Nice one. It's good to see small business Aussie companies doing well. Another thing I like about your channel is that you keep the whole topic (start to finish) in one episode. Other CZcamsrs would have most likely stretched this topic over a few episodes (obviously 4WD builds are different). Keep up the excellent editing work. Makes watching your episodes entertaining.
Thanks Hammer! yeah agreed! and yes it's a little long, but i tried to make everything fit! its good being able to watch start to finish in one video! Thanks for noticing :)
Totally agree Hammer. Nothing more frustrating than waiting to see the outcome and have to wait a week or two to see it. Well done lads. 👍
@@AussieArvos The length of this video is just spot-on for the topic👌 Even if it was an hour long, it's still so much better than having to wait another week to see the conclusion. Besides, your editing work made it feel shorter that it was. A clear indication for me that I found it entertaining. Keep it up 👍
Well done for supporting Aussie companies (incl. Evakool). I hope the boys at The Drawer Company pick up more business as a result of this episode. If you're in your mid-20's I'm nearly twice your age but you continue to inspire me with my own 4WD (also an 80 Series but an FZJ80). Well done on the brilliant editing. Keep up the great work 👍
Just a heads up to anyone looking to get in touch with The Drawer Company to fit out their rig, but they have closed down as of a couple of months ago unfortunately. Lucky Patrick got in first!
:(
whyyyyyyy
Absolutely gutted. Looking at getting a drawer system for my tub setup. Saw this video and LOVED the build quality and attention to detail. Very sad they’ve closed down :( Guess I’ll have to keep looking
All is ya really need is some tins of tuna and
a few more bottle s of Captain Morgans!
Great work on the draws and supporting Australian people and small businesses 👏
Love it! Good to see some young lads having a good ( and succeeding by the looks of it! ) Product and business!
Editing keeps getting better each episode too 👍🏻 keen to see the next installment.
This not being a 94 part series is so bloody nice!!
Nothing about you guys just alot of channels on yt :D!!
Looking forward to seeing the first trip away using the new setup, it looks amazing!
Thanks mate, yeah I tried to get it all into one! Cheers ☺️
you guys dont seem like the typical dudes who make 4x4 videos and its a nice change for once. Your guys approach is unique and very entertaining style
I've got no use for a drawer system but still looked at their website. Young mate talks about it with knowledge and confidence. Seems like a good product 👌
That slimline void above the fridge would be ideal for a removable/portable camp table. Looks mint otherwise!👌
EDIT: or a slimline drawer for utensils chopping boards, etc..
Agreed! About that gap, the reason it is there is because at the time i wasn't sure what exact fridge i wanted, so to keep options open we left a bit of room, plus i wanted a bit for height for the draws :)
but I will be building something to fit in there at home soon!
Yeah! I counted you said 211x Yeah!
Nice setup! I build one drawer so far. It is pretty easy as diy project. Will make more after my 6 week trip to the north cape in 5 weeks.
Give it a like just for the Australian Fridge.
Yeah that looks nice.
That's exactly what I just did. Rear seats are out, with a platform flat floor installed. The rear draw system is all kitchen. You might want to consider installing sides on top of drawers which go up to the roof.
Great vid.
Thanks
Fantastic setup, thanks for showing it off and keeping the entire story in one video.
Awesome to support a relatively new business for your new setup.
Thanks TJ, Yeah they have done an outstanding job!
MADE IN MELBOURNE, that’s Awesome great work fellas, wish you every success. Lovely looking set ups, with some nice innovations
The removable top section is a fantastic idea.
First few seconds, “Alright, need the forks” pulls out a spoon and some scissors “that’ll do” 😂subscribe*
I recon sneak another drawer in the void on top of the fridge, maybe store a cooker or utensils in there.
also the fridge is huuuuge, overkill in my opinion.... we managed with an engel 40l for a family of 4 for a lot of big trips, just need to be space conscious and meal prep. You've got no excuse for running out of cold beers now at least!
Man these drawers look so good with the slide ends cut out on the drawer face.
Where did this business go? Websites offline, IG flicked to private and Facebook no posts since Feb 23.
Shattered, was trying to get in touch for a Jimny rear setup! :(
Bit late to the party on this video Patrick but congrats on the new setup mate I'm jealous! I reckon you'd have heard this already by now but if you want to get that table rock solid then drill a hole through the end and use an adjustable tent pole. I use a Drifta one, works a charm. Cheers
Nice setup, I agree with your thinking in keeping the fridge low, no need for drop down slides. Ultimate touring setup for a wagon
To any DIYers out there. The rail system looks just like Dell Ready Rails (or any generic server rails for that matter). You can pick these up from used IT retailers for next to nothing. As an IT engineer, I know I'll be making a similar system to these out of server rack rails.
Aussies helping Aussies love it!! Another good video pat, love the content!! 👍
Mate, found your channel today while looking for budget 12v ideas and now I’ve been watching all arvo/night. Wicked content and you’re a legend of a bloke.
These guys are very well spoken and knowledgeable. What a great set up and streamlined process. I really hope this helps them out and business increases even though they look like they're doing alright now. The end result looks great! Well done lads.
