  • I lost a charging cable for my Garmin watch(vivoactive 4). Instead, I found a great posting from reddit. What you need is an old USB cable.

Life saver. Works a charm, just need a little pressure on the red cable. Added a coin underneath a rubber band to apply pressure on the supply

Used this on a different Garmin! Rubber bands and a piece of cardboard to get the contacts solid. Electrical tape to isolate the contacts. THANKS!!!

So it took a lot of persistence and effort but I was able to get it to work. Had to get creative to get it going. Used some tape, rubber bands, and a few other tools but it seems to be good. Last j in checked I went from 0-20 in about 20min.

I've cut the cables. They only have a red and green wire.

Older cables may have red and green wires only. You need to use a newer cable that has red & black wires.

If only it were that simple… I’ve bought a couple new cables & after a lot of searching it’s the connection that’s the problem and Garmin won’t admit there’s a fault so doing this is a last resort and only available option short of binning the watch!😕
