I can’t even begin to explain how BTS has helped me and affected me. No other group, artist, celebrity, has done this to me. I just automatically tear up to their songs. MVs. Speeches. Having fun and being silly. Being humble. Expressing gratitude. Even 10 second fan clips. Anything they do. It affects me. I can’t even explain. No one can truly understand. Only ARMY who found them thru the dark times can understand. And that’s what makes army so strong and loyal to the kings.
My only ONE regret is that I didn’t discover them sooner.

I'm an American woman, aged 58. BTS is the ONLY band I've ever thought of as "Worthy to inherit the Crown, established in 1964". Unfortunately my fellow fans from 1964 refuse to see that BTS have all it takes to go that same distance. I fully believe, long after I'm gone that the members of BTS will be composing, producing, and performing (although they may not be dancing much past middle age). And just like "That band from 1964", I expect to see two and three generations of ARMY enjoying BTS.
The pandemic failed to kill the enthusiasm for BTS, and I seriously doubt their upcoming military service will do their career any harm either. It may even increase their popularity the way being drafted helped Elvis to remain popular.
And, as for ARMY. I consider myself part of the rapidly growing "Gray ARMY". I purple you all.

I am 68 years old and understand exactly what he's saying. People should take the time to try and read and understand other cultures. I will never understand hate and bigotry. So many people sit in judgement of others without even trying to learn or understand. They spew hatred everywhere they go and try to bring down anyone who chooses to love instead. It makes you wonder how they formed their opinions? What drives them? Who hurt them to make them hate and hurt others? It makes you wonder whether or not they were just born that way...
I love BTS and everything they stand for. I discovered them in 2019 on the Billboard Awards. I had just lost my oldest brother in December to a massive stroke, I was in a 4 car accident right after that in Jan which left me with physical and psychological issues. Even though I have family, they have their own lives and some live in other states so they couldn't always be here for me. I am a loner but have always enjoyed life and being around people. After the car accident I found myself alone most of the time and trying to cope with one doctor appt after the other, including physical therapy. It took a toll on me and it felt like a dark cloud was hanging over my head. PTSD caused by the accident kept me at home, afraid to drive. Once I bought a new car to replace the one totalled in the accident it sat in the driveway for weeks at a time. Then the COVID thing and world issues hit this year just as I was getting better. First of all, let me acknowledge that my faith in God has gotten me thru all of my trials and tribulations; He alone has brought me through. I don't worship BTS or anyone other than God. Sometimes people come into our lives to help us get thru things; that is what happened for me with BTS. They were there on the TV screen at
the right time. The have become my extended family, comic relief, someone that I could relate to because of the hard times they faced. They introduced me to other countries, games, and art thru Bon Voyage episodes, Run BTS, American Hustle, BT21, and so much more. I check on them every day thru different media outlets just like they are my grand kids. They will never know me and I will never meet them or get to tell them how much they help me daily. They have helped me heal and they are helping me to live every day and persevere because they have persevered. I love their humility and how respectful they are. They are not perfect, they are simply young men who have grown up with each other and endured because they had dreams, they wanted to see a better world and make positive contributions. I pray that they never ever let negativity affect them ever again and that they understand that hate and negativity is not about them but about ignorance, fear and other peoples issues. I pray that they will continue to spread their positive message of self love because they have made a huge difference in my life and countless others lives. I will always love them dearly and support them sitting here in my living room. I wish nothing but the best for them always.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

This video actually has me tearing up. He’s 100% right. You’ll never understand the relationship of an army and bts until you’ve experienced it yourself. And a lot of ARMYS in my opinion aren’t vocal about it. Their reasons that is. Myself for example am a 31 year old woman and I don’t talk about my real reasons, the at the core of my being reasons for being an army to others that aren’t ARMYS in my close social circle because my reasons are deeply personal. But damn. Everyone should experience these boys. They are life changing.💜

I love how this channel highlights the broad spectrum of BTS fans. I’m a 43 year old ARMY myself. I also want to say, speaking in general, that I get so sick of people denigrating and dismissing things just because it’s something that “young girls” are into. The truth is, if BTS’s fan base WAS made up entirely of teenage girls, that wouldn’t mean that BTS is worthless! Teen girls are people too, and the things they enjoy have value.
Many of the things I discovered as a teenager are things I still love. I think this is true for most people, both men and women. But if you think about it, whatever “little girls,” teenage girls, AND grown women are into, it is often considered frivolous and unimportant. I just want to acknowledge BTS’s fan base of teen girls and young women as being every bit as legitimate as the rest of us, and everyone in ARMY, young and old, male and female, lends credibility to BTS.