That's a mint setup 👌
Camp chairs and fishing rods down each side of the draws out of the way with plenty of other storage space.
Great build and great to see a Aussie business doing these draws. But. A lot of guys get the rear draws, big fridges and recovery gear into the wagons and don’t realise they are at or over gvm. I’ve had draw systems before because I wanted to have things more organised, but in the end it just showed I was taking too much stuff on trips. I’ve had my tourer parked up for months with weeks of food sitting in it that I’d never use on 99% of my trips. Now I plan for the next trip, only pack what I need or will use and sold the rest
Awesome setup can’t wait to see the 12v build.😎
Thanks Shaun!
I’m aiming not to move something to get to what I want. I don’t want to lift and move heavy things and drag things in and out. All I want to do is open the door, pull out the draw and access what I need, with one hand. So, I bought a Norweld tray and canopy for my Dmax. It has draws, shelves, ladder, tables, lithium battery, DCDC charger, 2000w inverter and an upright fridge…..Sweet!
I notice the bottle of Capt. Morgan Rum - didn't know you guys were pirates. : )
Awesome, has given me heaps of ideas and now that I'm in Melbourne I can check this Aussie business out, support the local.
Big space above that fridge and the top of the wood.
Love the video !!
But my question is ....
Why do you need a fork if your making a sandwich?....🤣🤣🤣
The spice gold will do as bread 😂😂
Great vid. Seeing this made me want my 105 wagon back.... Enjoy the new set-up....
The Drawer Co killed it. 🤙. Man, I wish I was in AUS to go to these guys! Nice work Michael and Patrick and friends…. ❤️
love watching the 80 getting upgraded over time.
The one thing you need is a bigger esky for the ice cold beers 🍺
Supporting Aussie businesses 🙌 unreal good stuff
pretty amazing walkthrough, looks strong and reliable too
Currently going through a van fitout and i feel your pain with wanting to sort it but i'm definitely gonna steal some of these ideas. Also love the creative editing in the intro!
Thanks Dusty! appreciate it! yeah looking forward to seeing how this setup turns out after all the 12v, air/water additions, got alot in mind!
@@AussieArvos nicely tricked out, 😎
I have a contact with plenty of timber cut and naturaly drying if your man wants Bulk, varying types of hard wood. He builds beautiful furniture,
I am sure he could work out a deal for meter rate supply 😎
Hi Guys
Great video I am sure it will help heaps of new comers.
Ever cool fridge I have 110 fridge freezer & a 40 fridge freezer both unreal.
Thanks enjoy stay safe Cheers
That’s clean and realistic well thought out . Great channel mate
When Dan be appearing and they td42 guy
Was thinking the same thing
I feel the pain and agree with you. I'm going through my set up and working on a better set up
Awesome set up now, great to see you working with small aussie businesses. Good stuff lads
Mate thats insane great custom job looks great and very functionable.
Lol free fridge
They almost had to go get a mop when Patrick started asking about the 60 series. 😂
I also at first thought it was a 12ht, it looks different to the 60s you see every now and then where I live.
Would have liked a tighter fit on top of the fridge, but like you said you had difficulties getting the right fridge.
So they made it to fit 70-90L fridges that was on the market.
nice setup guys. Sunshine in Melbourne! Always a compromise between touring (overlanding for the yanks) or serious tracks with the weight. I like the modular setup. Im going through the pros and cons as we speak on my ute canopy setup. I liked how you got out and about a bit and worked out what you wanted. I always pull all stuff out and put near the camp and park away but that could change!
Let's get some "Where's the Bread?" swag going... :)
I know one guy who had a double bed in the back of his Mitzi with one mega draw under it! Went across Australia that way.
Hey Pat, I have an evacool 210lt upright fridge freezer and an evacool 65lt fridge or freezer which I use as another freezer and they're both brilliant mate, you should be very happy with the fridge and they're pretty good current draw, I run mine off 2x100ah lifepo4 lithium batteries with 400w of solar NO WORRIES at all mate. Happy trails mate. Seeya Rob
Awesome setup! Looks the goods and will make life a whole lot easier living out of the back 👌
I built my own drawers about 6 years ago and know what's involved and this company seems to have great ideas to maximise the space.
The only thing I've come to realise over time is the amount of weight in the drawers is quite significant, to the point I'm seriously considering removing all or part of them to shed some weight. It's a tough call to make especially when you've made them . . . . . . . . . .. . Will see how that goes 😅👍
Exactly. I'm looking at making a modular system that's easily removable. Shelving is great but it's so useless at the same time.
Subscribed. Excellent Video! Great information, an inspiring company, and also a fine story - I appreciated how much you showed us how jumbled and disorganized things were before and just how spectacular it all was at the end. Fantastic! You must be deeply stoked. Also, as others have mentioned, you gave us the whole enchilada in one serving. Appreciated. Keep it up.
