I have the Microfleur and love it, been using it for over 1 yr. and even bought another one. The better way to use it is to take it out in between 'bursts'. Remove the top and bottom and wipe off the moisture from the smooth inside. Replace the clips and microwave again. Each time you need to remove the top and bottom and wipe off the moisture. An easy way to tell if your flowers are totally dry is you won't have any moisture on the lids. The press will not get too hot and the smell will actually be pleasant depending on the flower type if you follow these instructions. Roses laid and pressed on their sides turn out beautiful as well. Have fun with it, you'll start loving it.
Thanks Julie, I've just received the Microfleur and this info was great. To dry out the moisture from the flat parts in between bursts is an invaluable tip, thanks for sharing!
I learned the other day from watching a million videos on this to stretch the fabric so you don't rip your flower. Glad yours all worked out. Thanks for vid!
U my dear is what I needed today.. I love your personality.. I've watched your videos putting flowers in resin... WOW... I did one N ya.... It sure does take some resin... Lol. Oh ya. N I love love your wedding bouquet u put in resin. Holy MOLY that was GORGEOUS
I bought one of these about 15 years ago and used the dried flowers in my encaustic paintings. Mine is only about 5 inches. The one you got looks huge! Love it 😍
I love it when you try new things; it is always an adventure! My favorite is the same as yours the flowers that's heads were kinda brown look like antique lace!! The commercial it went to in this was a microwave I thought it was hilarious.
The video edit at 1:23 with the flower sitting there while you prep in the background was absolutely brilliant really appreciated that extra effort, it was wonderful to watch💕 The flowers came out pretty good. 🌿🥀🌺🌻🌷🌼🌹🌸 All hail "The Flower Queen"! A.K.A "The crazy resin Lady"!
I enjoy watching you do these resin art, I definitely plan on doing a few pieces especially with my choice of flowers 🌸 yet Imma also use a slight dusting of colored glitter ✨ in the end process so I can make myself a few sentimental pieces for myself to enjoy 😉 thanks for sharing your beautiful talents
Very Cool! I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll have to give it a try - I get impatient waiting for the flowers to dry in my books! I loved the third one too - the petals looked almost transparent - very pretty.
yaaas resin queen these flowers came out stunning ♥ you inspire me so muchhh!!! I just started working with resin last week and I'm having so much fun all your tips have definitely helped me tons with my projects
Just found your channel and I really enjoyed the presentation. I’ve never pressed flowers only dried roses. This however has inspired me to try something new. I hope you have more how to videos.
I’ve been watching you for a few weeks now and think u are so talented and clever and fun to watch . You do make everything look very easy lol. I’ve been using the microfleur for a while with some good results and some bad but you’ve just made me feel more confident to use it . You put your flowers face down and mine were face up I’ll try it your way now. X
That's the one I wanted to get but went for the small cheap version first. I love it!!!! I've been waiting to hear your thoughts on it. Your flowers and projects came out beautiful as always!!!!!!!!!😄
I found the fire brick way of drying flowers in the microwave and I LOVE it!! Not ALL flowers work with this way, but most do and it's so much quicker and so far has been the best for me. The cool thing is, if once your flowers are dried, and happen to 'collect' some moisture while you are storing them...just pop them in between the bricks, fabric and nuk them for a few seconds and they are good as before.
I just got one on Ebay for a really good price. I'm planning on using my flowers in mixed media. Yours turned out beautifully? Thanks for sharing how to do and as soon as I recuperate from my back surgery a few weeks ago.
Hello,i just discover your channel and i love it. Excuse me for my english, i'm french and i'm out of school since very long time ago. Sorry ! Thank you for your wonderfull positive energy. Kiss from Paris.
OMG, hahaha!! I saw this a couple days ago and had been meaning to write and ask you if you'd ever tried it. I don't remember what happened, I must have been distracted. Typical. I haven't even pressed play yet but I'm so glad you're going this video.
Oh I see what you did there, Heather! A kind of poppy came up on the screen as a Japanese Anemone.... keep practicing, it's a-nem-on-ee!! (Yes, it took me ages to get it right, too, when I was about your age). 😃😃
I would use parchment paper as another layer between the flowers. Also replaceable. I dry rose petals separately in the sun for about an hour. 100 degrees here not too crispy just rubbery. My laminator broke as i make book marks from dried flowers but yesterday i just pressed thee rose petals flatter between parchment then ironed the laminating paper also with parchment on each side to protect my iron. This year my high desert area has been more humid all spring and summer. This is affecting how things dry. I crisped some out by trying to press dry too long. If pretty close can store like you did or I just store in a shoe box in the dark until I use. So thinking of looking for blotting paper. Thats what they used in old days to also press dry flowers. Blotting paper used for pen and ink sets. The faster or drier you can make flowers the less brown they will be in the process.
