i remember worshipping this band in high school. i remember finally getting to see them live when i was 16 and it being mindblowingly awesome. i havent listened to them in well over 4 years but they kick just as much ass as i remember them doing.
I found out about these guys like a week ago and fell in love with them. Then on the same day later I found out they broke up. I am just so sad that these guys had to die, they were an epic band. :(
Whoever bashed The Unicorns just doesn't have an open mind or a diverse understanding of what music is or can be. In a sense there is no bad music really. It molds with your emotions and life style so passing judgment that way is just plain ignorant.
Roger Ebert has never made a movie, and he's one of the most respected film critics around. You can say that for almost any respected reviewer in any publication. You're not supposed to be critiquing something on how hard it would've been to achieve that sound, or how technical the guitar solo is, but just how it sounds to you.
@SillverTree Ah, but Ebert did write three films with sexploitation director Russ Meyer, his most famous being 1970's "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls". So that very much qualifies him as a filmmaker in my book.
@TheCrakgenius Actually here's where everyone is currently; Thorburn: Islands/Mister Heavenly/Human Highway* Penner: Clues/Hidden Words Thompson: Hidden Words
Holy shit! The Islands have a new album coming out?! Why wasn't I informed of this!!! And for the record, I think that both of their albums are awesome and unique, and saying one is better then the other is silly.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Unicorns they're one of my favorite bands ever, but I HATE it when I hear people say "Oh yeah! Well I'd like to see you do better" in defense of someone's opinion.
@swaggarificlalala They broke up ... in 2005 I think?? Pretty much broke up right on stage at a show in Texas. Two of the members are currently in the band Islands.
i see it the opposite really, i love who will cut our hair..etc and return to sea i only like a few tracks, some i skip. ive listened to who will cut..etc like 40 times since i got it 2 months ago. i love it. plus, return to sea is a bit more poppy, and eh! i hope the new album coming out this month is good!!! i also hope they come to melbourne!!!
Lead singer? Nick and Alden both sang an equal amount. Like. "I do it (For your love)" Alden sings the whole thing. I think the only festive person in the band is Jaime. The drummer.
This is so awesome. I'm kind of dissapointed with islands though. I heard that the new CD is played in stores like Hollister *shudders* and american eagle. What has gone wrong?
@uppercrustthe3rd y yah i agree islands isnt that great. but we have to remeber that islands isnt the unicorns (sadly). Music grows styles change, bands experiment....
of course they do man, i'm all for them! but ask yourself this question, where are the unicorns now? ISLANDS my friend. I feel like we're arguing over some trading cards, G's Louise
I love how this was like 2004 but it looks like it's from the 80s
They need way more recognition this is so ground breaking and beautiful like god damn
I know!
i remember worshipping this band in high school. i remember finally getting to see them live when i was 16 and it being mindblowingly awesome. i havent listened to them in well over 4 years but they kick just as much ass as i remember them doing.
This is probably the coolest sounding song the Unicorns have come out with.
I found out about these guys like a week ago and fell in love with them. Then on the same day later I found out they broke up. I am just so sad that these guys had to die, they were an epic band. :(
Why isn’t this version of the song available anywhere like god damn this is some of the most unique and creative music I’ve ever heard.
"Tuff ghost disappeared for three days"
"I go for a swim but I don't get wet"
are you saying tuff ghost is christ himself?
Something about this song hits me in the gut like a shotgun blast.
i need to make a band like the Unicorns now like right now
You had 3 years... how'd you go?
This is so cool, one channel, one song, one cool song.
We are Electric Dream Machine.
my god, i love this so much.
Underrated band
THEY NEED TO RE-UNITE. The Unicorns 4-ever!!!!
I was suppose to see these guys when I was in university, but I caught a savage flu and had to miss the show 😭
Terrible! I wasn’t alive when they were around lol
Just checking in 17 years later to see if this has hit a million yet.
same🙃
its a pity they got disbanded. i can listen to this song forever.
:'( rip UNICORNS my fave band/animal
totally blown away. awesome is an understatement.
Genius
The Unicorns live in my basement
this is really cool
yep, they sounds like.. but location are pure joy division-alike! ^^
@TwistConeBand You guys did a good job, man. Most excellent.
Tuff ghost tuff crowd tuff luff
❤
Gotta love that early CZcams audio quality lol
I LOVE this song!
That was awesome.
He's a stunner.
a HUGE shot, islands are decent, but the unicorns are eternal
i believe the story of this bands final show and break up is one of the sadest ive ever heard...
True true friend
This guy play the bass like eating fried potatoes! great song!
Whoever bashed The Unicorns just doesn't have an open mind or a diverse understanding of what music is or can be. In a sense there is no bad music really. It molds with your emotions and life style so passing judgment that way is just plain ignorant.
i love this song
totally unique and awesome
I love them! Why did they break up?! Unicorns-it's time to reunite!
gotta love the unicorns
i love that their music is very original and unique, not like most of e singers who sing the same, sound the same.. boring..
wow :) I really didn't know that :P
well, thanks for answering. Still a VERY good song. Love it.
yeah it's out now.
it isnt as good as the first but it has some great riffs.
yeah i think you are right, both are good albums.
Это прекрасно ❤
...that was so cool
Does anyone know how old this song is?
Geez, I love old music. And this song is one of my favourites.
Nearly 17 years old now

