Awesome comparison! I started out with the SL2, but less than a year later, got the 90D. The SL2 is an awesome camera, but I outgrew it fast. I love all the extra buttons and dials on the 90D and they have helped me easily transition to using manual for both photos and video. The top display is also a nice convenience. Two other things that were not mentioned that some people may like to know. First, because the 90D has such a high megapixel sensor, a decent amount of older canon EF and EF-S lenses don't have enough resolving power to get the sharpest pictures. Thankfully I only have new lenses, so it hasn't been an issue. But, many people have had issues using their older lenses on the 90D. The SL2 doesn't have this issue. Second, the 90D has the ability to transmit a clean HDMI signal through it's HMDI out. This means that if you are using your camera to live stream via a computer and HDMI capture device, the image received by the computer doesn't have any of the info or the autofocus box. It also means that the screen on the camera will still be active and on with all the info and such. If you tried this on the SL2, the cameras screen would turn off, and in order to not have any info on the screen or autofocus box, you'd have to manually turn off the info readout via the info button and turn off auto focus. Another benefit the 90D has in this regard, is with the clean HDMI out, the 90D transmits a 4:2:2 color space compared to the SL2's output or even the internal recording of both the 90D and SL2, which is only 4:2:0.
Thank you! Appreciate the input. Yes, I accidentally deleted the clean hdmi output part during editing (not sure how) but you'll see it mentioned in the pinned comment. Super grateful for the contribution!
Sadly I don't have the money to get those cameras but it's always so amazing to watch u give all this useful informations in ur unique way ❤️keep the Amazing work ❤️
my uncle has the 90d, my aunt has 4000d, My cousin has the 1300d, my sister has the m100, my three brothers have the m50 i have the sl2, my mom has ixus, and my dad has 80d, and im so thankful testing the cameras and im blessed that sl2 has the best choice until now. Go Canon Family!!❤❤ Sl2 choses me as its functioneer and you are the man who make the sl2 as very best for me.
Started with the sl2 two years ago not knowing anything about photography and video and just recently upgraded to an a6400. I like the sl2 but I wanted to get a mirrorless camera since the technology is better. 9 auto focus points vs 425 ... just crazy. Still getting used to the Sony system but there are lots of things I do miss that canon has. I know the a6400 has nothing to do with this video but your review of it helped me pick the a6400, thankss
I’ve had the SL2 for almost 3 years now and if I could go back in time, I would have gotten the 80d. If you’re considering which one to get, I would save money and go with the 90d.
I have both the 80d and SL2. Image quality is BETTER on the SL2, so don't regret not getting the 80d. High ISO images on the 80d are sludge and loaded with color noise. The SL2 at high ISOs produces clean, smooth images with no color noise at all. I'll be selling my 80d, but not ever letting go of that SL2. Outstanding camera!
The 200D is good & I still use it for my videos because it’s a lot lighter and suits my travel-style video projects. The image quality of my 90D surpasses everything my 200D can do & is suited more for photography than videography. The 120fps 1080p of the 90D is the only useful video spec for me when I don’t have my 240fps 1080p capable iPhone on me. Honestly, I almost never use the video features of the 90D. When it comes to photography, the 90D wins every time. If you’re new to photography and don’t know what you’re doing, the 200D or SL2 is the only canon camera you should be getting.
I watched your review of the 90D and last night I bought a 90D body , I am happy with this decision having upgraded from a 700D. Enjoyed your review some of the more high-tech bits are complicated for me but basically the pros , cons and to what quality does it "does what it says on the tin" work for me. Take care j
I'm a happy owner of a 250D/SL3. Recently I bought an Ef-s 24mm 2.8 Stm and I'm impressed with the amazing shots you can get with this little cheap lens. When I bought my 250d I knew wasn't great for videos but for photography is good enough, and I use it exclusively for that.
Just finally bought mine! Looking forward to sooo much, even in 2023. Of course got mine for 900 bucks. So, some things are missing, some great things still there.
Wow, I was literally just wondering this. I have the SL2, but was thinking of getting the 90d because my skill has out grown the Sl2 and I want something that can do 4k and use the lenses I already have.
DPReview and Cameralabs review on the 90D 4K video is that it is soft, not as good as Sony or Fuji. Canon seems to be stuck in 1080P except for the R5 an R6
I wish Canon would offer some real competition to Sony for video in this price range. I am invested with EF glass, but Sony is really the better option for video at the $500-1000 price range.
In the same boat you are my dude! Placed the order today for the 90D to have as a primary body, and SL2 as a backup. Hope it's worthwhile - what am I saying, of course it'll be! 📸
@@servo.images Cool, I ended up selling the SL2 to a friend. The 90D is very similar. Main differences from using it are better audio, 4k, much better pictures. The 120 slow motion and focus peaking are quite helpful too. It really is a "do everything" video first CZcams camera. The Sigma 18-35 is pretty amazing too on this body as well as my trusty 10-18mm.
