Shred the Red! Tour of Redhead MTB Park, My Local Trails! - Fractured Falls, Orange Crush + More!

Redhead MTB Park is my local trail system and I am very fortunate to have these trails next door to ride! Redhead is built on the remains of several reclaimed iron mines from the early days of mining on the Iron Range, and offers some incredible riding unlike anywhere else in the Midwest and beyond! There are tons of exposed iron red bedrock formations to ride, and the overlooks and views of the pit lakes are incredible! There are a good mix of trails at Redhead, and while the majority are very XC oriented, there are a few rowdier downhill trails that I usually ride such as Orange Crush, Fractured Falls, Roller Derby, and Rinse. Redhead MTB Park has also recently been approved for a 2 million dollar expansion, so I am very excited to see how this place expands even more, I'm hoping there's some black and double-black diamond rated downhill trails planned here on this amazing terrain! Redhead should absolutely be on your Minnesota must-ride list!

Fortunate to have these as my local trails, the views out here never get old! Orange Crush and Secret Garden are challenging enough to keep the progression up, and the XC trails are fun to get a pedal in. Stoked to see what an additional $2.2 million expansion does to this place next spring!

Thanks Kris, having Redhead as the local trails has been fun and I’m still not tired of the views! There’s quite a few other great trails I didn’t cover including one of the best XC rides in the state on the North + South Rim trails. 2.2 million expansion next season is bringing 10 miles of new trails and rumor is some of them are downhill. Hope you can get back up here for the new stuff and feel free to let me know if you’d like a guide! ⛏️

Not a bad place to call your local trails at all! That new lookout spur near Fractured Falls looked awesome! Would love to come up and join you for a ride here next season, get a tow in to some of them local lines! That 3rd of you on Secret Garden would make a hell of a silhouette photo BTW!
