    UPDATE: BestValue Copy adjusted their prices based on QTY which is good news for print makers! You can now get your prints down to under 10cents!!!
    For Example:
    _ 30 Prints is 29 cents a piece.
    _ 40 prints is 26 cents a piece.
    _ 50 prints is 25 cents a piece.
    _ 150 prints is only 8 cents a piece! And the shipping would likely stay the same cost flat rate.
    So would be good if you have signed and numbered runs.
    STAY ENCOURAGED!!! STAY POSITIVE!!!

      I think Katrina means ‘archival’ grade inks rather than the ‘inkjet process’ - quality pigment-based rather than cheap, soy-based inks = more colourfast and last a lot longer in full sunlight [resist fading]

    I CAN’T thank you enough! I am a 14 yr old artist and I have recently been trying to make money from prints of my artwork. I have been researching the cheapest print options and all the ones I have found were about 7-8 prints for 20 dollars. I have a very small budget for this mini business so thats a lot of money for me. Then I researched about making my own prints which is cheaper, but constantly buying ink can also get expensive. Then I just stumble on this video where I could get 50 quality prints for 10 dollars! I now can sell more pieces I have instead of limiting. I am also glad you touched up on copyright. That is something I’m still conflicted on. I have some digital paintings of A-list celebrities which I know would sell, but I don’t want to risk anything. I was going to end up selling them since I saw others selling them but now I don’t think I will. I wish I saw this video a lot sooner! Thanks for sharing the secret sauce lol 💀

    Giclee printers were cutting edge about 30 yrs ago. I first learned about them reading an article about Graham Nash (CSN) in a photography magazine about his photography. He was using one of the first printers which cost around $150k at that time. The technology has evolved since then…at least I like to think so.

    Cool. Opened up the website and it looks like an igen. Solid machine. (We have one at my day job). A little clarification on glicee prints… what makes a glicee and an inkjet are the color output: ink jet is cmyk. Glicee can be six to twelve colors and have a pigment based ink instead of a dye based ink. Igen 5 which might be this model, has an extra color bay to expand the color gamut. The igen 5 we have has orange as the fifth color. Smaller shops probably won’t have this model but they might have a midsize machine like an Iredesse. Which is a four color process with a possible fifth spot in the mix. What that can be is a couple of different metallic colors or a gloss (spot varnish). Ricoh and canon make a similar machine. Incidentally Shutterfly has a fleet of 40 igens for their pod setup.

So search for "Corrugated Cardboard Filler Insert" and the size you need for your print. OR yoy may need to trim them if you're doing speciality size prints. Good luck!

    How do you make a digital file to upload to their website? Im new to this, Do you use a camera or a scanner? Thanks

    • @DJCoffman
      @DJCoffman  Před 7 měsíci +1

      If you're making physical art, you're going to want a scanner and a copy of Photoshop or free software like it in order to adjust the vibrancy of your image once it's scanned, and be able to re-size your file into a set canvas size. If you don't know how to do those things its a good thing to learn!
      I advise against just taking photos of the art, you get better results with a good solid scan. Some areas have print shops who may do the scanning for you with a bigger industrial scanner for a few bucks - Ask around at local print shops if they can help you out. While you're at it, maybe inquire on their digital print pricing! You may find a better deal locally!

    Quick question: I’m interested in getting prints of 5 different images- could I upload those images under one job? Im just confused as when it asks if quantity, in my head I want 20 prints for each image 😅

    • @DJCoffman
      @DJCoffman  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yes you can either upload a PDF of multiple pages (I think) or just upload a new image and set your quantity and it all adds up on your cart

    • @DJCoffman
      @DJCoffman  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I would say YES only because i know some artists who use it for their fine art. The colors are spot on.

      @xer0concepts Před 2 měsíci

      No… If you are selling fine art, get a fine art manufacture who has the right paper, ink, and process to get you the best image

      I don't think they ship. But there MUST be a EU printer doing the same kind of business. These machines exist everywhere.

    I love your channel but I had to chime in on this. There is a difference between giclee printers and printing prints from a deskjet printer. If you're just making graphic design prints that are just intended as a wall decoration for a short time span then yes go ahead and sell prints at the lower cost. If you are fine artist and want to sell fine art prints with more accurate color matching and archival inks that are meant to last for longer periods then giclee printers should be how you make your prints. Regular deskjet printers use dye-based inks that fade a lot quicker than giclee printers that use pigment-based inks. Giclee printers have 8 or more different ink colors for better color matching and quality compared to a 3 or 4-color ink deskjet printers. Giclee prints should definitely be used if you're a serious fine artist that is selling signed limited-edition prints.

      He’s selling cheap cardstock paper art prints and trying to pass it off as “high quality” pretty insane to see this. Imagine trying to say your cardstock is as good as Baryta Photo Rag. This works if you are selling at a comicon and people don’t know what the benefit is until the print is fading and turning color on you 😂 So yeah, can I save and make more money but I rather put in the effort to actually giving my art and customers the respect they deserve by putting my art on decent paper. Doesn’t have to be the most expensive but it won’t be some cardstock. This is what happens when artist don’t actually study the benefits and downsides of papers and ink. Just trying to make quick money

      I think you missed the point. If you have something worth selling, Your margin on that print is going to be so much! Sell two prints and it pays for your entire overhead. Of course you wouldn’t buy just ONE print. Perhaps you buy 50 at the 25cents. And also they do run free shipping when you order a certain amount.

Imagine my shock when I found this great company with sold Prince at such incredibly low prices I had to adjust. My hearing to see if I was hearing correctly. I received my order for 50 color prints at a dirt cheap price within 24 hours. I was also delighted to find out they were based in New York City. My hometown! This is one of the print industries.gems. Also, my copies came out, so good looking I don’t even want to sell them! Lol

    When each print is 29 cents but shipping is like $20 😭
    Can we print multiple designs as long as the size is the same? For example I want 25 prints of design A and 25 prints of design B, will it cost the same as just getting 50 prints of design A?

    • @DJCoffman
      @DJCoffman  Před rokem

      Well looks like they put it based on quantity now, which could be GOOD NEWS actually if you sell more.
      Either way... the markup is INCREDIBLE!!!