I bought the SL3 after your recommendation and 1 year after I have outgrown it. I'm doing portrait and getting into event shootings and while I personally think if you have the money just go with the 90D, you'll learn how to handle the buttons and you then don't have to upgrade faster. I didn't have the money and the SL3 serves me well. I just am now getting the feeling I need to upgrade faster than I thought, but that's mostly because I got engagements earlier than I thought I would 😅. And I really have to consider my next lenses well. I want the sigma 18-35 1.8 but it is for aps-c so I guess I'll get the lens and the 90d will be my upgrade in the future instead of the canon eos RP or R.
I absolutely loved my SL2 and the nifty fifty canon 50mm 1.8, what a great kit that was, lots of fun. Unfortunately had to sell it due to covid layoffs. I'll always remember that little camera as my first venture into photography. Great video as usual.
CONGRATULATIONS . . . after watching and enjoying your channel for months I just noticed that you've now exceeded the 100,000 subscriber mark! The quality of your reviews is outstanding, and obviously one of the reasons for your success. On to 200k . . .!!
I am looking forward to an SL3 Vs 90d Comparison! I think they will come out a lot closer. That being said, the additional crop on the SL3 in 4k video, is definitely a selling point for the 90d.
Just want to say thank you. Your videos are a great help in my decision making process, and I appreciate the work you put in. I have a SL3 as my first camera, and I love it. I’m looking at the 90D because of the weather resistance, greater control functionality, and because all the lenses I bought will work with it. I’ll certainly use my SL3 for years to come, but I’m often outside in the weather and I’m thinking the 90D will be a bit more durable. Thanks again!
I have both and primarily use them for video. That aside, the 90D is sticker on auto focus. But since the SL2 had what is believed to have the same image sensor as an 80D, they match up very well. I also use the Technicolor profile on both and in most cases its nearly a perfect match in video imaging. On the stills front, I use the 90D more because it processes images better with less noise at higher ISOs.
At first I was unsure about your channel but HOLY, I've been binge watching absolutely every single Canon sl2 sl3 and m50 video and they're the absolute best on CZcams! I think I'm buying an m50, and you helped me make the right decision for my needs. Thank You and keep making this great content!
Been using the 200D for a few years, great for photography (with a battery grip) but need more than 1080p for video (you need more pixels if you want to punch in!) focus peaking and more control over audio. too bad Magic Lantern haven't ported to 200D. Almost went to Sony but couldn't do it. Bought the 90D. I will keep both for a 2 camera video setup. Good review!
Thank you for this! I have the Eos 250d, it's my first camera, but instantly wished I'd bought the 90d. The weather sealing is the must have for me being in the UK, really close to upgrading, just the cost 😬 Love the channel and camera review's
@@witssen9954 It was an awesome starter camera, sharp images when paired with EF glass. The menu system is easy to use and learn on 👍🏼 I've now changed to the EOSR so I can use the glass I have.
@@witssen9954 I did have, I initially bought the 90D, but the lenses I had weren't great, the images were a bit soft. I swapped the while lot out and bought the R with EF glass. If you get a 90D, you really need decent lenses to take advantage of the 30mp sensor. If you're starting out, maybe try the 250D or a second hand 80D which is awesome with EF-S glass.
Same. And also I do Portraits and events and I need better image quality. If someone is serious about getting into photography they should skip the SL2/3 and go straight to 90D if money isn't a problem...
I was initially quite interested in the 90D, but due to the weight (with lens and especially Sigma 50-100), I've decided to keep a lighter kit going forward. I dont need a camera setup larger than me. The lens options for the ef-m mount are more appealing to me now, as are those rumored eos m cams that may be announced by end of the year. I like the eye auto focus, numerous focus points, faster shutter speed/high speed sync, etc options. Oh and ibis would be icing on the cake. I've been doing this lateral camera move thing for so long that I'm ready to be blown away.
I have an SL-2 and use it for video and travel and love it. For me, I would rather buy a Full Frame camera if I am going to shell out $1200, full frames will get better resolution out of a L glass, if you look at DXOMark.
Holy crap, this is the video I've been waiting for! I was at a Best Buy yesterday after a trail shoot contemplating trading in my SL2 (purchased last year based on TGT review vids) for a 90D. I'm so excited to watch this!
Surprised I haven't seen it mentioned here, but one major reason I love my 90D over my 250D is the autofocus. I use them as A & B cams for video and I absolutely cannot get the 250D to stop hunting if I have it on auto, it just drifts constantly. Whereas the 90D racks almost instantly & always stays pin sharp. I think the 200/250D are both great value but just something to keep in mind if you're using one for that.
Love my SL1 and SL2. Picture quality is outstanding. I have a full frame and an 80d, but I'm tired of lugging big cameras and weight around. And I'm not ready for mirrorless. I love the optical viewfinder.
