14.01.2020 - VN24 - Concrete mixer truck fell on its side after accident - difficult recovery

- VN24 - Bottrop / Germany - For reasons still unknown, a fully loaded concrete mixer truck left the road to the right on Tuesday at 14:33 on the Hochfeld road at the level of the Südfriedhof cemetery and got onto the grass verge. It skidded back onto the carriageway and tipped with the right side of the vehicle onto the road. Part of the 11-tonne load leaked out. Two cranes and a tow truck were used to straighten up the truck. The concrete mixer was no longer operational. On Tuesday, the clean-up work and salvage operation continued into the evening hours. The road was closed for a total of six hours and was reopened at 8:30 pm. The 32-year-old driver of the concrete mixer was examined in hospital after the accident and was admitted to hospital as a precaution. According to his initial statements, he had to avoid an oncoming vehicle. He was unable to give a description of the vehicle allegedly causing the accident.

That is impressive to have cranes on call 24/7 and utilize them for accidents. I have watched several clips where cranes have been on scene. Most of the time a crane is overkill or a waste of time, man power and resources! In this case the two 50 Ton wreckers on scene could have rolled it without any issues.
If was in the UK the recovery company would have their own heavy lifting equipment. No need to bring in cranes.
this is how things work here: the prefectural authority requires heavy cranes (when needed) on the ground of primary public interest/safety etc. . in exchange for such “forced availability,” 24/7 crane operators and heavy equipments charterers do great deals and easy money with accidents and emergencies

Lots of overkill, we pull loaded mixers over with 1 wrecker, as it uprights the drum and load will slowly rotate towards the lowest point, wheels will land on road like a feather, FACT!

Nice work by the cranes, but that coupling up of the axle, much prefer the Kollmar method of wheels lift, quicker and looks safer, but still a good job .👍👍👍

t34 fan hi they sometimes do the ‘wheel’ grab in USA too, but it depends on the vehicle, , one thing is NO DEDIDECATED TRUCK to secure the front, or rear wheels, of disabled vehicle, but do adapt the underreach ,,with different fittings , to lift,,then secure with safety chains. Well done Holcim on the smooth steer tyre!!!!! Looks like they treat vehicle maintenance as discretionary. 'Red flag' should see the flying squad in the yard first up in the morning and go through the joint. Driver competence doesn't look too flash either - shareholders should be suitably impressed (not).
As always, this was a very interesting video, but at the start of it we saw several different types of cranes on the site. Did they attend but found incapable of lifting that load, or was it just a coincidence and they were simply passing on journeys to somewhere else?
the fire department's 70 ton crane should be more than plenty to pick up the truck and put it on its wheels. I assume they just decided to leave it to "the professionals". You don't want to step on someone else's tows when it's union work. But why they then bring in a 110+ ton crane instead is mystifying and complete overkill. That concrete truck weights less than 30 ton when full
No wonder it lost control, that steering tyre is as bald as a billiard ball don’t they check them in your country United Kingdom that vehicle would be off the road and heavy fines, absolutely appalling.

Am Reifenprofil kann es nicht gelegen haben. Da ist keins drauf.
Wollte eben auch schreiben, dass die Profile an den beiden Vorderachsen abgefahren sind. Stellenweise sieht man keine mehr.Mögliche Ursache, aber der Fahrer musste ja ausweichen!
Mit guten Reifen wäre dies möglicherweise besser gelungen.

Why don't they f*cking pump the stuff out quickly and have a third rate backup destination for somewhat less quality loads like what you might expect they'd have to classify this like when they have pumped it out, even if there'd be nothing wrong with it. For efficiency's sake, even if it were just for ecological reasons. You're not gonna tell me nothing in the entire industry has ever thought about how to cope with any such situation right? Amazed they can tow this even if it is for mere metres.

Der Mischer hatte ca 37t ( voll ). Und einen Mischer soll/kann man nicht über die Trommel wieder aufstellen weil diese nur "geführt" ist und die Last nicht aushällt !
Und beim "Kippmoment" muss die Last abgefangen werden weil er sonnst anschließend auf der anderen Seite liegt, erstrecht wenn der Beton bereits trocken ist !

@@kaig1682 Take a look at the Miller rotators. Boom capacity starts at 40-ton capacity (1140) and goes all the way up to up to 100-ton boom capacity (M100).

