Rambutri is a great street for eating and chilling. There used to be a guy called Max who served great food and did magic tricks at the table there. Love Bangkok

In February, after several years, we slept one night on Khao San Road, at the D&D Inn... Impossible to sleep: a disco with infernal music with neighboring walls that at 4 a.m. pumps infernal music at full volume. Same as Poltergeist! However, Bangkok is always beautiful and charming ...
I love how they sell fresh fruit on the street and eat it with a stick.

Even Thais, tuk tuk also charge overprice so make sure you bargain 50% or more
Good to know, because I usually hang out, stay and shop on Kau Shan Road. I know it’s spelled incorrectly. I used the audio on phone and I don’t remember how to spell it manually.

I stayed on that street about 10 years ago there’s a little lane way that you can cut through to get to Khaosan Road so you don’t have to walk right around. Great spot. Next year we are going back to Bangkok but thinking we might stay more in the central area closer to the BTS but now sure what area to pick we done’twant to be right in the middle of all the go go bars but don’t want to be stuck in a real quiet area either.

They filmed 'The Beach' in that laneway. Have a look at Sathorn/Silom which is close to siam square by BTS or taxi. I use to stay in IResidence in both silom and Sathorn , but I have stepped it up a bit over the years, so I now stay in Le D'Tel in Sathorn, really nice and about $80 per night.

Lloyd, were you a whisker under the ‘weather’ by the end of Muay Thai. Ha . I’ve never been to Muah Thai, so good suggestion for next trip.
You should definitely go, and by whisker if you mean whiskey, then yes, yes I was.
9 hours Sydney to BKK direct. I've been to that massage shop for a foot massage on the street. On the Thanon parallel to Kao san Road. I use to spend a lot of time in Banglumpu and especially soi rambuttri before discovering Sathorn. You found it. Really nice spot. Sorry Tuk Tuks are S**t noisy, cramped and expensive.
Yes they aren't as convenient as a taxi but it's a must do for first timers.
Rambutri is way better than Kaosan road the walk of shame 😂

Hey mandy why didn't you ask if a tuk tuk ride through bkk is safe for unborn baby . I've seen numerous horrific tuk tuk crashes. No safer than a bike taxi

In a tuk tuk you are unrestrained with no helmet and hard metal bars all around. Not sure why you were so worried about a massage or facial if you are prepared to take that totally avoidable risk. Get a taxi