@@chijiokeugwu9640 The main, and most important difference for me, is that with the SL2 there is less noise at high ISOs. JPEGs are smoother at high ISOs, especially in low light situations. This is because the SL2 has a newer processor. The Auto White Balance is more natural, especially in skin tones. The SL2 has two AWB settings: AWB and AWB (white). SL2 also has the flip-out LCD screen, very useful. SL1 is still a great camera. But these are the main differences that are important to me. I own the 80d also, and the SL2 has better color balance. The 80d has a slightly green cast, the SL2 does not. 80d also has more noise at high ISO, SL2 has far less. Again, newer processor.
Dear Sagi, thank you for your awesome videos. I’ve used/purchased my SL2 way back when you reviewed it...and never regretted it!. Recently I’ve got my hands on a EOS R for some fullframe action...but my SL2 still rocks for back-up video, or 2nd body during an event shoot (awesome portret camera in combination with a 50mm lens). Again keep up the good work! Really enjoying your videos and I’m always recommending your videos to my friends who are into photography!
Dirk - thanks so much for sharing and for always supporting the channel! Not sure if you caught this video using the exact setup you mentioned for portraits: czcams.com/video/DNA3JJZ8Tto/video.html Thanks again for the support!
Tech Gear Talk I sure did 👍 Although I don't use my lighting gear outside much... I might reconsider it again with the set-up you've shown. And...must be said: you have a very beautiful model (your wife I reckon :) ) to photograph 😊
For the longest, I said I was gonna get the 90D, but I've been so pleased with the SL2 that I haven't upgraded. (Well, I took my 90D money and put that toward my C100 😆) But the SL2 continues to be a winner for me. I know I'll eventually get something bigger and better, but for now, I'm getting my money's worth out of the smaller camera. Great comparison video, Sagi! Thanks!
Upgrade my camera from SL2 TO R6, one thing I learned camera doesn't matter creativity Full frame camera cost a lot + lens are expensive where as crop sensor are budget friendly with other assesories such as tripod speedlight, external mic, memory card etc etc
I randomly thought of this very comparison to check out and bang! you have a much needed video for it. Cannot thank you enough. :) Love the blooper reel :P
the camera in the profile picture is the Sl2 and i bought it because of your first review now im thinking of m6 mark 2 or just saving up for the 90d. Loved the review!
In your summary, you didn’t mention that the 90D does double the number of frames per second. For me, this was a key plus and was a reason I upgraded to the 90D. FPS is essential for photographing birds in flight and sports.
Great comparison. Been trying to decide whether i should upgrade from the sl2 (my first proper dslr) to the 90d or go full frame. Would really be useful to have 4k filming options, and the added flexibility of cropping in with stills. Obviously I could go mirrorless or full frame with my next camera choice but i honestly don't think i need the added portability of mirrorless, and just not sure if i have the budget to go with a newer full frame option and older full frames aren't really an ideal choice for me. Leaning 90d for now but we'll see. Terrific work as always
Hi Sean. I would not get full frame unless I really needed to (rather invest in lenses). For similar features to the 90D you can look at the m6mkii czcams.com/video/Nir8pfvfdFI/video.html Hope this was helpful. Thanks for being part of the channel!
@@TechGearTalk thanks for the reply. Yeah that's kinda the direction i was leaning. Need to get a few more lenses to have all that i want versatility wise. I am from delaware but live in australia now so it's nice to see philly in your videos. Reminds me of good times in the city! Cheers
I use my SL2 or (200D) on my CZcams channel daily and I get nothing but compliments on my Fremont Street Las Vegas footage. If you are a CZcamsr, Vlogger or just a content creator I highly recomend the SL2 over the 80D because it's basically the same camera for video and the only other reason I'd get a 90D is for the 120fps at 1080P
This is one of the reasons I love your content. because you tell your viewers that this older camera is still a great camera for creators instead of trying to sell the newest and greatest release.
I'm tired of big heavy cameras. I've owned the Canon 40d, 70d, 80d, 6d, 6dII. I bought the SL1 because I got tired of lugging heavy gear around. I took the SL1 on a trip and carried the 18-55mm and 55-250mm. The SL1 with two lenses weighed less than any of the other cameras with just ONE lens, the Canon 15-85! Having used some of Canon's best cameras I'm able to compare image quality and the SL1 image quality is fantastic! Side by side comparisons and no one has been able to tell the difference, even comparing the full frame cameras' images. The SL2 image quality is even better! Yes, the bigger cameras have some nice features and they feel nice in the hand -- for a few minutes. Then the weight gets very old, very fast.
You’re always a big help I really appreciate your videos. I have a question for you and anyone else out there. I have the SL2 but wanting to upgrade to another Canon camera for wildlife photography. I’m thinking about a new 90D or a used 7D Mark 2 or a used 5D Mark 4. What do you recommend or if there’s another camera I should consider. Thx Jim from Georgia
I just broke my SL2 while shooting my friends surfing. Camera got splashed by a wave and wont turn on now. Im sending it cannon for repairs but I've been looking at newer models for replacement and this was superbly helpful.