The heart shaped one is my favorite. Hobby Lobby has bags of silica gel that you can use in either a tub or in the microwave. The beads also change color when they are full of moisture, and you can reuse the beads by drying them back out in the oven. You should give that a try!
Omg they’re all so cute! I’m super impatient so silica gel & drying in books was a hell no for me. I was thinking I’d just order pressed flowers from Etsy but it’s getting pricey. I just ordered a dehydrator but I may have to order this as well!!
SWEET!!! I’ve been debating for months on buying the microfleur. I have seen so many pictures and videos and their flowers always looked awesome. I am having a jealous attack right now over you😉; you are so lucky to have access to some beautiful flowers. Just can’t find those flowers in northern Arizona 😩I think the heart dish is my favorite ❣️Great job on the beautiful pieces!!!
You can get the same effect using a ceramic plate. Just put your flowers in a piece of paper folded in half and then wrap that in a paper towel and then place the plate on top of that inside the microwave. Using intervals of 30 seconds at a time.
Just found you on here. You are so funny and adorable. You've inspired me to try putting pressed flowers in my junk journals. Hubby bought me some resin for Christmas so I've never used it before. It looks like the ones you did may have some air bubbles in them. Is there anyway to keep them out?
Long ago in college after Horticulture class outing I’d take 2 phonebooks (waaaay back) to press & microwave specimens 5 seconds each in turns, while opening the other one to let the steam out. Took several turns, but since each phonebooks can have 3 layers about 1” apart, lots get dried to a crisps pretty quickly. 30 seconds in microwave is too long, cooked plants are more fragile.
I did this a few years ago with a bouquet of red roses that my husband bought me, but I just used two plates and some paper towels. I found that my flowers became discolored in the microwave (I knew exactly what smell you were talking about, too lol) but yours seemed ok. It seems like drying them out with the pellets is a better way to go, but that’s just me.
You should try drying the flowers but adding a dye to the petals 1st and seeing if you can change the color of the petals as they dry. Does that make sense? Also do some of those very colorful Daisy's
I love your vids! You provide so much info and test things out so we can learn from them 😍 I put some flowers in resin yesterday and some of them got splotches and look “wet”. Would you know why?
I did buy a microwave flower press because I like instant gratification! I’ve had a lot of success with it and I’ve used it quite a bit. Would you ever consider selling molds of your heart dish? I’ve tried to find something similar but haven’t had any luck.
If you’re still interested, I have 3 of those glass heart things with lids in 3 different sizes. You can have them, just help me out with the shipping lol
I've seen online people doing this between two tiles small enough to fit in the microwave with some kitchen paper to soak the moisture, too scared to try myself tho 😅
I freakin love you....those flowers are super gorgeous...thank you for being so awesome...I seen you posted and immediately clicked, made my afternoon!! Xoxo because of you I bought some resin and started drying flowers...how long do I leave them in the book?
I love you videos, I found your videos on CZcams about a week ago beautiful stuff. Can you use your alcohol ink to add color to them and let it dry before you set them in resin?
Very pretty. I like the yellow ones (simply because that's my favorite color). I don't have a frickin microwave. Will a regular one do? Just kidding. I don't use waves, and will just stick to using big books. Stopped at the Goodwill today and picked up a big dictionary. My daughter said I could borrow a couple of her encyclopedias. I said, "uh no, they're ruin the pages." : ) Can't beat $1. for the big book.
When you microwave these you should open the press each time and check for moisture on plastic. Wipe the moisture off and close back up and micro wave again each time cut the amount of time. When you open them and the is not any moisture they are finished.
My daughter has a floral lei from her college graduation ceremony that she would like to preserve in Resin. Do you do projects for people like can people hire you to do a project for them?
I have the Microfleur and love it, been using it for over 1 yr. and even bought another one. The better way to use it is to take it out in between 'bursts'. How long do you microwave for please?
You are so right wipe the moisture off between burst
@@leahluna watch the video
Thanks for the tip.
So lovely! I use a food dehydrator...not for pressed flowers, but it does give you instantly dried flowers and retains so much of the color.
Nicole Bateman Oh I’ve never thought about a dehydrator. I so badly want to be able to dry some Lantana.
That's a great idea
Can I ask what settings you put it on? 😁
So like an air fryer thing that has a dehydrate setting?
How fast do they dry ?
I learned the other day from watching a million videos on this to stretch the fabric so you don't rip your flower. Glad yours all worked out. Thanks for vid!
Your channel is teaching me sooo much! Thank you for sharing your art and techniques with us.
The small circular one is to die for! I love the lay out of that one too!
Ooooo the roses came out beautiful! Thanks for testing that!
I bought one of these about 15 years ago and used the dried flowers in my encaustic paintings.
Mine is only about 5 inches.
The one you got looks huge!

