Building & Riding the Backyard Pucker Pad!
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 16. 07. 2020
- Today, we'll build a mountain bike feature that has three parts: A lip, a landing, and something in between!
With the addition of the pucker pad, Rhodorooter has continuous features from the flight deck to the bottom of the rock garden! The goal now is to make the existing trail as nice as possible, and continue building from the bottom of the rock garden through Elmer Fudd.

Thanks for 2 Million subscribers! Funny how "Seth's Bike Hacks" has evolved into a channel featuring Berm Peak, and our second channel, "Berm Peak Express" has become a channel for bike hacks. We're doing it backwards and still killing it thanks to you!
Seth's Bike Hacks ya 2 million!!!!
Honestly I enjoy the DIY videos as much if not more than the pure mountain biking videos.
No, thank you for bringing these incredible videos to ud
OOuu HELL YEAH SETH, you are KILLING IT! And I'm very impresed how good you build it man!Cheers to all MTB RIDERS
Greatthings from Slovenia!
Love your content keep on going đđ
Idk if you read this Seth but I randomly got recommended your Flight Deck build a few months back because I was watching a bunch DIY channels. I didnt even know how to ride a bike at 25 but some how you got me into buying a mountain bike and to start hitting the trails during this quarantine. Keep doing what you do Seth.

My local trails(Griffin bike park) have a segment similar.. but no berm to rail. No run up.. and I'm 6'4 on an xl 29er.. the hop to the lilly I've (gently) otb'd 3 times not popping the tail.. idk if I'm not exaggerating the hop enough or what.. i can hop on the lilly. But when i go to send the lilly to shark fin I crash everytime..

Seth: we need a little dirt lip for the pucker pad
A season later, letâs a build a wood lip to fix it.
Matthew Gazo true
Definitely going to happenđ
So epic be like brrr but that is cold so I go ice yes but mom said no but dad yes no poo
What's sketchier: Alex coming up short on the landing or carrying the lilypad in flip flops?
Jordan Hotmann flip flops by far
Thinking the same thing
Jordan Hotmann not sure đ€
ive accidentally mtbed in lip flops b4 without even noticing once,Lmao

Seth, these videos are fucking fantastic and they make me happy in a way that build videos have never done before. I'm so happy that you get to do this on your own property, at your own pace and to your own specs. I am wishing you all the best from Canada and look forward to seeing what unique features you build. Stay safe (but send it, bud!)

Pucker pad and a pecker jump. I think you're set! (Besides everything else on berm peak) your videos are the best man. I always find myself watching them over and over.
Does anyone else just love watching the time lapse of the "Getter" slowly compressing its suspension when it gets filled up with stuff?

"Git'r"
You know he's gonna nail the jump when the dramatic music starts to play
And you know they're gonna bomb when there's no music at all lmao
I actually thought the exact opposite. I thought Seth was gonna bait us and show Alex eating dirt.
Colin Goode that would be funny, like when they just absolutely fail the jump they bait us with some thrashing music
@@chefcahtah53 exactly đ

Anyone else love how in the time lapse the gator slowly rises up and down đ€€
OMG I love this so much... I appreciated his placement of a timelapse of JUST that at the end as the credits were rolling. It's so oddly satisfying.
Hahaa! Yes!

At this point I feel like you need to just build a "dirt is lava" trail where the goal is to jump from feature to feature w/o ever hitting the ground.
Im pretty sure those are exactly his plans
Oh yes, I absolutely would love to see a "the floor is lava" trail

Iâve ridden dirt bikes my whole life. Within the last 2 years Iâve gotten into hard enduro stuff with my bike. And Iâve watched your channel for years. I bought my first mountain bike last week. Itâs nothing crazy expensive or fancy. But good enough to get me started and I love it. Your channel is what made me dream of it for so long now itâs a reality and a new sport for me to enjoy. Thank you.
it's so awesome to see the timelapses of the back of the gator going up and down from the weight of dirt