I own a 90D and just purchased a second hand Canon SLD mark1 I use the 90D for my CZcams channel and will use the 200D as a backup camera. I also take landscape, wildlife and surf photography. I also own the SL1 and have some amazing shots for that camera. Love these cameras and highly recommend them for video creation and photography when paired with good lenses. Thanks for all your awesome videos, always so helpful and I watch most your content. Best regards Marty
If someone is going to live in auto, take a few snaps of family and friends, and use photos for social media, then sure, the 200D is just as good as the 90D. The 90D is in another class, however, with a huge difference especially in video capabilities. A pro shooter, like myself, would always choose the 7D for still as it has better AF tracking, but for video will choose the 90D. So, for a more advanced photographer, the 200D is no where near as good as the 90D. Thus the answer to the question depends on the experience of the user. The 90D is actually one of the best value for money cameras in existence, with features that are good enough to be useful for professionals, but by professional standards, it is a very cheap camera. The 200D, however is priced about right for its capabilites and when matching capability to price I would not regard it as a bargain, like I would with the 90D.
I guess the new Rebel T8i (EOS 850D) is a great option between the SL2 (now SL3) and 90D. With the T8i you have almost 90D features (for example: Optical Viewfinder with a 45-point All Cross-type AF System with Face Detection) in a relative smaller body.
you are so right. If you have a SL2 0r 3 the Canon T8i is a very nice up grade. I now have both. I use both cameras on my photo shoots. 30mm f/1.4 Lens on one & the sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 Lens on the T8i. love my set up.
Great video and appreciate all the information you provided regarding the 90D. I have purchased it as an upgrade from the Canon T3 and in big anticipation of it's arrival. Have you done reviews on budget speed flash? Thanks again and look forward to your very comprehensive videos.
As a pro, I once got a chance to shoot with a 200D (SL2) and I am using 90D as my main work horse currently and let me give you a short answer: The 90D is better in almost all sectors of the camera specs area and the only time Sl2 (200D) wins is in the ease of portability. So overall the 90D is the better option and yes I will not mention the price as you already might know.
The 90D has internal focus bracketing - a great feature for macro. I don’t agree with your all of your lens recommendations. First of all a 24-70 is a very poor choice for a standard zoom for APS-C, because 24mm is not nearly wide enough for a general purpose zoom. And in general it’s not a good idea to buy lenses for a camera that you may or may not upgrade to in the future. So much could happen in the meantime. If you end up upgrading to, say, the R5, then maybe you should have waited and saved up for the proper RF lenses. The Sigma 18-35 is not really a wide angle zoom. It is, however, a phenomenal standard zoom, although admittedly the 35mm can be a bit frustrating when you’re used to the 18-55. Personally I wouldn’t recommend the by now very old EF 50mm f1.4. The 50mm f1.8 STM is much sharper, especially wide open. (According to DXOmark, when mounted on a 5DsR the 1.8 mark ii resolves 21mp, the 1.4 resolves 22mp and the 1.8 STM resolves 29mp - quite a difference). I notice that you don’t recommend any super-zoom optics? Of course you can argue that generally you get better pictures with the 18-55 STM plus 55-250 STM combo than with, say, the Canon 18-135 or the Tamron 18-400 (both of which seem somewhat over priced). But on the other hand it is quite nice to have the option to carry just one lens for all purposes. I got a bargain on the 18-135 USM (“special weekend offer” at about half the normal price), and I find myself using it a lot more than I thought I would. There are many great options in the macro lens department. Canon’s non-L version of the 100mm is optically as good as the L version and much less expensive. It doesn’t offer Image Stabilisation, but then IS is never very effective in the macro range anyway. I love the cute little EF-S 35mm STM with inbuilt ring light. Super easy to work with. People often talk about working distance (which is directly proportional to the focal length), because allegedly you might scare away the bugs you’re trying to photograph if you come too close. The Swedish macro nerd Micael Widell disagrees: Some insects will be scared away, some won’t, and the distance hardly matters. But if you want a longer focal length and working distance, you might still be able to find the now discontinued Sigma 150 or Canon 180. An excellent lens is the “Venus Laowa 100mm F2.8 CA-Dreamer Macro 2X” which is even sharper than the Canon lenses, has absolutely no Chromatic Aberration (hence the name CA-Dreamer) and goes all the way from infinity to 2:1 magnification - double life size. There’s no AF, but for macro work that isn’t an issue. The build quality is first class. And Venus offer several other interesting macro lenses, some of which are on the slightly eccentric side.
Another great video. I have owned the SL2 for almost a year and its been a perfect 1st DSLR. I hope to upgrade late this year or early next year but I'm trying to decide between the 90D and the T8i. My SL2 uses the same battery as the T8i and I rarely have used video mode so the 4K in the 90D isn't a selling factor for me. Any chance of a T8i vs 90D video in the future? Thanks again.
I have the 80d as a main camera and the sl2 as a B camera. The 2 things missing in the sl2 that I really with it had are being able to select any iso setting (it only has the option to select doubles, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600...) and the option to select Kelvin values when choosing white balance. It only has the presets for lightbulb, sunny, cloudy, etc auto and choose a taken photo to select white balance). I really wish it had Kelvin option.
