I’ve laughed harder watching this Elmo interview than any celebrity interview before or since. I was in TEARS by “That’s her! GET HER!” and then “Elmo’s gonna sue.” just floored me. I’m 22 years old and ELMO has me crying laughing. This is brilliant!

I’m a year late but I agree so wholeheartedly!! Elmo constantly interrupts him and changes the subject (as a normal 3 1/2 year old would) and Rove handles it so graciously! He acknowledges what Elmo says, plays off of him, and redirects Elmo’s attention back to what he wants to discuss. Rove would be a great toddler dad lmao
I think whenever Elmo goes on these live shows, they usually act pretty scripted and assume it’s mostly for the kids, but I just love his comedy. He’s honest while still maintaining that innocence of a child, and some of his jokes are UNHINGED. Really reminds me of those “adult jokes from cartoons” videos
The puppeteer Kevin Clash's skill is amazing starting at 2:03 where he gets you to believe that Elmo is actually kicking behind the desk where you can't see, when... of course.... Elmo doesn't actually have feet. But the suggestion of the motion totally has you believing he's got feet that are kicking. That's skillful.
I can’t explain how many times I’ve rewatched 3:32 just to hear him say “go” idk why but the way he said it just cracks me up and I can’t hear it without laughing 😂
The Muppet characters make for entertaining interviews on talk shows. Jim Henson and Frank Oz will just be sitting there and Kermit and Cookie Monster will give some funny answers. Same when Big Bird is on. Elmo does some of his best work on talk shows.
