Things people say to someone with Tourette Syndrome

Inspired by BBC3 episode 'Things Not To Say to Someone with Tourette Syndrome', we made a short video about the kind of responses individuals hear when they tell people they have TS.
We interviewed young people with TS under the age of 16, and their parents, to hear their reactions to the stereotypes and perceptions that exist around Tourette Syndrome.

I know some people say "I wish I had tourettes too! Your tics are so cute!" and it's so insensitive because it can be embarrassing and its not always "cute".

I remember when I was in 7th grade I was walking down the hall, and a dumb kid (who I hated because he was just a jerk) was beside me. We were walking sort of at the same pace and about 1 foot away from each other. So he could hear me tic pretty well, these are the exact words he said that I will never forget "are you a dog? Stop making that sound!" My heart dropped and I ran to the bathroom and started crying. That is one memory I will never forget.

has any one with Tourettes syndrome ever read the book" the unwelcome companion"? Cause I have tourettes and I can completely identify with the gentleman who wrote this book, he is a musician as so am i, and the way he explains what he goes through on a daily basis is mind blowing how accurate about how I feel on a daily basis.for anyone with tourettes or even if you want to understand it more, I strongly encourage you to read this book. it will literally change your whole out look on the topic.✌

Medication??? I thought there was no full cure for tourettes like-
