Finish Looks Awesome I see you used the Minwax Golden Oak Stain & Minwax Water based Spar Urethane but what finish is that? Is it Satin, Semi Gloss or Gloss? Looking for specifics thanks
I didn’t make any air vents. I thought about it, but wasn’t sure if it was necessary. The eaves are closed off but I could make vents in them at some point. Not sure if they would be much use, being at the low end. Probably will get hot between ceiling and roof in the summer.
I considered trim but didn’t do any. I got tight fits at the ends of the boards so I didn’t have to hide the ends. Also, the ceiling pitch and several 2”x4” wall studs would have required difficult compound miters to edge around. The only other alternative would have been to put up a clean inside wall before I started. I think it looks ok as I did it.
Thanks. I used 2 coats of Minwax golden oak stain followed with 3 coats of Minwax water base spar urethane. I lightly sanded with a 220 grit sponge pad between coats of urethane.
The intentional chamfered end joints looks awesome - great detail, well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great work

I used semi gloss. Also, I forgot to mention that I pre treated the boards with stain control within 20 minutes of staining because of the soft pine.
Did you have to cut for vents if so can you mention a bit about those steps? It looks beautiful

Did you use any kind of trim around the edges? Or what did you do?
