I am blessed to buy my wool from my mom's neighbor who raises sheep. On a whim, I made my 80+ year old dad a bar of felted soap and he LOVED it. Felting makes the soap last sooooo much longer. I do felt mine in a bowl of water.
To be much more ecologically-minded, DON"T USE RUNNING HOT WATER! Just fill a large bowl with very hot water. Refresh the water every few minutes as you felt the soap.
Your demonstration is very nice. Simple instructions and you are so calm. I can hardly wait to felt my own soap. Thanks for a great video and tips.
Amy Wiechert Thank you! Happy creating!
A really nice video with good information. My daughter's Jacob sheep has lovely wool and I have some that I carded as a test to see if I was even interested in processing it myself. I'm not. Too much work! But I had the remainder of it sent off and got it back as batting. I'm going to try this and hopefully make some gifts! Especially for my daughter!
What a wonderful Video !! Never heard of this before, I love making handmade soap, I was watching wheel of Fortune, and this lady mention felted saoap so came to CZcams to find out what it was Thanks so much for sharing !!😀❤️😀
I have felted many soaps and use a small-ish bowl of hot water and a bowl of cold water. Please do not encourage that people waste precious resources by doing this under a running faucet.
Shams Zakhour can you use melt and pour for felting?
I never have used melt&pour, Cherie, but I can't think why not. When you felt soap, a bit of it washes away, but that would be true for M&P or cold process.
Thank you for a great tutorial - what a quick and easy thing to do. I'll be making a few of these for presents!!!
Hi, thanks for showing how this is made. My girlfriend gave me some felted soap and I was keen to find out how to make it. It looks so easy, I can't wait to get going with this next project.
Thank you for making this video! Very well done and informative. I had never heard of this before, and now I'm so excited to do it myself!
moonflicker67 Thanks!
you are the BOMB . LOVE YOUR STUFF.
Love the information, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Love the video, thanks for the tutorial!
Nice demonstration. thank you for sharing.
That water is just keep running,..... but great diy,. but you should use a bowl of hot water instead
Cotton Doraemon water cannot be destroyed it goes back into the pipes which it will be used or pumped back into rivers.
Thank for the Information, you did a great job sharing.
Hello, how do you add perfect decoration to the soap? Have you got a video of that ? Thanks
Will any soap work? For example Ivory? Or natural hand made soaps?Great tip about using the leftover wool.
Wow,Loved this thank you. Shared.
Hello! do you need to apply hot water again after felting the design into the soap? my son and I want to do felted soap with a dog shaped cookie cutter. We have made many felted soaps before but none with designs.
I have regular craft felt can I use this to make the felted bars?
Thank you for this video. I am having trouble getting the ends of the wool to stick together. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you again.
Realy nice. Thank you
Thank you!
Great. Thank u
When I made the felted soap I tried several different kinds of soap and the felting turned out beautifully but when I went to use it in the shower it would not suds up when I rubbed it on my body. Please give me some advice on what I am doing wrong. Thank you, Pat
This looks lovely, I have never used one of these, but are they hygienic?
wool is naturally anti microbial so no issues there....they just need to be on a soap dish with a rack or tray to dry and keep it from sitting in water,,,as you use the soap the wool keeps felting and getting smaller with the soap,,,its so cool
Sweet!!!
What a fun prodject
Very interesting thanks for sharing,
However, let me draw your attention to the precious resource that water is to keep the water running for five minutes :(
There are places in Africa where people have to walk for km to get just a
plastic bucket to cook.
God bless you ;>)
Some places, water is quite plentiful. You’re wasting resources being on the internet...
Airefresc Bcn she’s not in Africa and her water use has zero effect on what folks in Africa do for water. You all are simply being bullies. If you have a better method of doing this in your mind then make your own video, but don’t attack another who is just trying to help and teach. You have no idea where she lives, it could be Oregon or WA state that has a zero issue with having enough water since it rains most the year in these states. If you want to point out peoples flaws, maybe start by looking in the mirror and see how you yourself like it. Or better yet, blame GOD, he made Africa a drought dominate country. Last I checked this poor woman is not GOD.
What about the wool loosing colour into the soap and skin???
Ai essa água escorrendo!!!!???? O trabalho é ótimo, mas......e a natureza???
