- In this quick guide, I walk through the steps to configure RetroArch to play Dreamcast games using the FlyCast Dreamcast core. This guide covers downloading and installing the FlyCast core and shows you where to place the Dreamcast BIOS files. However, it is not mandatory as Flycast has a built-in BIOS that offers a good level of compatibility.

Things you'll need before you start:
1. PS2 Game Disc Image
2. A Controller (Not absolutely required, but certainly recommended, as it's quite awkward to play Dreamcast games using a keyboard!)

Thank you, sir! This video is super straight forward and super useful. Would you say one could have a solid gaming experience with this setup on a laptop running windows with a i7-8565U processor + Nvidia GPU with 4GB DDR5?
You could certainly achieve a reasonable performance, you would have to experiment with the video settings in the core options to achieve optimal performance for your system. For example maxing out the Anisotropic filtering may be a bit demanding.

I'm having an issue with one specific game Jedi power battles. Running retroarch on series x. All my other DC games run perfectly but with Jedi Power battles, the game starts to boot up and then retroarch crashes and im kicked back to the series x dashboard...I've tried getting a new rom file, using chd, and nothing seems to work. any ideas on whats going on?
hmm i need a bios the Usa canada bios european austrilian bios and of course the japanese bios to work this thing. on retroarch but I got the steam version btw.

It should do, just ensure you are using one of the recommended disc image file types.

@@jsjago might not be powerful enough. The only other thing you could try is to see if there is a standalone emulator for the Dreamcast. They sometimes work better.