Great !!! watching from Doha Qatar
All you have to is move the cargo barrier forward so it's right beheind the front seats then organise your space
Very nicely done, and the abillity to go back to a flatter system is such a great idea, my ors drawers in my gu annoy me in this way. An overhead net is a good way of getting light bulk out of the way
An upright fridge would have worked very nicely as well with more space behind the fridge for other things, but still a good set up you settled on, enjoy, and happy camping 🏕
The issue I have with upright fridges, their freezer sections aren't big enough. I haven't found one yet that offers as much freezer section as a comparably sized chest style dual zone fridge/freezer combo.
@@HammerRocks I guess there are compises with most setups, one has to be chosen in the end regardless
Please use stabilizer for the camera 😵💫😵💫😵💫 ( anti-shake )
Once again mate, great work. Plenty of thought into what You are after for your vehicle. Keen for the 12v rebuild. Great effort for great results. Cheers for all involved 👍
Yesss this is what I need to see, I have this exact problem with my canopy set up 😍 finaly
It made so much of a difference!!
Bloody awesome and nice to see a custom draw campany in melb will definitely use these guys
Yeah they have done an awesome job and them being local is awesome!
Geez the boys did a great job!
Great work mate
The problem with these things, for some people, is that they become a permanent fixture in your vehicle and you can't do anything else with the vehicle. And you don't want to be taking these out and putting them back in, if you need the vehicle for some other use. FWIW, my wife an I can go camping for a week or more with just a 50lt fridge and everything else needed, with only our tent on the roof (we could even fit that in the back) and everything else inside the Patrol, no higher than the bottom of the rear windows (and the back seat holding the soft stuff). Everything is easy to get to and easy to pack back. As for meals, they are all pre-prepared, vacuum sealed or in foil boxes and can be heated in a 12V hot box, boil-in-the-bag or fry pan. Been doing this for decades and never saw the need for a drawer system, especially as they add so much more weight.
Looking good Patrick a nice fitout. The taps on your jerry cans can be pricks of things to operate one handed as you would know, I bought some Supex snap taps from a camping store and are the bee's knee's.
Thanks Graham! yeah good idea, yeah the taps are getting old and yeah aren't working too well! so looking to get some newer easier ones to open and shut!
WoW thats a awesome place with some good Ozzie's young guys give it a go 👍 and there got some awesome and better idears as well ... big thumbs up 👍👍
What a great company
Great video 👍 love the Aussie made stuff . I also thought you weren't Gunna be able to see in the top draw 😂😂
Awesome video! Great production
Very sweet drawer setup
After watching scores of drawer reviews, these look the best. Would like to see different customer builds for examples.
That is mint, what a great concept, awesome build.
Awesome set up, looks fantastic🙌🏽🙌🏽
Ya know you do not need to go from a garbage dump to spending a whole lot. Building the bed the drawers, the shelving , carpet and the kitchen cost me a total of 45 dollars. You really don’t need to do this. be crafty. Save your money for the expensive stuff. Like that awning. 1900 dollars into I am. Or that expensive frig/freezer. Those beautiful solar gens. Then you’ll get to parts beyond because it’s a never ending project. Like the 400 watt 40ah solar I just put on the suburban . It will not only power the apocalypse truck but it can also power my camper. It gets way outa hand.. really now I’ve more power than I can possibly use and it lead to this... now I’m trying to figure out where to put a real coffee pot, and microwave... seriously.. I spend the last 40 years dirt camping.. I just shake my head now every time I add to this.
It seems The Drawer Company is no longer around, that's a pity, I thought they would of done well.
5:55 good luck looking for something in this fridge 😂
Another great video boys, love seeing a couple young blokes having a crack👍
“Yeah” 🙂
Hey bro.
Good stuff. Good info and very relatable. Mint set up now.
I'm sure you would have worked it out for yourself already. You don't need to put the beer side down to neg 4 with a decent fridge.
Looks the goods.
The Drawer Company website doesn't seem to be working anymore, really hope they haven't gone bust as I was really considering getting some done. Hopefully it's just temporarily down.
Great video mate! Got some fancy drawers now 😊 Subscribed 👍🏼
Is The Drawer Company still operating? They don't seem to have a website
"Where's the forks?"
Takes out a spoon and scissors.
"Yup that'll do"
😂🤣😂
Those are amazing
I might do this to my pops triton when we can’t drive anymore
It was a shock to me when he said when I can’t drive anymore your gonna have this car
Wish all the aussie companies shipped to the US, You guys have way better build quality for off road stuff
thanks for the sticker guys😎🤟🤙
Great video, and awesome to see a new growing business
Has the drawer company shut up shop? Seems their website is down, facebook page gone and instagram on private? Shame, i was really keen!
Looks awesome!
wow cool! very practical setup !
Yeah yeah
Say "yep" one more time haha
Haha! The bread will always find its way under your recovery gear!
Awesome video as always guys! So down to earth and real, the fact the word “grouse” was used so many times makes it so real haha. What’s the approx cost on this fit out?
Looks sweet 👍👍👍
Did you see the new refrigeratored draw systems coming onto the market now. What was your thoughts on them ?
got an evakool drawer built into the drawer system so I have a flush top in my tray (ranger). never had a standard chest fridge but I think it's the way to go. low profile, low weight and no additional cost for a fridge slide.
My old 60 series 3f motor done 750k . It even kept going running on 5 cylinders haha
