water is injected through the cutting head. not to soften the ground. the rigs are rotary hammer drills. the water acts like a lubricant keeping the cutter head cool and also bringing up the cuttings from the hole. the driller will look at the cuttings to determine what strata they are in
Drillers cannot guarantee they will hit water. Some drillers will offer to try twice but after that they are losing money I think. In central Texas, the cost is per foot. I assume that is true everywhere. So u should pay less if they hit water sooner. All good questions to ask before they start drilling.
Great video. I really enjoyed watching the well drillers install our well here in GA. We only had to go about 80 feet. Nowhere near 500!
Must be nice! 😜
Looking forward to Part 2.
It’s been a long process but should have it out soon. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing the knowledge! Cool process to watch.
My driller gave the same statement about well placement. Did they guarantee it? Do you pay less if they hit sooner than estimated?

How long was your wait list before they started on your well? I'm having a horrible time getting anyone.
It was only about 30 days for us. We expected a much longer delay.
@@raiderdawgranch I called the up and low and behold they are giving me a quote. First time anyone responded. Thanks for the referral
Juan is awesome. He is still taking calls from us and helping out. Good company.
What area in Central Tx? What was the total cost?
This property is around Lampasas and it was about $25k. That might sound like a lot, and it is, but it’s all relative to the depth of the hole.
@@raiderdawgranch I agree. We're outside of Waco. Gotta go pretty deep around here for a well. Good luck.
@@raiderdawgranch we're in Burnet county and I called them yesterday. Thanks for posting this.
WHAT A WASTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
