I’m a happy 2 year owner of the Ryker rally and if you would allow me to offer some advice? Stay light on the handle bar (light grip) let the bike do it’s thing. And I STRONGLY RECOMMEND adding a steering damper. HUGE DIFFERENCE in handling. Don’t add a bunch of electrical add ons. It causes unwanted issues with codes which translates into (limp mode)! Not good if your away from home. Other than that. Have fun!
What does that do? I'm new here so just attempting to do some research.
Sure glad you finally got your butt on a Ryker. I can still remember your initial statistical evaluation. It didn't seem to have enough power. Yeah, I laughed at the time. Ride on!!
I bought a 09 spyder last year, then took the course. On the course we learned on rykers and had a blast,so much fun.I rode the spyder last season, but missed the fun I had on the ryker,so did the obvious, sold spyder, bought brand new 22 rally! My husband didn’t really take my spyder out,he rides a Harley, but loves the ryker
Get the brake light flasher kit from Sling Mods SM6791. You won't regret it. Probably foot boards for Coach Vic and there is a hand brake conversion kit. Get her a seat back rest and windshield too! Tell Johnny to remember me. Esp if he can hook me up with upgrades! LOL Avid Ryker 900 Ace rider.
I got my Ryker a month ago. It was a surprise from my husband & my first bike. I love it, love it, love it.
You've said alot of the things I did when I compared the Spyder vs the Ryker. It's not just for around town back roads though. I just did a 2000+ plus road trip on mine.
Keep up the good work.
and you lived to tell about it,,lol,, did it wear you out abit? ride safe or at least try up in mass,,lo
We never grow up. Got to have fun!!!! And Thanks Johnny Fox!
You’re welcome 😄
Looks like fun
Excellent 1st Impression of the Ryker! I'm a two, almost three year owner and I absolutely LOVE it!!!
Very nice!👍👍
Great seeing you enthusiastic like a kid with a new toy 😊 The Rykers are a ton of fun indeed! The ACE, Sport and Rally all have the same engine, the modes on the model just differ. The Rally has a bit more clearance under the bike as it's meant to be able to go off-road (within reason) whereas the Sport is mainly for road use. Enjoy and keep on pushing that sweet content out, I'm loving it 😅. Note: doesn't the Ryker Rally come with a parking brake in the US? My sport had it installed stock here in the EU.
It does have the parking brake on it. I am having a ton of fun on this thing!!!
My Rally needed a steering stabilizer, made a huge difference on the highways.
Epic video, Coach Bob!! Such a great review and I’m glad to see you were pleasantly surprised
YOU DA MAN!!!!
I love my ryker rally until I traded for 23 spyder f3s miss it alittle bit til I see the extra storage power quality!!😅😅
It's a smile machine for sure! I love curvy roads in sport mode and hanging off it in the turns. I think they've solved the gas fill issue but please address the black plastic staining from gasoline on contact. Hopefully BRP will figure that out. Otherwise a FANTASTIC machine!
Looks like fun. Thanks Johnny the Fox.
Great intro to the Ryker Coach Bob - thank you. Looks awesome. Always look forward to your videos. Have a great day! God bless 😊
Great Video Coach Bob. I feel the same way when I am on my Ryker. I have the 2021. I felt I was on my in this video. All I can say is it is FUN FUN FUN.
I can't stop laughing and grinning watching you having so much fun!!!
I want one!
It is BIG FUN!!!
Get ya one , I got a sport in march , it’s my daily ride
Thanks Johnny the Fox for letting Coach Bob test the Ryker Rally. Great video Coach.
He earned it!
Yes sir , the rykers are a fun machine
Glad you were having fun! Thanks BRP for putting Coach Bob on the Ryker. I wish my 21' RTL had a sport Mode.
Great video Bob, look forward to more testing from you ,, keep the rubber side down,,safe travels
Thanks Coach Bob! Hearing you enjoy this ride reminded me its ok to have a lil fun!! Looking forward to future reviews!
I had the Ryker 900 ACE..I enjoyed it! I did end up trading for the Spyder F3S for longer trips and comfort..wish I could have kept both..
Thank you, Johnny. The Fox
🎉
I took the CanAm 3-wheeled course a while back on one of these and had a blast. I'm leaning toward buying a Spyder though. I want to be able to go on long trips. The Ryker seems like an awesome machine for tooling around town and getting in trouble (in a good way). Thanks for the video and enjoy the Ryker!
