Running Man producer Choi Bo Pil sat down with Hankook Ilbo just a few days ago to discuss the show’s future without Lee Kwang Soo, who played a crucial role within the variety program’s plotline.
His departure was not all that sudden [to us], so we have no plans to change the current nature of the program.

Adding a new face right away is a really bad idea. Let the wounds heal first then they can add a new member.. As long as RM keeps airing, I will keep watching and supporting them. 10yrs of love for the cast.
They got no budget anyway
The show already reach peak itself adding new members is really bad move because the current members have to start from bottom again to strength their bonds. Even se chan and so min takes long time to get used with old members before. Just hoping the show continue being funny even without kwang soo tho

i started the show because of some clips of jong kook on CZcams and began to fall in love with all the cast.. man this is gonna be heartbreaking.

Our Prince of Asia is irreplaceable however if they will try to add a member and not replace someone, I personally like Lee Sang Yeob. His chemistry with the current members is great and he is so entertaining.

the situation with LKS is different when they had to lose Gary.
it would be devastating if all of the sudden someone joins RM as soon as LKS leave, even after maybe 1 year after he leave.
maybe there will be an additional member in the future, but obviously not in this year

It's good to let the hole there for the moment, Kwangsoo's presence is too big to be replaced. If they add new members shortly after he left, the viewers would feel strange, and start compared him to Kwangsoo, it's not good not just for the viewers, but also for the new member
of course, no one can replace the original cast, even as so min se chan joined the program, they add more spice, joy and variety. so kinda impossible for bopil pd to find replacement similar to kwangsoo
side note: IF they want to add a member, i hope it's not an idol. cuz idol fans nowadays a little ridiculous, demanding everything (screentime, position, even a joke can be count as offensive) so no idol. sorry.
Yeah I agree So min and sechan joined the program they just added more spice,joy and variety it's impossible for bopil to find a replacement like kwangsoo what bopil make this decision is good because if he actually just add new member it will be an utter chaos and was a bad move by him I know it

LKS can't be replaced by anyone else, maybe they can add a new member (in the future), but not a replacement of LKS, that's different. For me, the remaining members need to step up more, LKS is a huge gap to fill, I remember when YSC and JSM (LKS is not around because of the injury) performed the "careless whisper" skit (to make other members/guest laugh), they made a "shout-out" to LKS, to come back immediately. Now that LKS is gone, the remaining members lost some of their "comedic" act (I don't know the right term), for YJS (lost the guy who he can bully and fights back in a funny way), for KJK (the toy hammer gonna miss LKS, so I think YSC will replace him), etc., For me, the four members who needs to step up more are YSC, JSM, SJH and HAHA. YSC should stop following KJK and start rebelling, if JSM was already crazy, she needs to be more crazy, SJH needs to participate more and HAHA needs to step up more with his verbal banter. This is my opinion.
I hope in one or two years, LKS will be fully healed and join the RM again. :)

When Gary left, everyone was saying the same thing. Then the slump began. To a point of near cancellation. Come on guys, do you think it's possible for there to have no effect when LKS leave? He plays a huge role, maybe even the biggest role in Running Man. Yes, replacement is a dirty word. Perhaps addition is a better word. Someone have to come in. Someone big. Someone impactful. In football terms, there's no way you let Messi or Ronaldo leave without adding new players to fill the huge void. That's my humble opinion as a long time fan of Running Man. Who can fill this void, now that's the question. Forget about Kang Ha Na or some other names that was mention. It must be someone at least equal to the remaining members in terms of personality. Cha Tae Hyun, maybe? How about Jessi?
@@spiros8585 Don't think you understand what I meant. As you said, Gary's contribution cannot be compared to LKS. And yet, there was a huge slump when he left. Eventually new members was added and Running Man was rescued. And now that LKS is leaving, can there be no addition? That's my point, adding new members as opposed to most comments saying no replacement are needed. It's not a comparison between Gary and LKS at all.

This is all that guys fault.. Who I mean by that guy? The one who hit Kwangsoo in car accident, of course..
He violating traffic signals while knowing it risky and potentially bring dangerous act to others cars.. And now that he hit Kwangsoo, not only Kwangsoo have to go hospital and treat the injury for long times, Kwangsoo also loss his only variety show career and have to focus healing his health..
This must fate. Believe in fate. Lks not forever in variety show. If not bc accident soon lks or other member quit rm too soon. Just root to our lks forever prince. He need focus movie or drama to be lead actor. Maybe he get baeksang daesang actor. Who know he aim for that.

LKS leaving and Gary leaving is 2 different situation, one cuts all contact with the crew and cast while I firmly believe that LKS will still keep in contact with KJK and the rest, cause he is so well mannered... besides, u think KJK will allow his younger brother to just disappear ?
