The stern would immediately sink!! Not wide enuff to support the weight of him an the 200 merc!!! Now, If he would split her in half longways, Add 36 more inches of width, Holy shit whatta big ole fast barge that would be!!! lol.
I thought the same thing, Wayne. The motor is pulling the front end out of the water...there's a lot of stress on those aluminum welds. Sucker still worked though!
@@mmmmmmm4321 that thing is fuckin sick tho. Honestly would probably be a sweet boat for gator hunting because a little (controlled) flex like this boat has would probably make loading a big gator an easier process.
@@mmmmmmm4321 just fyi, y’all are definitely my favorite channel. The down to earth screwing around yall do is hilarious. I can’t see a reason for it, but I hope this one doesn’t get taken by the police lol. Also if y’all wanted to further franken-boat this thing, yall could do weld some triangle-cut Jon boat front ends as sponsons to the stern and it would give you a little bit more flotation and probably limit any water you take on back there.
Even when it was empty, and he slapped the bottom down on the water, I was cringing and waiting for the impact to cause it to buckle. Cool fun though!!
That’s the greatest thing I’ve seen on CZcams!…just broke out cracking up!…ran like a dream….here’s what you do…make another one and race them through some narrow creeks with tight turns and see who makes it!…I love it …great job!
Nice work fellas it reminds me of the long boats in Vietnam. Maybe put a counter weight up front so the boat does not plane so high. Also maybe use a small pump to remove any water.
Super creative. This style of long and narrow boat is very common in I believe South America and other parts of the world. I wish we could’ve seen more of the building process… Great original work guys.
Could you build another and use them like two pontoons? Identical engine, linked tillers, big frame with net in between, etc. 30' x 30' square boat! Differential steering would probably do a lot. Maybe use those trusses DJs hang lights from, probably cheap used. Assemble on the water. Would be wild
That’s awesome awesome! I had one super narrow like that that was 20 foot and it had live wells in the middle seat! I never did sink it, but I came close a few times with a 25 horse Mercury on the back. If I took a corner to sharp, the whole back end would start filling up with water and coming over the back end.
Nice job they actually have these long boats all over Russia for shallow rivers. (Some are made of of Wood, Fiberglass, Aluminum and now Extrusion Welded super durable HDPE plastic) It’s actually quite common all over the world to have long, narrow boats for rivers and coastal areas to carry heavy loads with minimal power
Awesome job y’all! The American version of the Thailand river boat!l but even better I would make it even longer and if somehow you can make a 200 work I say go for it!
Pretty sick TBH. Looks like a lot of fun and pretty stable/ smooth ride even with all those people aboard. I say have a good time with it and do some more experimentation. Why the F not?!?! 😂👍
You need to strengthen the gunnels the length over the entire boat. If you look down the boat from the rear, you can see the deformation in the extension.
Nice one..although I never understood why Jon boats in USA are built so short at the sidewalls...I have made a couple of jon boats for myself(for a hobby) from plywood and polyester-fiberglass ..ranging from 3.30 meters up to 7.10 meters and all of them are much more taller at the sides compared to those made from an professional manufacturer-company..why is that?is it to save weight?
The Yami or Merc. Triples are easy to get big power out of. All you really need then is a sweet Chopper that will probably cost more than the entire rig. Sounds like my kinda boat already.
honestly I would just raise the sides on the rear and call it a day, and honestly I feel like two 25hp engines might turn better than one 50, not sure if you can make it a similar weight though, kinda want it to be as light as possible it would seem
Should call it the "Long John" lol Needs a stand up tiller handle or a crazy surface drive so you can do the captain Morgan stance while bouncing along.
At what point are you just going to catch enough air off the front to loop this thing? I love it. You should mount your battery up front. You'll just need like 4 pairs of jumper cables lmao
I think increasing the freeboard and/or making it wider would be better than lengthening it again. IDK how wide it is now, but if you make the bottom between 48" and 60" that should make the whole boat pretty darn stable. At 26 feet, though, that'd start to be too much boat for the motor again. I know the point isn't to make something sensible but to do something wild, but still... There is certainly a middle ground if you ask me. IMO, make the sides 31-33" tall, 20" tall transom, 48" wide bottom, reinforced in all directions, do a subfloor with 3-5 inches of pour foam(final floor to rail height of about 28"), drop the length down to 16-18ft, and put a yam 90hp 2 stroke triple on the back with a 13x21 4-blade prop.
Yes!!! Thats what i,m sayin, It would be awesome with 24 or 36 inches more bottom width, Would absolutely fly and Draw no water hardly, It would take off already planing off!!! Be sweet rig if he did!!
One small step for Jon, one giant leap for Jonkind.
Junkind :)
Now double the width with 2 boats and make it a twin 50 setup
Love that idea👌
What? A double wide, it can't be done, but that's what they said about my house trailer and look at us now, all fancy.
You should put the 200hp Merc on this one 😂
Thats What i was thinking lol!
it would fold in half lmao
The stern would immediately sink!! Not wide enuff to support the weight of him an the 200 merc!!! Now, If he would split her in half longways, Add 36 more inches of width, Holy shit whatta big ole fast barge that would be!!! lol.
They just said they lost it for leagal reasons
Mercs suck
I honestly can't believe it didn't buckle - especially when it was fully loaded!
I thought the same thing, Wayne. The motor is pulling the front end out of the water...there's a lot of stress on those aluminum welds. Sucker still worked though!
For longevity you might want to add some cross member supports near the welds
yeah i'd want to add some square tube front to back on the bottom to reinforce it, but then again it's for shits and giggles
@@mmmmmmm4321 that thing is fuckin sick tho. Honestly would probably be a sweet boat for gator hunting because a little (controlled) flex like this boat has would probably make loading a big gator an easier process.

