On paper, the Focus ST Edition has huge potential to compete with the best hot hatches out there. Large 2.3-liter engine with 280 hp, big Brembo brakes, electronic LSD, excellent anatomical seats and, above all, manually adjustable KW shock absorbers. Strong points definitely include massive mechanical grip and good damping of uneven surfaces thanks to high-quality KW shocks and high-performance tires on light aluminum flow-form rims. The performance of the Brembo brakes with durable brake linings is also top notch. The ride is therefore predictable, sovereign and stable. The geometry of the chassis corresponds more to the circuit setting, which is especially appreciated in fast passages. But that also meands that you cannot expect playfulness and oversteer like the Hyundai i30 N! The setup is closer to the Honda Civic Type-R with less precision and sharpness. This leads us directly to the shortcomings, which are imprecise and uncommunicative steering and an uninteresting engine. In fact, you will soon find out that the chassis and brakes cannot be used to their full potential because the engine simply does not have enough energy. - Sport
Main Problem with the 2.3l in the Focus st is the intercooler. Above 20 degrees and after mutliple runs, it cant reproduce Peak Power. Therefore intercooler Upgrade from f.e. Mounttune is a must have. Also must have is a remap, 280hp for this engine ist not enough. Other than that, great car

Looks SO much better set up than the Focus RS Mk3 was, that thing seemed to jump and wobble over the entire road.
This one comes with KW suspension from factory

yup, the MK3 RS is wayyyy too stiff. Would prefer this much more over the RS, even though its only FWD

Thats why you have adjustable KW shocks. Probably the setup is bit safer from factory. If you feel that car is more understeer make lower/softer front end or try setup rear.

What tires does it have? The chassis setup as you say, looks more fast corner oriented. Much understeer in slower corner entry. Engine looks to have lots of low down torque, but not so much top end.

Not the best...but its a hothatch...you buy it for the driving experience..not the interior quality

Is it inside a sound generator ?
I have 2020 Focus st mk4 and yes inside it is artificial sound from sound generator. It is super annoying and loud. You cant hear your real exhaust sound and i have Milltek on it.

@@mw4314 yes it is very dumb they put this artificial sound in car. But at least you can turn it off with computer and obd
