the character in the book. I not only don’t like people’s entire race being changed but even if it’s as little as something like hair color, it just isn’t the same.

I think it's okay that the one you chose for aspen is "more handsome" because aspen's character do come off (atleast for me) as someone more attractive/charismatic than maxon. I mean the author even said so herself that aspen is HOT 😂 and also i like your dream cast for america!

Justine Kalalo True. I saw Aspen as the rugged, hot, and hardworking person while Maxon was more refined and more of a gentleman.
I know I shouldn’t be comparing this to Twilight but it’s the only one I can think of that’s the closest. Jacob is more like Aspen, he is more athletic, isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, and an overall sexy character. Maxon is the complete opposite, he’s probably not as toned as Aspen, he’s more suited to wearing well tailored suits, his greatest asset is his charm and charisma, and overall, he’s the perfect royal prince.
Wait is Celeste not supposed to be blonde? Shook. I feel like I have such a clear image in my head of all of these characters and the idea of seeing an adaptation is really weird! Ugh, I just picture Maxon as young Max Irons and I always will.

My dream cast for Maxon has been William Moseley for years. He's the one who played Peter in Chronicles of Narnia and prince Liam on the Royals. He's probably a bit too old now, but because of his looks and type casting I think he would have made a great Maxon

I absolutely love Amybeth McNulty, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Chance Perdomo, Galvin Leatherwood, and Abigail Cowen. That is the perfect cast. I just really hope for Maxon they choose someone new. Like they did with Noah Centineo. If they didn't cast him for Peter I wouldn't have ever imagined him as that character. I just hope whoever is America and Maxon they have extreme chemistry.

From the characters that I remember, I pictured Celeste as a younger Megan Fox so Madison Beer literally fits that exactly haha.

Ok I have a weird one for Maxon but I’m so set on it: Callan McAuliffe but it has to be him in Flipped (just pretend he’s older) he doesn’t fit the role now but I swear when I saw him in Flipped he had Maxon written all over him.

This book got me into the romance genre. It is so subtle and sweet. It's simple yet heart aching and I guess that's what I love about this. I do hope they include all the scenes which are NECESSARY for people to understand why the protagonists did what they had to. I REALLY don't want any backlash on my babies 🥺

Okay but here's an idea: Tom Holland. He has a movie coming out that is a Netflix movie so that means it could work. Look up Tom Holland with blond hair for Maxon or look at how he looked for his new movie Cherry where he played a soldier for Aspen (in the latter part). I would love love love him for either role

These are great picks! I'm with you on the fact that Netflix may try to pick from their past movies for actors. However, I do think for the bigger roles they will try to pick even more unknowns and people off their platform, which makes it hard to predict.

Actually, i'm so scared about this movie, i don't know what to expect. But Haifaa has directed good movies and she has been recognized for her works. And also she has never directed something like a teen drama, so that would be very interesting.
