You saw this coming from miles and miles away. America and Aspen grew apart romantically. Their relationship striked me as a very close friendship/family/protecting relationship. Maxon loves America for who she is, and they match really well. But, I do have to say my patience with America grew short several times. I apploud Maxon for his insistance and patience, because America can be so selfish en brute at times.

This popped up in my recommendations a few years ago. I had no idea what it was about and didn’t know what The Selection was, but I did like the video a lot. Completely forgot about it, and when I picked up the series a few years ago, I saw the cover of The One. It looked familiar, but I just couldn’t place it. Then this video appeared again. Thanks weird CZcams algorithm.

Now I have been awake for over 36 hours. I still think its worth it.

I always shift from Maxon to Aspen and vice versa, Aspen is just so good because of his personality and Maxon is so dreamy and really makes me smile as well.
Okay but when I discovered The selection I got the first 3 books and I finished them in two days.I couldn't sleep, I was literally OBSESSED.The same happend with the other two books.I was so angry when I discovered that they didn't have a movie for such a great book.
Just letting everyone know... Kiera Cass has said that a movie company bought the rights to make a movie. And this year they have found a director. 😊 I can't wait!!!

I finished all the 3 books in 2 days. Although it's a happy ending. I really got so carried away, that I found myself a crying mess under my blanket not once or twice but many times as I read this book. Truly an adventure to read these. And I'm so glad that it took America's point of view. I felt that I was her, I felt that I was there, living her life. With every happiness and aches that she has. It's truly hit my heart, made me happy and sad along the way.
It was beyond anything but CRAZY. These series are so beautiful. Did you guys cry too?😭

Here! I like Aspen more than Maxon, actually. It's so touching how Aspen really works hard to give America a better future, and he wanted to spoil her even though his caste is lower than her. I mean, yeah, Maxon spoils her as well. He could literally buy an island for her, and still have loads of money left. Aspen, on the other hand, only has his presence and an empty stomach. But despite all the hardships, Aspen still did an effort to see her, sacrificing his sleep and all that.
So, yeah, Aspen's penny weighs a lot more than Maxon's fancy bracelets. For me, it's not the price that counts, but the effort it took to give it. And my heart aches for Aspen when I read the books. 😞
If there's something I have complains to, it's Aspen and Lucy's love story. They moved too fast. Aspen moved on too fast. I remember he was just disappointed when Mer and Max slept together. Days passed and he's now madly in love with Lucy? It leaves an impression that Lucy is a safety net for him. When he found out America rejected him, he moves on to her...IMMEDIATELY. I would've loved it if it took a bit of time, you know? But the plot is still amazing, and while the supporting characters's story was rushed, the main characters's story took its time, and that's enough for me. :-)

Aspen broke up with America because he had a good reason. He wanted her to be happy. He made her sign up for "The Selection" because he thought she deserved a better life than what she has. Don't you see, he wants the best for her? Maxon was such a jerk in "The Elite." I can give you more reasons, people. Try me.
Maxon was a jerk. He ignored America throughout the book even though he told America he chose her. Also everyone hates America, I love her. She is a strong girl who fights and stands up for what she believes in. When her best friend Marlee was being tortured, Maxon didn't do anything. He doesn't care about her, because he chooses to stay away from her and flirt and kiss the other girls even though he told America he picked her.
Okay I get it. Everyone has their opinions. I just think people should like Aspen to because everyone loves Maxon.
Aspen wanted to give her her best chance. If you can't understand that, I think you need a therapy.