liberator6 , I felt a lump in my throat when I read your words: "Many of the things I discovered as a teenager are things I still love." I am 67, and you made me understand why I am so happy, now, enjoying things I loved as a teen; talking to my girlfriends on the phone, telling jokes to my siblings, listening to fun or moving music, sending and receiving snail-mail, trying new recipes, learning new languages, playing and dancing with children, gardening, reading books, walking in nature, spending time with people who make me laugh. My grown children ask me about BTS when they call me, because they know that the isolating at home in California since March has been strange, but BTS music and videos have kept me entertained and dancing like a teenager, in spite of being cooped up indoors because of the smoke and ash from wildfires near me.
I waited on a street corner, in The City of New York, one February day, for The Beatles to arrive at a hotel for their first visit to the U.S. There were many teen aged girls there, but that did not stop people of all ages, my parents and grandparents,,too....from becoming fans of The Fab Four over the years.

A lot of my friends think I am slightly off the wall but one friend last night suddenly said I would like to go and see them when they next are on tour .. in the UK. So I think I’m converting them, they are hugely talented, hard working, and great young men who appreciate how they have got where they are...

He said it so well - that you have to "experience BTS". I've tried to explain how I feel about them to my friends and family but they look at me like I just told them I've seen aliens. It's very exhausting so I stopped talking about them. He's right though, you have to experience them to truly understand what this is or you're simply not gonna get it. Great interview!💜

Yes, I love how Skip described that, and it's so true. I'm in that phase where I can't stop talking about BTS to my friends and family (though I try really hard to stop!), and they will listen politely but they will never truly understand it unless they experience it themselves. It's almost like religion, in that sense. Not saying that BTS are something to be worshipped (they are just regular guys doing something extraordinary), but the incredibly eye-opening and emotional experience I've had while learning more about them and their music has been intense on that kind of level.

Action is louder than words.. I like to emphasize. If you want someone to understand you, show them through your action. You want your family to understand how the group/music had impact on you, show them. Instead of trying to make them understand by words, instead of being silent, show them. Show them that you have changed for the better through inspiration, through music, through messages. No one will understand until they see it. If anyone ask what’s going on? Let them listen to the music, and let them understand.

My response is "I don't give a UNH!," about your ridicule. I am retired. Move to a state where I know no one but my daughter and her friends. Basically I'm lonely a lot. I have been passionate about the arts and music all my life, so I pay close attention to lyrics, voice, beats, dance, etc. My age doesnt change that passion. BTS is seriously talented and awesome on the eyes lol. My favorite is Love Yourself Tears. V is incredible with that track and video. Their music comforts me and give me joy when I need it the most. I also love Rain. Continue my elder friends. We may be up in age but we are not dead.🎶💞

She has continued to send me political or religious things but never text me about the bts videos. I am an introvert, so i think ppl tend to overlook me. Unfortunately there's too much to learn so a deep dive would have to be done by reading yourself. Like how i studied evolution theory and find a lot of sense in it. Of course i believe in Creation that men were made by God and nothing was made without him. The big bang to me explained mostly how God could speak light into existence, creating something out of nothing. Mans evolution and i do not mean turning from fish to monkeys. I mean our travels and how the world changed around us. Im very interested in such topics and love to read and learn.

Not to mention that lots of them are professionals in their own field work, always someone having the taste of real life struggles and everything, but the conclusions are always the same, that BTS somehow become their source of happiness, joy, inspiration, strength, motivation, and what probably most loyal Armys can relate to is the healing they provide. Being an Army is not just about consuming music as pop culture anymore, it's a whole new lifestyle, a whole new perspective.

I also look at them and realize they have HAD to have gone through unknown stress and pressure, from within and without...and their bond is only proving itself to be the strength that is at the heart of their lives, I honestly believe they would take a bullet for each other. I have only been this in love with a group since the Beatles, I was 10 when they debuted. I love the Beatles still, but their music has faded in my mind, but I can sing BTS by heart, and I don't even know Korean. I have seen BTS twice, the first with my oldest grandson when he was 16, and then last year at the Rose Bowl, I flew to SoCal by myself, attended the concert by myself, and was going to go again before Covid. My first viewing of Dynamite made me incredibly happy, and every single time I watch it again that same joy returns.