I took 3 wheel motorcycle class last year on the ryker 600 and it was fun to learn on and fun to ride
I am going to look at a Rally tomarrow.
Thanks Bob for all the initial smiles looking forward to seeing the additional reviews. Not sure if this is the bike for me. I look forward to you convincing me Thanks to all that were able to get this bike for Bob to review. Great video
The Ryker Rally looks and sounds like a ton of fun. I think you might need a bigger garage Coach Bob 🤔😳😁👍👍
Thanks Johnny the fox and Tom. Coach Bob, take it easy now, we would like you to be around a long time. But maybe Johnny the fox will get you a deal on a rear tire. 😂
Been dreaming of having one of these for 3+ years. Can't ride a 2 wheeler anymore because of arthritis, and don't like the typical "trike" bikes. Unfortunately it just isn't going to happen. Went homeless at the end of Covid, and can't work as much anymore, so I'm stuck being a youtube jockey. Love watching videos of them though..
Thanks Johnny the Fox. Coach we were laughing and smiling with you on your ride. I rode a Ryker during my 3 wheel (2) day motorcycle cycle class. It was a blast. You should let folks no that BRP gives discounts on the safety class. Highly recommend it.
When you get a chance could you take the Rally off road. I know BRP designed it for a little off road. I would love to hear your thoughts in that direction.
Dirt Roads are coming soon. It's gonna be FUN!!!
Looking forward to this series of videos. Your delivery style is great.
And thanks, Tommie- BRP
Tommy’s the man!
Yee Ha 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks Johnny the fox
After hearing your comments about lack of power I'm glad you took one for a test ride! They have enough power and definitely the fun factor!
Great looking ride!
The Fuel Gauge is crap. Reset trip meter at each fuel up. 120, start finding gas. Non Ethanol best fuel mileage. Try Sport Mode, and cant turn off all the Nanny Stull. BRP wont let you. Have fun and see ya out there. Ever down in the Keystone Heights let me know we got some zippy roads with hills in the area.
It is funny you mentioned that. Yesterday I rode 40 plus miles... and it still showed full. I will definitely keep a watch out for that.
Thanks for the ride invite!!!👍👍👍👍
I'm preparing a 70k km (43.500 miles) review for my 2019 Rally... Good bad and ugly. Service history and a few mods. Dealer serviced. Still loving it. No huge problems ❤😊
Very nice... Make sure you leave a link for your review in a comment. It will hopefully help your channel grow.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks coach Bob for this video 🎉
Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎
great video mate, good info
So I would like your thoughts on being a tall and big guy. I'm 6'-5 and 270 with a build like you and just find that fitting on thing is difficult.
I am 6'2" tall, 34" inseam and 198 lbs. I will be doing a video on the overall geometry for us taller folks.
Thank you Johnny the fox. Thanks Bob for the play by play
thank you Johnny the Fox.
I ride a 2019 ryker…was thinking about trading it in for a Spyder…until I rode one….my ryker has me smiling all the time…it’s funnier than the 2 Spyder I tried out….so will probably be keeping her
Enjoyed this video a lot. Really like thr Riker
Thank you Johnny!😁
I had a Ryker 600 it seems like it would sway alot I made one mistake! I brought it in for a repair! I seat on a Spyder. That was it 😊😊😊😊😊😊
I left with a Spyder F3😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Great insights! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much. I appreciate y’all watching. 👍👍👍
Thanks Johnny the fox!
Thanks Johnny the Fox
i just got mine added to my collection with alot of mods.
Looks like it has more vibration then a Spyder.
It does ... but, not in a bad way. The rev range and performance is completely different. Very "Sport Bike" or "Sport's Car" like in its delivery.
Have you noticed how other drivers move over for you? Much better than them not seeing you!
Thank you to Johnny the Fox, BRP and Tommy for the loaner to Coach Bob so he can act like he's 16 again!😂👍
😄
Nice video,do you think coach vic would like it
She's doing some thinking...that's for sure. 🤠
Ryker 600 is my everyday rider. I Love it. Its Been good to me. Ive put 20k miles on it. So far.
That is awesome!👍👍👍
Five E ticket ride 😂
Hey, thanks a lot for the video. I’m just about to buy my first Ryker and start riding. Just wondering how tall you are. I saw your video about how to sit on it properly and comfortably. I’m about to 6 feet 4, I’m hoping the Ryker rally will work for me without looking like a Shriner on miniature motorcycle! I appreciate your help in figuring this out. Took a test drive, but I was so busy enjoying myself. I forgot to think about how the handlebars or the pegs adjust. So help an old guy out and let me know if you think I got a chance of fit comfortably. Have a great day and nothing but sunny rides.