you could say that about any band, ppl were saying the same thing about frank zappa when he was around
i wish they were still around
@SillverTree Ah, but Ebert did write three films with sexploitation director Russ Meyer, his most famous being 1970's "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls". So that very much qualifies him as a filmmaker in my book.
This is from Zed, anyone remember Zed tv on CBC?
wonderful
@TheCrakgenius Don't forget about Clues which is the band Alden Penner formed after the breakup.
@TheCrakgenius Actually here's where everyone is currently;
Thorburn: Islands/Mister Heavenly/Human Highway*
Penner: Clues/Hidden Words
Thompson: Hidden Words
@imacomputer101 I think it's amazing. I like it about as much as the studio version.
it's not that this version is worse, it's just really different.
Holy shit! The Islands have a new album coming out?!
Why wasn't I informed of this!!!

Couldn't agree more 12 years ago Dustin
Oh yeah? I'd like to see you do better.
guy i their page u can see all the instrument the use!
audio is balls
The Bass!!
@acrogers11 Clues is so good, but I can't find anywhere to download their album.
Love it.
We covered this song, it's on our profile.
We tried to do it justice, anyways that's all check it out if you want.
TwistConeBand hey. Where's your cover :(
sick vid
Awesome song. Yeah its a lil different but i dig it.
creapy but fanatstic! too bad they broke up-they're now called "islands"
@swaggarificlalala They broke up ... in 2005 I think?? Pretty much broke up right on stage at a show in Texas. Two of the members are currently in the band Islands.
It looks like they're imitating post-punk bands more than glam bands, to me. But who knows, they're pretty kooky.
but at least one of them is gay, they said so in an interview
not that it matters, but it's nice to hear a band with gay members that doesn't suck
hmm this is much different than the studio version, but it doesn't appear to be live
Also Jaime left Islands.
So its really just Nick...
@SeanSisco Thanks a lot man, we appreciate the feedback!
yeay !
i see it the opposite really, i love who will cut our hair..etc and return to sea i only like a few tracks, some i skip.
ive listened to who will cut..etc like 40 times since i got it 2 months ago. i love it.
plus, return to sea is a bit more poppy, and eh!

i want one of those keyboards
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah soo sweeeeeeeet
@JohnnieRadical Lead singers bi.
its unbelivable how if that was anyone else but the unicorns they would look dumb
unicorns rule
whats the name of Alden's new band?
im a strong dead man, lookin out for himself
@JohnnieRadical Whatever I replied to was about Queen. Their lead singer is bi.
Lead singer?
Nick and Alden both sang an equal amount.
Like.
"I do it (For your love)"
Alden sings the whole thing.
I think the only festive person in the band is Jaime. The drummer.
@SaintJimmey why don't you try itunes..?
this song is pretty new...
This is so awesome. I'm kind of dissapointed with islands though. I heard that the new CD is played in stores like Hollister *shudders* and american eagle. What has gone wrong?
i love the unicorns, too bad they're no longer together and Islands aren't as good.
@uppercrustthe3rd y yah i agree islands isnt that great. but we have to remeber that islands isnt the unicorns (sadly). Music grows styles change, bands experiment....
Too much tuff luff now
of course they do man, i'm all for them! but ask yourself this question, where are the unicorns now? ISLANDS my friend. I feel like we're arguing over some trading cards, G's Louise
I Can see right through
See right through
RIGHT THROUGH YOU!!!!!
FUCK YEA THE UNICORNS
wow banga
Does anybody know what synth he's playing?
Why was it pointed to me?
I don't remember...
What is going on.
Nick can't do it all alone.
Its about man/boy conversing with a ghost
i want them all to be my boyfriends.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that was some lame CBC show in the 90s. Best performance in the world, though.
Alden isn't there. So it's not the same
I feel the exact opposite way about this version
You don't have to sell thousands of album t be a critic....
there is only three of them so...
they could have done a more interesting video for such an interestin song!