I don't miss the Kelvin setting. I just use my ExpoDisk and take a Custom White Balance when needed. I have the 80d too. Images at high ISOs are smoother and cleaner on the SL2 than the 80d. SL2 has a newer processor, Digic 7. 80d has Digic 6. SL2 is an amazing camera. I'll be selling the 80d but not parting with the SL2. 😊
@@sl2608 I've been using the SL2 as my b cam for years and my 80D just broke so I will need to use the SL2 as my main cam, I did not know it had better high iso quality. But I really don't like that the iso increments is only in doubles. For example if 1600 is not enough it goes into 3200 when something in between would be perfect.
If you put the SL2 ISO in auto mode & select Max ISO like 1600 or 3200 it will select all those in between settings as it see fit but will not exceed the max you have set for it. I love using this little trick. Then all I set is SS & aperture. I do this with both my cameras. Canon SL2 & the T8i
Great video Sagi, your last video on the 90d helped convince me to purchase it and its an amazing camera. Would love to see a 90d vs Eos R comparsion, it'd be Canon's ultimate Full frame vs Apsc battle.
You really helped me a lot on planning to buy my very first camera as an aspiring Photographer thank you always. Ps. I really like your Canon SL2 / 200d videos Peace out from Philippines with love ♥️
Thank you for the feedback - I'll have to do a side by side to give you an informed opinion. I know there are mixed opinions about pixel size and iso performance but I want to do my own tests first.
Nice shot of Jimmy Butler 🙌🏽📸 cool to see the capabilities.. wondering what lens u used? Nice comparison video too, really want the 90d😩
Před 3 lety+1
canon 200d and sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 instead of buying only canon 90d. After some time upgrade to better body :D Ofc if you're using it for video, vloging etc ^^
Love the review. Just what I was looking for. Just one question though. Am upgrading from Canon 70D and have a few lenses. Which of these two will be compatible with them?
⭐️ Buy the Canon 90D: geni.us/jKAno (affiliate) ⭐️ Buy the Canon SL2: geni.us/tgtcanonsl2 (affiliate) NOTE: I accidentally edited out the part about the 90D having a clean HDMI output allowing it to record externally and making it a better option for live streaming. What's up everyone?! I hope you find this comparison of the Canon 90D and the Canon SL2 (200D) with sample footage and images is helpful. These are two great value DSLR’s for both photography and video. Let me know what you think!! Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
Great video always! You have one of my favorite channels! Quick question: Does the Canon M50 work with a small HD monitor? I saw one of your old videos yesterday and you used a different type of monitor for your M50. Thanks
90D is a rocking camera no doubt. The thing about the 90D, I want that body for long focal lenses. The SL-2 is my go anywhere grab that shot, easy go get it and a hoot to use too. Friends love the small size. I loved mine allot. The SL-2 does so much and does it in a easy touch screen and gets me in on the awesome Canon lens system. I miss my SL-2. Would love to get the 90D for my air shows and the SL-2 as a B camera and a great beginner camera because it is such an easy to use my buddies would do great with it. The 90D is a champ for long focal lenses because the bigger body gives more real estate than the SL-2 does. If I stayed strong with the Canon either would be awesome and I would make the SL-2 is a B camera and the 90D an A camera, but the thing is I am tempted for a used FF 5D and play around with Magic Lantern. Canon makes it so easy to find what you love. I have gone Sony but I can still enjoy the Canon glass with the adapter I have. I never leave Canon totally. Love these sensible should you and how and why. Most don't do this as well as you do. Keep the great video coming TGT guy.
Just want to ask I am confused between Sl3 or 90D, I am not a professional photographer just want to click some photos as hobbies sp should I go with sl3 and invest in lens or 90D?
IMO, the SL2 is the best option for people just starting out in photography and/or videography! I've owned one for 6 months and am just now thinking of upgrading to the 90D. Both are amazing cameras!
Is canon 80d is good than 90d in terms of price and the specifications because canon 90d is $200 more than 80d Which one or should I stick with 200 if I take 80d should I get and 18-135mm or 18-55 kit lens
I feel happy to see you phrasing SL2 as I bought one on your recommendation. But still waiting to know which lens will be a quiet lens as it is making to much noise
I know lenses are more important when it comes to image composition and quality but we interact with the body more than the lenses. If the body doesn't feel right or offer the features we need, it's not going to be a good experience. The 90D is as good as crop sensor DSLRs get. If you can spring the money for it, go for it. The feel of the 90D in hand cannot be compared to that of any Rebel models, it's just much better.
Definitely agree with the importance of ergonomics. The reason why I always advocate for investing in lenses is that the lenses will stay with you through several bodies.
Wait I got the SL3 for about $600 with lens. Why compare to the discontinued SL3? (I’m jealous that the 90D has a headphone jack but not for an extra $600!)
