One minute! I remember my cat got eye once, had to do eye drops. She hated it- Iâm sure she was like âI am old, you make me take pills every month, and now this?!? When will these indignities cease?â She was a good kitty.

There's nothing quite like the indignation of an elderly cat. My 18-year-old spent her last 6 months in diapers. She was otherwise very happy and had a great quality of life, but she got very indignant when SOMEONE soiled her pants! So rude.

for anyone wondering, here is joey's animal list (in time order):
- Wolf (male husky, rescued from craigslist (?) as puppy)
- Storm (male husky, white, adopted from a rescue as puppy, lives w Daniel)
- Lark (female husky/german shepherd mix, adopted from a rescue as puppy (?), lives w Daniel)
- Lark had babies (accident at doggy daycare)! seven of them (Red, Teal, Lavender, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue)
- Moon (male husky, kept one of lark's babies-Teal)
- Shadow (male husky, J&D tried to keep Lark's baby Red, but Moon & Shadow struggled with littermate syndrome so Shadow was rehomed like the others)
- Sakura (black female pregnant rescue cat) (kept her)
- Sakura's kittens, the zodiac litter (Gemini, Taurus, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
- Azula (female foster cat, was pregnant but lost the litter)
- Hen (foster mama from junkyard)
- junkyard pups (Duck, Goose, Shark, Otter, Bear, Moose)
- foster mama dog Roo
- Roo's litter (Hare, Tiger, Bison, Panda, Raccoon, Monkey)
- Daenerys (white foster mama kitty)
- D's kitties, the Greek Goddess litter (Athena, Persephone, Aphrodite, Nemesis, Rhea)
- took care (for a couple of days) of a mama duck and her 9 babies that wandered into his backyard and got stuck
- May (foster mama husky)
- May's babies, the Months litter (January, February, March, April, June, July, August, September, October, November, December)
- Coco (husky foster mama pt2, false pregnancy, surrogate to Disney pups)
- husky babies abandoned in box (Disney litter--Copper, Pluto, Bolt, Scar, Bruno, Darla)
- Daisy (husky foster mama pt3)
- Daisy's babies (flower/tree litter; Goldie, Lilly, and Daphne didn't make it; Ash, Cyprus, Oren)
- Lacey (black & white foster kitty mamma)
- Lacey's kittens, gem litter (Opal, Pearl, Peridot, Flint, Mica, Jasper)
*Montana/Monty (female golden retriever) is often in videos; she is Daniel's (Joey's ex) dog, but often comes to Joey doggy daycare
*the babies are usually adopted by other people (other than Moon) and then renamed!
You arent dramatic joey!! You did what ANY pet parent would do when something like that happens
So true, especially because eye infections can get really bad in kittens if left untreated. In the wild it frequently leads to kittens losing vision or even the eye itself!
She's giving a real Popeye vibe with that squinty eye.
funny enough my kitten had this exact same issue! I noticed the mom abandoned it and kept leaving it behind then I went to the vet, got the eye ointment but he almost died! I named him Popeye because of it. in the last video I noticed the eye issue and made sure to comment to Joey!! take it to the vet!
They look like they are part siamese with the dark faces â€ïž
Edit - I didnât realise this comment would cause an argument. There are 17 potential breeds with dark points - most donât seem very common and Siamese is most well known, but anyway, they are:

They are not colourpoint kitties. Dad was apparently a ginger and mom is a tuxedo. There is 0 chance there will be colourpoints. You canât have a colourpoint kitten unless one parent is one.
@@cloudedfreedom6286 They are definitely colorpoint kittens. This can happen when both parents must have be carrying the colorpointed gene, which is a recessive gene. The two parent cats don't have to appear colorpointed themselves in order to pass on this coat color to their offspring, they just need to carry the gene.
@@jessie9354 yes, I was wrong, colourpoint IS a recessive gene, but thereâs only two colourpoints. The rest are tuxedos or harlequins. And calling them Siamese or rag dolls is even more wrong; they clearly arenât either.
Opal has a darker marking on the nose
Yes! Noticed it too, I think they're seal point cats so the dark should develop a bit further as they age.

I have a one eyed cat, una! She doesnât know it tho and is super creepy when she peaks around walls at you since she only peaks that eye!!
Growing up I had a dog with one eye he was an Lhasa apso* so he had shaggy hair over his eyes. And was very sensitive when we (kids) would try to see his eye. Now as an adult I get why he tried to bite us cuz he was in protection mode.
I am willing to drive cross country for the one with the mustache đ„șâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž

That actually happened to me once when I was younger Iâd wake up and not be able to open my eyes and my mom had to wipe them with a damp rag. It was quite scary waking up and not being able to see
This is my life in both eyes. They don't even close when I sleep. I didn't know how to fix this until a couple of years ago when my Eye Doctor diagnosed me when I was 19.
omg actually u just unlocked a memory of me when i had conjuntivitis and my eye got sealed shut!

Oh my, I wonder why Pearls eye closed up again the next day? Did flushing it help again? Iâm glad they said no infection, but in the past Iâve fostered kittens and theyâve had conjunctivitis or ringworm at birth that caused one eye to do that. Just keep an eye on it, no pun intended! đđ»â€ïž
Sometimes those crusties can be stubborn and take a few treatments! I had a couple kittens who took a few days to completely get over it

Keep doing the warm compress on her eye, and if it still doesn't stay open after a few days, then I think another visit to the vet will be needed.

With kittens eyes it is always better to be safe rather then sorry. They can go blind from infections really fast.

@@JoeyGraceffaVlogs glad you like the idea â€ïž keep doing warm compresses on Pearlâs eye. I think sheâs the true Pearl as it takes time for a pearl to emerge.
i used to take care of strey cats growing up, they'd constently have babies so i've seen the crusty eyes many times. i would just spend a few minutes a day cleaning the crust out with a damp warm cloth, gently so to not irritate the eye. do that every day for a while and it should go away as they age.

Joey the kittens look fine, and I'm pleasantly surprised they opened their eyes as soon as they did. It's all good, and I think Pearl and Opal have blue point Siamese in them. eye boogies (or crustys) are common in baby kittens with their little needle claws they poke their eyes their siblings eyes. The best and easiest way to fix it is to lightly take a damp warm wash rag and dab the eye don't scrub. Mainly you want to keep it clean so it doesn't get infected. the babies are soo cute your doing a good job as cat dad
I noticed the crust yesterday but it's so hard to tell when they are just opening their eyes. I thought maybe it was just the way her eye looked. I'm glad you're getting her to the vet. â€ïž

I deal with the same issue that Opal is dealing with my whole entire life in both eyes. They don't even close when I sleep.