AN ITIBARIYLE KANALINIZA ABONEYIM MASALLAH SIZE
A wonderful tutorial very inspired to make my own now ,
Wish you had showed how to needle felt the designs. I tried and messed up
Where can you get wool? And any umbreon out there?
Espeon on internet
Wow
if you give this video a thumbs down, then you are a troll. Nice presentation, thank you.
why oh why waist that much water....
+Anna 1980 some states recycle water, like here in AZ. It's called "reclaimed water". not all is wasted everywhere.
CUIDEMOS EL AGUA.
🥰👍
Seems really nice, but So much water wasted to make it 😿
How is water wasted? It goes back to the earth.
just use 2 bowled of water then but she didn't use a lot of water you don't have to keep the water going that is up to you & your local water availability.
Briana Sheridan Several of my sinks drain gray-water to my garden. It's really rude of you to use this lady's FREE instructional video to make a political tree-hugging statement.
LOL .. Hug a tree and feel better about your self-righteousness ...
Desperdicia mucha agua!!!!😳😢😢😢
LO ÚNICO QUE NO ME GUSTÓ ES QUE DESPERDICIAS MUCHA AGUA
Nice but too much waisted water since I'm an ecologist
+Dunia Rosa some states recycle water, like here in AZ. It's called "reclaimed water". not all is wasted everywhere.
you can do it in a bowl of water I think
Thank you for the update on the water. I live in New Jersey and I don't think there is any reclaimed water in this state, is to much waste if you ask me. I know Florida does it and I think is awesome. Just concern about future generations that is all. Thanks good day!
you can have a bowl of hot water and a bowl of cold water...you don't have to have running water ...i've done it both ways,,,,
the water goes back into the city supply people.
It takes energy to keep the water hot😱
Wouldn't wet wool be scratchy on the skin? Sincere question not trying to be a smart ass.
I think it depends on the type of wool you use, but I've used felted soap before and it was very soft.
No not at all :3 It makes it softer actually
Damn in the USA you do not care about any precious resources.
I’m looking for a way to conserve on water. You left your faucet running the entire time. For 1 bar of soap! Ridiculous and so planet unfriendly.
Please, please be considerate of our earth's resources and don't run the water the entire time your are felting the soap!
Otherwise, I loved the video.
C
All these people bitching about how much water is used but be showering tonight night for longer.
Gtfoh 🙄 woke af
Sometimes ya know you can just watch a video and enjoy it for the content instead of soapboxing to make yourself feel superior
That is a lot of water wasting!
Wong Mabel its not wasted goes back into the pipes to be used again it doesnt magically disappear if it goes down the drain.
Maybe she lives in an area where it isn’t as issue?!! Maybe she has a well??!? Dear god you people.
I have never heard of "Waisted" water is that different from wasting water? Get over yourselves. She doesn't have the faucet wide open the whole time.
Get with the time and yes, saving water is most important, any amount of water...save save save ! lets see u walk miles to get it, then you might think it is wise.
Really people HOW DO YOU MAKE A ISSUE OF " RUNNING WATER" When knowledge is given for free plus if you don't like it bypass her videos! I thank you for your time!
kidablue Are you serious? First, it is a fact that wasted water is literally an issue already - no one is “making” the issue..
Moreover - people can comment about whatever they want to. The whole point is to share your thoughts and opinions; whether negative or positive. Therefor, people needn’t “move on” if they don’t like something.. they can comment any/all of the reasons that they hated the video if they choose. Duh.
We’re encouraged, in fact, to do so; considering it’s the entire purpose of having this common area in the first place.
Seriously, your comment exposes you for your ignorance and entitlement.

I agree that sometimes when taking the time to show a craft you might forget that people can miss the point and see only waisting water here...that if a person disagrees and posts they see people walking in 3rd world countries for water but find it ok dog you for posting your opinion that it's great someone shared a craft even if water was waisted for a few minutes..that instead of jumping on a person for an opinion that is not shared maybe they could go and spend some time halling water...time spent criticizing is a greater waist of human resources...thank you for the time you spent sharing how to make felted soap...The neg comments I hope will not discouage the next person in sharing knowledge...I will cut aprox one minute off my shower having my soap wrapped in wool ...also will not have as many wash cloths to wash so will save water there too...so in a short few days learning this I will have saved water otherwise I would have used.. so really it's more than made up for your ten minutes
Great. Thank u
