both are great but I have always liked the Munsters better because they are more relatable. Blue collar, working class, family of immigrants who are feared and shunned by their neighbors for being different (yep the show had clever social commentary). The Addams Family were ridiculously rich, didn't have real jobs, and spend most of their time doing frivolous, if eccentric, things.

The Munsters movies suffered from old jokes and corny scripts, especially Munsters' Revenge. Munster go Home wasn't so bad compared to that trainwreck called Here come the Munsters.
I like both shows but I think I prefer the Munsters. They look monstrous, but are actually decent people. The Addamses look more normal by comparison, but they are more monstrous by far.
I absolutely do enjoy both The Addams Family, & The Munsters in the original black & white, however I hate the colourisation of either one of them, come on leave them alone in the original black & white, because that is the way it was meant to be.
According to the featurette in the original DVD box set, the studio had to decide if the series would be live action or animated. However, every color episode would have costed $10,000 (in 1964 of course) so to further cut their budget, they went for B&W. The show only benefited from this as it made it feel more authentic and atmospheric being a spoof of the old Universal horror films from the 30's which were of course in black and white.
With the death of Lisa Loring aka Wednesday Addams in January 2023 her former co-star John Astin aka Gomez Addams is now the very last surviving member of The Addams Family cast. RIP Carolyn Jones aka Morticia Addams, Jackie Coogan aka Uncle Fester, Ted Cassidy aka Lurch, Blossom Rock aka Grandma Addams, and Ken Weatherwax aka Pugsley Addams.