Ike the concept of no chatter/ safety comments. Job is dangerous, yes. But some of the tow channels over attempt at safety are boring. Don't go under the load, don't do what you have to do. Don't, don't don't. Was a tow/ recovery owner for 15 yrs. Almost died more than once, but that is what the job required. Still on top of the soil. So there.

Denk mal darüber nach ob die Feuerwehr für die Bergung eines verunfallten Fahrzeug zuständig ist und warum das so sein könnte. Dann kommst du auch darauf warum sie nicht "mitspielen" durften.

Da liegen ca 36Tonnen und der Beton war mitlerweile angetrocknet.
Beim Aufrichten muss relativ steil gehoben werden ,weil die Trommel beim Mischer nur geführt ist und die Last beim "geraden Zug" nicht aushällt !
und durch den hohen Schwerpunkt muss die Last beim Aufrichten abgefangen werden sonnst liegt er auf der anderen Seite.
Anders gesagt, mit einem Fahrzeug machst du da garnix ! Selbst ein Rotator würde mit der Last nicht alleine klar kommen.

- Fahrmischer scheint leer gewesen zu sein, ca 15 Tonnen Gewicht
- Feuerwehr Kran war da
- Schlepper mit Winde war da
WIESO haben DIE den Mischer nicht einfach aufgestellt?
So ein Fass auf zu machen, mit den zwei großen Kränen war total unnötig!

der Feuerwehrkran wäre bei der Benötigten Auslage an sein Grenzen gekommen und hätte den Mischer zusätzlich abfangen müssen ! ( Nicht möglich)

Ich fahre seit 25 Jahren nebenher Betonmischer....
- ein vorschriftsmäßig beladener Mischer hat 32 Tonnen!
- anscheinend ist der Beton im Mischer beim Umfallen schon hart gewesen?
- wenn er beladen gewesen wäre, hätte sich von den geladenen 7,5cbm mindestens 4 davon auf der Fahrbahn verteilt - WO sind die?

Ich war selber vor Ort und habe den mit Geborgen ,daher weis ich das beide Kräne ca 17-18t am Haken hatten. Und die Zeit die Vergeht von der Personenrettung , Gefahrenabwehr etc bis zur Bergung ist genug Zeit damit der beton härtet !
Und in meinem 13 Dienstjahren hatte ich mehrere (volle) Betonmischer auf der Seite und davon hat keiner Beton verloren !

Das heißt dann gut 5 Tonnen überladen, wenn man den technischen Zustand von der Bereifung her ableitet, wird es da auch Mängel gegeben haben....
So weit stimme ich mal zu!
Aber ich weiß aus Erfahrung, wenn man rückwärts in eine Abfahrt runter fährt, das der Beton trotz drehen der Trommel heraus läuft!
Daher läuft Beton auch aus, wenn so ein Fahrzeug auf der Seite liegt, außer wenn lediglich Randstein-Beton geladen ist......😉
@@ulrichs.4555 ich muss zugeben ,dass ich kein Experte in Sachen aufbau eines Mischers bin. Ich kann Ihnen auch nicht sagen warum kein Beton verloren ging.
Den letzten Betonmischer den wir hatten hatte ebenfalls 17 und 18 Tonnen am Haken.
Aber leer gelaufen ist der auch nicht.

Warum ist nur ein Reifen so stark abgefahren? Das lässt darauf schließen, dass der Spurwinkel falsch eingestellt ist.
Nein,der Fahrer fährt beladen immer nur auf den rechten Rädern zur Baustelle und zurück auf den linken Rädern um Profil zu sparen!!!!!!!!
Работа некачественная. Нагнали кучу техники - краны по 70 и 110 тонн. + эвакотягачи. Тоскали этот миксер как Тузик тряпку 2 дня, а итоге на колеса не смогли нормально поставить. У кранов аж стрелы задрожали. Я понимаю, что дорога узкая, но так не делается. Кто знает - поймёт, другим оно не надо. Диванные эксперты пусть оставят свои комментарии при себе.

За жопу развернули бы поперёк дороги. Каждый бы эвакуатор выдвинул бы стрелу и через полотенца через бочку.Двумя другими лебедками за мосты.
Но они побоялись что он перевернётся. И это правильно. Тогда надо было бы ещё подушки воздушные подкладывать.
Возможно работали той техникой которая была в округе