Thank you Johnny the fox and BRP
🎉🎉
Thanks Coach Bob. Say hi to Coach Vic and Baba
Wow. Thanks so much for your generosity. I will definitely forward a hello to Vic and BaBa.
@CoachBob3 I'm not sure where my user name came from but I am Ed Voss in Palm Coast. Can't wait to meet you in DeLand in November. Have a great week, brother
@@vossrtltd2020 hey brother. I have had a lot of users names come up like this. I don’t know if there is a privacy setting on CZcams or what. I am sorry I couldn’t show you by name.
Thanks for your kindness. Brother.
@@CoachBob3 I fixed it now. Keep up the great work on your videos. You've got a lot of fans out here
Interesting, but I'm really disappointed the 24 model still uses the same limited (cheap) display as every other year. The cheapest Rally edition is now over $20,000 here in Canada without even including freight, delivery charges, and registration! I could buy a $10,000 motorcycle that has a full color display yet BRP continues with the same cheap display year after year. Guess they want you to spend $40,000 on a Spyder to get a decent display, although that does not even include android auto! BRP is way behind on this stuff!
Hey Coach Bob - I'd really appreciate knowing how the headlights are for night driving when there are no street lights about?
I'm a shift worker, I live rural and a lot of my riding is done at night....My Spyder ST has the best driving lights of any 2 wheeler I've ever had 👍, I couldn't go back to a 2 wheeler just for the fact that the driving lights are so awesome 😁
Cheers
I have ridden quite a few times at night on back roads. Which are total darkness...the lights have been very good. My buddy and I were shocked when we did some lighting comparisons with some of my other machines.
Coach Bob is riding the ryker the same or kind of like riding a 4 wheeler. Do you find that you lean with it more than the spyder.
It feels different than a 4 wheeler. But, there is similarity. I am working on my riding geometry now so that I can lean my body more aggressively.
@@CoachBob3 thank you . I appreciate that . God bless you and the family
dumb question, i see alot of ppl putting go pros on their helmet but i noticed yours was on the handle bars, did you have any field of view issues on the go pro? or recordings came out pretty good? just getting ideas on where to sit mines
I run 2 cameras. One on my helmet and one on the handlebars looking back at me. I run them in superview. I can normally glance down and see if it is going to be a problem. They are very forgiving with such a wide field of view. Good luck on your video production ... AWESOME!!!
I’ve never ridden a Ryker but looking at other Ryker riders when I drive, I often wonder that since they sit so low how visible are they to other motorist and also how difficult is it for Ryker rider to see surrounding traffic while positioned so low?
I just released a "Commuting on the Ryker" video and I discuss this very issue. Large trucks that get close will have a hard time with their blind spots. When you approach traffic it seems people see it as well as my Spyder. From the side and the back, I find that folks seem to miss me more. So, I have to be a tad more vigilant. Excellent observation.
Hi coach bob. Does it have the brp go app and do you use the app on your spyder too?
No it doesn't have the app on it. It is a very basic electrical system.
Didnt learn much from that road test, no twisty stuff
If you get a ryker would you put the sling mod 3 piece lighted luggage kit?
I would consider this for sure..This would be desperately needed for multi-way trips. That said, I would remove them for playtime and hard in town riding. For that I would have a soft bag for riding to the gym, store, etc..
Do you have the 600 or 900 cc one?
The rally only comes in 900cc
@@hellobosco123 ohhh, I didn't know that. Thought they came in both.
@@catsareawesomemckinnon3393 it is the 900cc..it has a very nice power band.
How did u get one until Sept. 1st. Lease, borrow ??? Just wondering because I would love to get the spyder and the ryker for a few days or a month or so to try out so I could decide witch one to go for.
BRP Corporate allowed me to use it to run it thru its paces and make videos with it. I have a 23 Spyder RT base I am working with at the moment.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. 👍👍👍
lucky.@@CoachBob3
2009 Spyder GS SM5 would waste that Ryker
I see that you always wear the same pendant around your neck. Care to tell us about it a little bit?
Than pendant represent the IRONMAN logo. It’s a race of 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run all at one time. 12 hours and 4 minutes is his best time out of two races. His friend made the pendant for him. Yes..: I’m proud of his accomplishment!!😎
Coach Vic nailed the answer.
My 22 rally is great I rode to Galveston today.. incredible
AWESOME!!!
