I usually hate classic hits remixes. But I feel comfortable with The Reflex ones because it always sounds like the remix keeps the code, the spirit of the original song and only adds a respectful touch of magic in it

Using an equalizer isn't going to give you anything even remotely close to isolated tracks, he has downloaded the stems online for these projects.

There's a software you can use to extract the vocals but that doesn't explain all the other instruments and some of the exclusive soundbites in many of these remixes so he likely buys it all online as Aardvarked suggested.