I think the universe needs a 50 foot Jon boat
Agreed lmao
They have one its called a striker
Take it to haulover
69ft jon boat would be wilddd
Nice work fellas it reminds me of the long boats in Vietnam. Maybe put a counter weight up front so the boat does not plane so high. Also maybe use a small pump to remove any water.

Lol yeah that'd be cool. I thought catamaran but go full Waterworld with the net in between
Such a long boat deserves a long prop! You guys should get a really really long prop shaft extension like those south Asian race boats have
yeah!! the legendary Thai longtail hydroplanes
That’s a totally different motor from an outboard…
@@BobbyJones-tv6im true but why not? Weld a long ass piece to the prop shaft and see what happens before the shaft bearing fails....."for science"
That’s awesome man. Sorry to hear about the legal trouble but I’m enjoying your old boat a lot 👍
I grew up in the neighborhood you launched the boat in, very cool seeing local channels.
Yep cleavers are great stern lifting props. Choppers are great for bow lifting which might work well if they trimmed it down and raised it up.

Congrats Gents, got yerself the first and only, Party-Jon. The ladies loved it, time to start producing these things.
might wanna add some tail fins in the back like what race boats have so it can lift the rear up. You can make then adjustable as well

That's fricken hilarious! Nice work!
That is so cool! Keep em coming!
The boys strike again. Awesome vid
This is awesome. The lawn tractor is awesome. Everything is awesome.
Looks great! ♥
I have a question where did you get the Aluminum for the extension of this boat Cause it looks perfect lines up and all.
You fellers are an inspiration! Keep going!!
Awesome job y’all! The American version of the Thailand river boat!l but even better I would make it even longer and if somehow you can make a 200 work I say go for it!
It's crazy that the police just took your boat. Was wondering what happened to you guys
Bro, this is the content I came for
Sweet vid
This was great thanks, made my day.
Pretty sick TBH. Looks like a lot of fun and pretty stable/ smooth ride even with all those people aboard. I say have a good time with it and do some more experimentation. Why the F not?!?! 😂👍
Love the 200, and the 26ft. Jon boat is another great idea, I think the sides needs to be a little taller 😊
Those hull joints look much better than Titan, well done 😂👏🏻
That ain’t a Jon boat. That’s a Johnathan boat.
Reminds me of those Thai boats with the giant turbo diesel engines
I don't know why it's so funny. Good job!
You need to strengthen the gunnels the length over the entire boat. If you look down the boat from the rear, you can see the deformation in the extension.
An OG Thai long tail would be absolutely perfect on this build
Nice one..although I never understood why Jon boats in USA are built so short at the sidewalls...I have made a couple of jon boats for myself(for a hobby) from plywood and polyester-fiberglass ..ranging from 3.30 meters up to 7.10 meters and all of them are much more taller at the sides compared to those made from an professional manufacturer-company..why is that?is it to save weight?
That thing is beautiful!
Very well functioning vessel indeed sir
You shoulda hollered out, "Mines longer!" when you went past the guys and girls in the water...😂
It .needs to be wider, more power.
Nice john boat, if a tad short and underpowered, wonder how it would handle a little longer
This is pretty cool!
12 more feet!
250 more horsepower!!
The Yami or Merc. Triples are easy to get big power out of. All you really need then is a sweet Chopper that will probably cost more than the entire rig. Sounds like my kinda boat already.
