      How was the music scene by the start of the 80’s ??
      I’m born 2000 and I always just find it curious knowing how much music changes thru decades
      I think about how acts like Michael Jackson and Prince may have come out by then where pop elevated beyond

    This is one of the first riffs I learned but I learned it the way you showed initially. The open string nuances and open strings ringing make the riff come alive. We can sure count on you for the Stones tunes! Keep it up.

      @michaelschaefer7962 Před 3 lety +2

      Great job, as usual. Someone might have shared this story from Andy Johns on one of your other lessons on this tune; if so, apologies for the redundancy:
      "When we were doing 'Bitch,' Keith was very late. Jagger and Mick Taylor had been playing the song without him and it didn't sound very good. I walked out of the kitchen and he was sitting on the floor with no shoes, eating a bowl of cereal. Suddenly he said, Oi, Andy! Give me that guitar. I handed him his clear Dan Armstrong Plexiglass guitar, he put it on, kicked the song up in tempo, and just put the vibe right on it. Instantly, it went from being this laconic mess into a real groove. And I thought, Wow. THAT'S what he does."

    "stinger at 7" you play that like Nigel Tufnel when he explains the resonance on his '59 Les Paul to Marti Di Bergi... " can you hear it"? "i don't hear anything.... "but you would though if it were playing". " i mean you can go and have a bite and you'll still be hearing that one". i'm sure you know the reference ,there's a little bit of Nigel in every guitar player.

    It was only during the last tour (2019) that Ron really was playing the rhythm properly. For some reason since 89 they left the mick t rhythm to the keyboards. It ruined the song for me for many years. Also, I could be wrong but at some point Taylor goes up a half or whole step for a few bars and then back. I don’t remember if this is in the live shows or the studio but he does go up a smidge for a few bars.

    Wow this is great having Nigel Tuffnel teach you Rolling Stones songs!! Sounds like hes lost the British accent though. Must be from living in the States all these yrs. 🤔 Unfortunately his intelligence level makes teaching it pretty difficult.
    Especially that "stinger" 😆 On the studio recording it's played like an old Albert King lick. Not like an epileptic is playing it. 🤦