I seriously donât know how you have the time to build all this stuff and set cameras every where. There are so many cuts that are only half a second long that must have taken 5 minutes to set up just for that one shot. Then you edit everything. This channel is still underrated in my opinion.
Wow, Seth! Today's my birthday and a new video of my favorite series just came out! Thank you!
iâm surprised that he hasnât turned his roof into a sketchy feature
He is turning his garden into the MTB version of pastranaland
just wait a few months
He always shocks me with how far he can jump with so little speed
Done give seth ideas we still need him for us to get through this quarantine
pretty sure he promised mrs bike hacks he'd keep it all in the woods...
I love Berm Peak so much that I started recreating his features with popsicle sticks!
I love how that feature turned out and i am even beginning to build my own
And as of right now i just checked and i have officially watched every single video seth has ever made đ„łđ„ł
Seth is my favorite person. I donât even know why. He just is.
He's making Alex earn his keep
When the camera pans through the area it makes the whole scene look a whole lot better
lol yea
I was think the same exact thing lmao
I love seeing him in seths videos and vice versa. Seems like a good deal for Alex and gives Seth the extra hand
He's made s
lot of trails that I don't know
Just imagine in like 5 years, when Seth's whole house is a trail centre, an we will be looking back on these days, thinking about the now famous features.
Well I think the features are already famous with 2M subs.
way too many features imho
That's sorta what I was thinking about when I watched the video where he just cleared it and this trail was a blank slate, I look at what he's accomplished on Berm Peek and think " wow thats impressive for only 8 months!
@@Rasakson Well for someone like me with a lot of experiance and no skills that's true, but for a skilled rider it's a good way to make a short trail fun to ride many times.
Man I remember 5 years ago when he was riding around in his apartment in Florida, and when he was storing 5 or 6 bikes in a closet. I'm so proud of how far he's come in such a short period of time.
Wow nice job on the pucker pad. You made that build look totally easy. And it looks like you nailed the angles in no time.
Because of you seth I'm building my own bike trail. So far it's 200 yards long and has two different trails. And I'm trying to get a mountain bike this month.
2:45 that little cut of Oscar just made my day
Did anyone else heart skip a beat when Alex nose cased the jump.
yeah
I let out an audible gasp haha
I sure did
Berm peaks need some type of foam or inflatable wedges to put in front of the landings.
I think that would help with confidence when trying to do the features for the first time.
Kinda like a reverse airbag, so that you don't hit a vertical wooden wall.
*cased
Somehow I really love the timelapse of the truckâs suspension going up and down
your videos are just so relaxing to watch. fantastic quality work.
Sethâs vids are better than anything on TV or Netflix! He inspires me to ride and make videos.
I can tell of your vids
Yeah! And the new sliding timelapse shots look dope.
Same
I got back on my bike after 6 months because of him
Pro tip! Compact dirt every 2 inches so you're not trying to compact 18" of mush at the end
thatâs a really good tip actually
You can't compact mud. He's going to have to let it dry out.

Watching the gator go up and down while being loaded and unloaded is satisfying

I feel like "pruning the rotadendrins" could be on a shirt at this point
rhododendrons*
I felt the same thing when I heard him say it this video! Haha
It's his version "I need to return some videotapes" at this point.
Hey Seth. A fan of the videos! So fun. I have a recommendation that might be useful for your construction endeavours. Your problem with soil not contacting as you have stated is because is to wet. Too much water.
In Road construction and earthworks we use a simple and cheap process to speed things up. Is called soil stabilization with lime. Read a little about it you can try, it dries the soil quick.
On a normal lip it always looks like the slope itself is what makes you fly, but on the flat pad you can really see all of the credit that should go to the rider's capabilities. Amazing work, and riding!
The amount of effort that goes into one video is amazing
Man its crazy that its been pretty much a year since you started this project. The progress is insane to see. Keep it up man!
Yay man
0:50 pruning sounds a lot better then cuttingđ
That's right! Just doing a little pruning...

@@SethsBikeHacks hey seth i love the shot of Oscar under the car a few minutes later starts to pour

This makes my day I never have to think twice about clicking your videos!
Am i the only one who thought seeing the bed lower and rise with dirt over the timelapse was really satisfying

Iâve seen Seths bike hacks go from a little house in Florida with a closet to store bikes through berm creek all the way to owning his own pike park and I have to say itâs been a journey of the greats
the time lapse of the gator getting weighed down by the dirt is SO satisfying!
Berm Peak: Full of high-consequence features that I'll never be able to ride. But I sure love that merch! (got a shirt and jersey)
7:48 best bail Iâve seen in a while. That couldâve hurt. âïžđ great video, thanks!
Really good bail. I'd of definitely come out of that with something broken!
Felix Penrose right? I feel like Iâd still be recuperating after that.
