Hey Jeff, I work with SQL Dev Daily and at free time i try to explore every damn option at sql dev and try to learn it by myself by intuition only.. your videos and some googling always help but about this report thing i tried to understand what it is about many times.. but couldn't really get the threshold to understand not even after this video.. may be my work requirement do not have scope for this for now.. also i always try to impress my colleagues with use of some less known options.. also i am only one year old with sql dev so maybe more is coming including this report thing.. keep posting tutorials its helpful and fun😊
don't be so hard on yourself! reports are there to help you with queries or scripts that you run on a regular basis. You can create them to save you time. If you need help, let me know!
Thanks for another great video Jeff, I just started looking at charts in SQL Developer (18.2) and your videos and blog posts really helped me. Do you know of a specific course (online) that I can do to help me make better use out of the reports/charts portion of this tool? I am having difficulties trying to produce a surface chart.
Hello Jeff, do we have a report of 2 database schema comparison? Currently I take screenshot between source and target DB Objects and is really tiresome
There's no report other than the DIFF scripts that can be generated with Tools > Compare. However, we do have Liquibase built into SQLcl and IT can do a diff. @@JeffSmiththat Hi Jeff I just meant I'm a long term oracle user and had noticed the reporting part of sql developer, I'd even tried to use it with little luck but never released it could do adhoc charts. I will certainly have a go at that now. Its like the data modeler and other features they aren't that intuitive to use so I haven't used them. Your youtubes have been a revaluation to many hidden features it's just finding the time to learn and use them.
@Jeff Smith Wow it can even do 3D surface charts, even OAC can't do that, although to be honest OAC would be my go to for charting and visualizations. Have a great weekend Jeff keep up the good work.
