This has to go down in state of origin history as Queenslands greatest series victory. This was basically Qlds b grade side due to the super league affect and nsw had Andrew johns and filter who could argue could both be immortals of the game. Not to mention legends like Menzies, brasher just to name a few.. On paper nsw had it in the bag. That serious win not to mention white wash is the epitome of the "Queensland passion" quoted over n over today. Something NSW don't get for whatever reason. It's no fluke, luck or coincidence that QLD dominate origin today and who knows when it will stop. We're the underdogs even as the favourites. If state of origin were a movie? NSW would be the bad guy. Thank god I'm a Queenslander!
Lamb for mine was the key selection as a leader, having played alongside Lamb, winning the aussie 20s touch footy together in 88, and in later years another one in the 35s after his footy career, his leadership, football intelligence is second to none, gave me a glimmer of confidence for this series knowing he and fatty could win this series, alongside some great workhorses and defenders...whata series...fancy still celebrating this win 30yrs later
Awesome 👌 👏 👍 still cannot forget this sweet clean sweep by this Qld team of virtually the "last resorts" for the Qld team. Garry Larson, Moore, my trbesman Adrian Lam, Gilmeister who played and led with his soul 👏 🙌 ❤ ... I'm still replaying these 3 games just to get a lift when bored...💞💕

Why in the world didn't they feature a 20 year reunion at Suncorp for the 1995 Qld State of Origin team. It's 20 years since the immortal QUEENSLANDER!!! chant went out. Would have been massive.
It was the year John's and Fitler would have dominated the Origin and they were whites washed by a collection of Queensland players. It begs the question of John's selection as an immortal ahead of all the Queenlands greats. Was there an element of bias in his selection?
Fatty was not a great coach and he'd be the first to admit that. But he was the right person in the right place at the right time. And it didn't say much for Wayne Bennett did it. Benny had been appointed coach, but when the ARL banned SL signed players, meaning most of his star Broncos couldn't play, he didn't want to know about coaching a bunch of no-names.
+Peter Hunter I would say that it was just in protest that SL players couldn't play . The guys chosen were not a bunch of no names imo , second tier yes . No names , no. Did you know Bennett has offered his coaching services to the minnow nations for the 2017 RLWC.Now those will be some teams with no names .
Lucky for Queensland that there was no Ricky Stuart around, they went 4-1 down over the 5 years Ricky was first choice Andrew Johns being an immortal is a bit of a surprise, you's assume he'd have won at least one game this series.
NSW need to rid the captaincy of Gallen and let the halves run the show. n backs. # 6/7/9/1 should be the ones doing the talking and organizing behind the posts instead of Gallen barking to make n effort. We have the effort. Our halves and fullback play well and lead the team will follow and win more series.