I love this video, whats the odds we get a SL2 or SL3 to a RP ? I feel that the RP is a SL2 but full frame. As always keep rocking, this is one of my most watched channels.
Appreciate you Aaron. I would only go RP if you convinced me that I absolutely need full frame. Then there would be a discussion of resolution, then I would pick. Hope that makes sense!
Hi, I'm a beginner photographer and i want to buy an entry level camera, but I can't decide between Nikon D3500 and Canon Rebel SL3. I would mostly use it for taking pictures and not videos. Thanks in advance, your videos help me a lot
Hi. If you’re not doing video, get the Nikon. If you’ll also want video and/or streaming, the canon. Hope that helps. Thanks for being part of the channel!
Hey, great review... Just want to say can you please review the Fujifilm XT200 camera... You publish great reviews and nobody is near you in youtube as you go really deep in your review. Just a small request please review Fujifilm XT200...
Sadly I don't have the money to get those cameras but it's always so amazing to watch u give all this useful informations in ur unique way ❤️keep the Amazing work ❤️
Glad you like them and grateful for your support!
my uncle has the 90d, my aunt has 4000d, My cousin has the 1300d, my sister has the m100, my three brothers have the m50 i have the sl2, my mom has ixus, and my dad has 80d, and im so thankful testing the cameras and im blessed that sl2 has the best choice until now. Go Canon Family!!❤❤ Sl2 choses me as its functioneer and you are the man who make the sl2 as very best for me.
Appreciate you sharing - looks like you have a lot of lenses you can borrow!
@@TechGearTalk yah i even borrowed lenses on my classmates!
Super appreciate you sharing your journey with me!
One of the few true professionals. Great review!
Appreciate you Nikola!
Loving the 200D myself: light to carry, flip screen, good sensor - great value for money. Isn't my last camera but glad to have it.
That's a very compelling argument 👍
I’ve had the SL2 for almost 3 years now and if I could go back in time, I would have gotten the 80d. If you’re considering which one to get, I would save money and go with the 90d.
i guess I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to watch new series online ?
Great video, My 200D is still fantastic in 2020.
Thank you and agree - still good!
Amen! That it is, even in 2021! 📸
Super glad this was helpful David!
I have the SL2 and it’s a great camera, I’ve gotten some great landscape shots with it
Awesome to hear Byron!
I absolutely loved my SL2 and the nifty fifty canon 50mm 1.8, what a great kit that was, lots of fun. Unfortunately had to sell it due to covid layoffs. I'll always remember that little camera as my first venture into photography.
Great video as usual.
Sorry to hear about that Steve. Hope things pick up
Oof I'm sorry to hear that Steve. You should get that camera back! Being covid laid off is the best time to have a camera!
CONGRATULATIONS . . . after watching and enjoying your channel for months I just noticed that you've now exceeded the 100,000 subscriber mark! The quality of your reviews is outstanding, and obviously one of the reasons for your success. On to 200k . . .!!
Thanks so much - appreciate the support and kind words! On to 200k!!
I have the 200d/SL2. I was also thinking of upgrading to the 90d and lo and behold, you drop this video. Many thanks.
I'm here to help 👊
Iam not planning to anyone of this camera..but I like to see your comparisons...
Thank you so much my friend!
The ninety-do. Thanks for the comparison. I’m sharing this with my friend who just got his 90D last week.
ninety-do to you as well 😂🤣
I use 3 90d’s for my channel. I just watched this because I love your reviews. Congrats on the 100K subs man. Well deserved.
Hey, I just noticed your final thoughts time stamp isn’t correct in case you want to take a look at it. Thanks again for a great comparison.
That's a super nice setup! Thanks for the congrats 🙏
Appreciate you pointing out the time stamp issue - corrected!
@@TechGearTalk No problem. Keep up the great reviews.
👊
I have both and primarily use them for video. That aside, the 90D is sticker on auto focus. But since the SL2 had what is believed to have the same image sensor as an 80D, they match up very well. I also use the Technicolor profile on both and in most cases its nearly a perfect match in video imaging. On the stills front, I use the 90D more because it processes images better with less noise at higher ISOs.
SUPER appreciate your input!
I have a t3i and I'd like to upgrade to the 90D so I can take my photography to the next level.
I have an SL2 and got the 90D when I was upgrading to a two camera system. Best odd both worlds. Lol
you have it all!!!
That's what I have done! Awaiting the arrival of my 90D. Looking forward to using it for shoots and videos! 📸
Thank you for this! I have the Eos 250d, it's my first camera, but instantly wished I'd bought the 90d. The weather sealing is the must have for me being in the UK, really close to upgrading, just the cost 😬 Love the channel and camera review's
So glad it was helpful. Appreciate the kind words and you being part of the channel!
@@steelynick but for the EOS R you can not use lenses that are made for crop sensor that easily :/
Super good assessment.
Why didn't you compare the 90D to the SL3 ? 🤷🏽♂️
It’s coming!