In today's world we need someone like BTS. They bind all of us, ARMYs, together. We stick with each other and fight and laugh through our way. They unite us all. We come from different countries, cultural backgrounds, educational backgrounds, age, etc yet we stay together and stay united. This is a very pleasant sight to see especially in today's divided world. They don't just make music to earn money they make music to help their listeners to lead a better life. They have actually helped a lot of people (including me of course). I discovered them very recently and Dynamite was my first comeback. I am totally amazed by the power of ARMY, the way they work for the boys, it totally blows my mind away. We love them so much and they love us back equally. Also, I really hope Skip gets to meet BTS. He totally deserves it. Loved your video Brian. 💜

He is definitely one of us. Especially his reference to Spring Day and the fairy disaster I can relate to, because I was also watching that day. For everything that happened afterwards, for all those young lives lost, their voices stolen from time, and the survivors told constantly by adults to just forget about it; like there is no reason to seek answers, BTS Spring Day spoke for the voiceless, the injustice, the need for answers.

this really made me emotional. bts are one of the most important people in my life, and if i hadn't met them, i really don't know where i'd be right now. it's not that my entire life changed for the better the moment i met them-it's more like, before i met them, my life was full of sharp edges. but since i met them, their music and message and love just slowly dulled my edges. they made it easier for me to live.
skip is right, you'll never really understand why we (ARMYs) love bts so much until you experience it yourself. i really appreciate this interview, i wish more people could see it. thank you, brian 💜

I really enjoyed this. I'm 64 and adore BTS. I have been interested in psychology and philosophy since high school so found the Jungian under current fascinating. In the 60s-70s, which was also a time of disharmony (assassinations, Viet Nam war protests, students killed at Kent State, Watergate) there was also much great music: Creedence, Grateful Dead, Carly Simon, Janis Joplin, Jackson Five, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Moody Blues etc. etc. etc.. I love all kinds of music, but have not found an artist or band since that time with which I have liked SO MANY songs and the message.
I was an art teacher. I am continuously entertained by the creativity and depth behind their videos, set design, and clothing. I can't get through Spring Day without crying either.

Dido to Sugar Cookie 1903. I'm almost 58 years young, have a 23 year old, married for 33 years, have 2 master's degrees in human resources and LOVE BTS with all my heart and soul. I have all types of their merch and wear/display it proudly at home and at work. I love it when people ask me "who is BTS or why do you have them as the screen saver on your computer?" I use each of these opportunities to talk about BTS and the message of their music.I purchased tickets to two of their MAP of the Soul 7 concerts (praying they will be able to reschedule those soon) that I planned to travel to all by myself. I was so excited when I purchased my concert tickets (which would have been my first time attending their concert) anyone would have thought I was a young teenager. I cannot describe the level of disappointment and utter hurt I felt when the concerts were postponed because of the pandemic. I understand why the concerts had to be postponed but I was so looking forward to attending the concerts It took me a very long time to come to grips with the fact that I would not be able to see them in concert. I've also purchased several other items including In the Soop, Learn Korean with BTS package, Break the Silence docu series, Bang Bang Con Live, Map of the Soul 7 album, the 5th Muster DVD, BTS light stick Map of the Soul, and just yesterday Map of the Soul ON:E 2-day concert ticket. I love their message, how they love and appreciate ARMY and most importantly how humble and down to earth they are despite all of their success and accomplishments. I proudly will be a BTS true ARMY fan and supporter for life. Thank you Jin, RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin (my personal bias, but love them all ) V and Jungkook for bringing joy and happiness to (what some would call, not me, a senior citizen) my life. May you all continue to be richly blessed with ongoing success, love and good health.

I never understood when people used to say music helped them through stuff till I went through stuff myself and BTS music actually kept me sane.. It's so real.. These people are continents away and helped me heal with their music.. Trust me and no one around me at that time could do anything to help me.. That's why I'm a die hard fan.. People I would rely on just sent so much hate my way.. I was helpless and BTS taught me through their struggles that there's light after dusk.. And I hang on till my bright day came.. Bts is out there doing God's work and people are just ignorant and hating.. Smdh