The roost gave you the boost! Nicley done.
That’s an offshore boat if I’ve ever seen one 😮
Another great example of ... "Hold my beer..."
this and the 200 hp were fire videos
Needs a Thai long shaft setup.
Do the same thing except wider instead of longer
I like it!
Do you have another channel that shows the build process? Where did you get that donor section in the middle?
thats the coolest boat ive ever seen.
YOOO SICK next 47 ft john boat
I totally missed you getting screwed with on that other boat. I had wondered what happened to it. Time to put a turbo inboard in one.......
Bring up the sides & Transom by 4”. Double up some 2” diameter aluminum tubing down each side.
That’s awesome!
"but this is basically just practicality" lol
Needs sideboards, love it!
I want to see how you guys built it so I can use your ideas to extend my jon boat
At that length you can legally document with USCG with a ship name and port of call, set sail for international waters.
Well this is amazing.
Here in AK my neighbor has a homemade 31 ft 42inch wide jon boat he made in the 80s, ran a large suzuki 2 stroke on it.
Gonna need more info on what went done with the 200hp
It needs some stringer support to keep it from folding, or that will happen.
A really good bilge pump seems like a need, then send it.
I think it needs to be longer
honestly I would just raise the sides on the rear and call it a day, and honestly I feel like two 25hp engines might turn better than one 50, not sure if you can make it a similar weight though, kinda want it to be as light as possible it would seem
This is the start of a dope little house boat
Polish it brite and call it
“Long Jon Silver”!!😂
Bro really let the intrusive thoughts win. Widest Jon boat next?
Trim tabs is all you need. Maybe flotation pontoons for the rear
Should call it the "Long John" lol
Needs a stand up tiller handle or a crazy surface drive so you can do the captain Morgan stance while bouncing along.
Some wings up the sides when you are transporting 20 people again maybe. She was defying the laws of physics at that water line. Lol
That’s like upgrading from a single wide to a double wide trailer hell yeah😂
Simply awesome
First off --- That is Awesome !!! Round it off at 57' Long... And, Call it "Heinz57" !!!!
At what point are you just going to catch enough air off the front to loop this thing? I love it. You should mount your battery up front. You'll just need like 4 pairs of jumper cables lmao
Needs some float pods on the back. Would definetly help out
The ladies loved it 🦾💯
A wake skate has more free board than that battleship 😂 awesome build fellas!
That looks like an American version of those Thai long skinny boats
I see on the Amazon they use boats this length standard. But they are sensible, with higher sides.
This is the sickest thing
On a long hot, summer day🎵
Bro, you're going to need a tow boat to turn it😊
That thing shot some pretty cool roosters!!
Size definitely matters!!
I feel like a 90 would be comfortable with that setup!

That's hull-arious!
Make it longer!
You should put a 350 small block on this one to balance things out properly.
give it some float pods. bonus if you give it wings like a 1959 cadillac.. to keep the water out of course.
Turbo that 50!!! Sandbag the front and good to go!
If i saw that thing comin my way id be terrified 😂 flying torpedo
now make it x2 wide 🤣
Yes!!! Thats what i,m sayin, It would be awesome with 24 or 36 inches more bottom width, Would absolutely fly and Draw no water hardly, It would take off already planing off!!! Be sweet rig if he did!!
I'd probably look into extending the walls on the hull. That thing was low low in the water.