This x 10 just bought the SL3 for $460 with STM IS lens
I bought the SLR 3 because of you! I feel you you like the slr2 more lol.
Yes, please I want to know if I should go with the SL3 or spend more and go with 90D.
@@TechGearTalk Is the SL3 vs 90d still coming?
I have an SL-2 and use it for video and travel and love it. For me, I would rather buy a Full Frame camera if I am going to shell out $1200, full frames will get better resolution out of a L glass, if you look at DXOMark.
Appreciate the insight.
Holy crap, this is the video I've been waiting for! I was at a Best Buy yesterday after a trail shoot contemplating trading in my SL2 (purchased last year based on TGT review vids) for a 90D. I'm so excited to watch this!
Hope it’s helpful!
@@TechGearTalk It definitely was, I know now what I have to do. Keep the SL2 and buy the 90D haha.
Quality comparison! Wish I could afford that 90D
Appreciate the kind words! Take your time and use what you have. Thanks for being part of and supporting the channel!
Great video IJust ordered the 90D as an upgrade to my beginner T100 can't wait!
Thanks.
I have actually both and am happy with both of them.
The SL2/EOS200D/Kiss X9 is my backup camera.
That's nice to have 👍
The SL2 is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
No doubt!
Couldn't agree more! 📸
Love my SL1 and SL2. Picture quality is outstanding. I have a full frame and an 80d, but I'm tired of lugging big cameras and weight around. And I'm not ready for mirrorless. I love the optical viewfinder.
What is your comparism bw sl1 and 2. Is there much difference?
@@sl2608 Thank you so much.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for sharing with everyone. I think it's really valuable to hear different perspectives and experiences! Appreciate you Jay!
Fantastic comparison video. Really enjoying the channel!
Super glad you liked it. Thank you for the support
The new sl3 takes the cake. It has digic 8 and eye autofucus ❤️
Yessir,I just bought it, check my channel 💥
Upgrade my camera from SL2 TO R6, one thing I learned camera doesn't matter creativity
Full frame camera cost a lot + lens are expensive where as crop sensor are budget friendly with other assesories such as tripod speedlight, external mic, memory card etc etc
I randomly thought of this very comparison to check out and bang! you have a much needed video for it. Cannot thank you enough. :)
Love the blooper reel :P
the camera in the profile picture is the Sl2 and i bought it because of your first review now im thinking of m6 mark 2 or just saving up for the 90d. Loved the review!
Glad I could help. Here is a 90d vs m6mkii video: czcams.com/video/TbZtes_JyGk/video.html
Thank you for the feedback! I think for most users, taking the time to learn how to use the gear will get much better results than an upgrade.
If you choose the 5D Mark 3 or 4 you can use a 50mm 1.8 Stm for £100/150, and you get one of the sharpest and cheapest lense out there.
I just broke my SL2 while shooting my friends surfing. Camera got splashed by a wave and wont turn on now. Im sending it cannon for repairs but I've been looking at newer models for replacement and this was superbly helpful.
So sorry to hear about your SL2...
Hope everything works out and glad this video was helpful.

@@TechGearTalk thank you
If someone is going to live in auto, take a few snaps of family and friends, and use photos for social media, then sure, the 200D is just as good as the 90D.
Awesome overview and analysis! Appreciate you contributing to the community 🙏
I guess the new Rebel T8i (EOS 850D) is a great option between the SL2 (now SL3) and 90D.
With the T8i you have almost 90D features (for example: Optical Viewfinder with a 45-point All Cross-type AF System with Face Detection) in a relative smaller body.
Yes, that it a good option!
you are so right.
Oh nice, I was looking for exactly this video the last weeks. Still got here on time!
So glad I got it published in time. Thanks for being part of the channel!
As always I loved your video , but can you do the comparison with the sl3 / 250d
Yes, I have it shot, working on it!
Thank you so much for another camera comparison video!
You're very welcome - thanks for the support!
Hi John - I'll see if I can get a hold of one. I need a gofundme for all these bodies, LOL!
That's a good call Andres - selecting ISO in 1/3 of a stop settings and the K options for WB are valuable features.
Canon SL2 & the T8i
@@djjohnson178 nice trick I will have to give it a try!
Great video Sagi, your last video on the 90d helped convince me to purchase it and its an amazing camera. Would love to see a 90d vs Eos R comparsion, it'd be Canon's ultimate Full frame vs Apsc battle.
Appreciate the kind words and support. So glad you love yours! That's a good idea for a video! (Sagi)
Great video sir.
My request to you do a review with some lens on "SL2"
Like using zoom, kit, prime & macro lens on SL2. 🙏🏼
Here you go: czcams.com/video/UUPqjPs5Iw8/video.html
I have the SL2 great video choice. 24fps
You really helped me a lot on planning to buy my very first camera as an aspiring Photographer thank you always.
Ps. I really like your Canon SL2 / 200d videos
Peace out from Philippines with love ♥️
So glad I've been able to help - thank you for the support!
I've been thinking about it a lot and I'll go for SL2 because it's budget friendly but killer.
