@@kritika6675recently a female pt consulted me for bleeding pv ...there was bleeding from other site too like from mouth from urine and undergone 6 unit blood transfusion along with 2 platelet, only relevant history of mild fever since 1 to 2 month. On exam petechial rashes all over body , one doctor diagnosed as dengue but she has high TLC 35 ,000 PL ONLY 30 to 50 thousands and Hb 7 to 8 . Previous CBC was wrong, as send again for CBC along with PBS ...it was bad news for her...as 0 N, 0E ,0 B only lymphocytes with blast cells ...referred her higher center...so diagnosis was done with a right CBC report . And pathologist can help us wisely
Pathology lab receives around 300 to 500 samples a day . If we say Hb 7 , the ward sister will note it as 11. So better not to give reports on Phone. It is better to collect the reports personally.
In hospitals where many patients are admitted , each patient is assigned with a bed number or a unique code (because hospitals usually use computers to register patient details and since many patients are there so a number or a code is assigned) so all samples are sent with that number or code written on it . When it comes to clinics the samples are sent with a patient name because the patient load is less as compared to a hospital . Hope u get it 😊