Great comparison video as usual, Sagi. How does low light performance compare?
Thank you for the feedback - I'll have to do a side by side to give you an informed opinion. I know there are mixed opinions about pixel size and iso performance but I want to do my own tests first.
You should have compare sl3 and 90 d.
Working on it
Would be awsome video.. I have the SL3 .. is worth upgrading to 90d
A great video for me . Loved the idea and really learned a lot .
Glad you liked it. Thanks for being part of the channel.
Nice shot of Jimmy Butler 🙌🏽📸 cool to see the capabilities.. wondering what lens u used?
Nice comparison video too, really want the 90d😩
canon 200d and sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 instead of buying only canon 90d. After some time upgrade to better body :D Ofc if you're using it for video, vloging etc ^^
Such a great lens!
Love the review. Just what I was looking for. Just one question though. Am upgrading from Canon 70D and have a few lenses. Which of these two will be compatible with them?
Thank you. Both are compatible.
Thank you for this, amazing review!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for being part of the channel!

NOTE: I accidentally edited out the part about the 90D having a clean HDMI output allowing it to record externally and making it a better option for live streaming.
I started watching this 58 minutes after it was uploaded
hope it's helpful!
@@TechGearTalk Yes please, saving for the 90d
Really good videos! Thank you! I would like to hear about crop factors and maybe you can also tell about f-stop and crop factor. Thank you again
I got you!
Great video always! You have one of my favorite channels! Quick question: Does the Canon M50 work with a small HD monitor? I saw one of your old videos yesterday and you used a different type of monitor for your M50. Thanks
Hi and thank you. I don't have a smallHD, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Thank you for all the information you provide.
I'm watching all of your videos and I think I should wait for m50 mark ii.
You are very welcome - glad they are helpful!
Appreciate you always contributing to the community Vincent!
Please make a video on sl3 vs 90d 🙏
Just want to ask I am confused between Sl3 or 90D, I am not a professional photographer just want to click some photos as hobbies sp should I go with sl3 and invest in lens or 90D?
IMO, the SL2 is the best option for people just starting out in photography and/or videography! I've owned one for 6 months and am just now thinking of upgrading to the 90D. Both are amazing cameras!
Very good perspective Joey!
Just ordered the sl3 today..
Me too💯
I think in the comparison video you should count the score of the cmera on the screen.
Interesting idea!
Hi, what the camera that you are using for this video?
do you think the canon sl2 is a good buy at the end of 2020? or better the sl3
Your reviews are the best thanx a lot
So glad you liked them! Thank you for the kind words.
my fav camera 90 d..i think i will buy soon
It is wonderful! Thanks for being part of and supporting the channel!
@@TechGearTalk ya..you are welcome bro
🙏🏻
Is canon 80d is good than 90d in terms of price and the specifications because canon 90d is $200 more than 80d Which one or should I stick with 200 if I take 80d should I get and 18-135mm or 18-55 kit lens
I feel happy to see you phrasing SL2 as I bought one on your recommendation. But still waiting to know which lens will be a quiet lens as it is making to much noise
STM lenses are usually quieter. I would also invest in a mic
@@TechGearTalk thank you for your response. I do have the Boya lever mic need only the lens now. So will try to get one
I have the 200d love it ... Will upgrade to @6100 soon. Nice video ✌️
Thanks for the feedback!
Wait I got the SL3 for about $600 with lens. Why compare to the discontinued SL3? (I’m jealous that the 90D has a headphone jack but not for an extra $600!)
Hi Deb - I've got an SL3 comparison coming as well! That mic is a good option when there is no headphone jack.
Question; i have a Collection of EF lenses and want to upgrade a very old camera do i need an adaptor for the 90D
Hi there. No, EF lenses will fit on the 90D
@@TechGearTalk thx i tried finding this info on my own but couldn't find a Y/N answer
Thanks. Very helpful.
Super glad to hear that
I love this video, whats the odds we get a SL2 or SL3 to a RP ? I feel that the RP is a SL2 but full frame. As always keep rocking, this is one of my most watched channels.
Appreciate you Aaron. I would only go RP if you convinced me that I absolutely need full frame. Then there would be a discussion of resolution, then I would pick. Hope that makes sense!
@@TechGearTalk makes total sense.
Awesome video 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽📸, I’m getting the 90D.., I’m upgrading from the 70D🔥🔥.. what was the accessory at the end? Was it a flash???
It was a flash/strobe. Watch this: czcams.com/video/DNA3JJZ8Tto/video.html
Thanks for being part of the channel!
Hey, great review... Just want to say can you please review the Fujifilm XT200 camera... You publish great reviews and nobody is near you in youtube as you go really deep in your review. Just a small request please review Fujifilm XT200...
Still trying to get one.
@@TechGearTalk I hope you get one soon
Ow now you thrown a spanner in the works! I was set on getting the rp now the 90d seems like a better option.
Sorry... czcams.com/video/rg1dqcjDpSo/video.html