Totally cool. Thanks for sharing your experience.
OMG i need oneee. So cool I cant wait until Spring & Summer to start my flower collages
I love how honest you are about the microwave LOL I was like how is her microwave this clean all of the time!
I love it when you try new things; it is always an adventure! My favorite is the same as yours the flowers that's heads were kinda brown look like antique lace!! The commercial it went to in this was a microwave I thought it was hilarious.

Thank you for your videos! I was looking up resin videos to cast D&D dice, but now I want to make art pieces too. You da best!
I'm in love with them all!
How fun!! It would be cool to see a side by side shot of the original color flower and the dried and resined flower!
And what a wonderful microwave corner it is. 😃 Yup! Watching during quarantine.

You are adorbs!
Love your videos.
I love them
I’ve been debating on a microfleur but I’ve done the microwave way of pressing flowers in between paper towels and kitchen plates.
Oh I see what you did there, Heather!
A kind of poppy came up on the screen as a Japanese Anemone.... keep practicing, it's a-nem-on-ee!! (Yes, it took me ages to get it right, too, when I was about your age). 😃😃

How do you get your resin so clear? Really love your creations. Ive just bought the flower press and can't wait to have a go!

Belinda Mason, do you not have some beautiful flowers where you are? (I'm English, please excuse my ignorance).
You can get the same effect using a ceramic plate. Just put your flowers in a piece of paper folded in half and then wrap that in a paper towel and then place the plate on top of that inside the microwave. Using intervals of 30 seconds at a time.

Your heart mold you made is still my favorite!! How many times have you used it so far? Seems like it is very durable!
TFS!

Hi lovely love your work ❤❤❤ where can i please get that microwave flower dish?♡♡
I liked the heart but all are beautiful
That's awesome I'm gonna have to get me one but may I ask where do you get your molds from

Also, where do you store your pressed flowers to keep them preserved for resin projects?
Lysanthus is my favorite.
I've seen online people doing this between two tiles small enough to fit in the microwave with some kitchen paper to soak the moisture, too scared to try myself tho 😅
Flower sandwich! 😂
I freakin love you....those flowers are super gorgeous...thank you for being so awesome...I seen you posted and immediately clicked, made my afternoon!! Xoxo because of you I bought some resin and started drying flowers...how long do I leave them in the book?
I think in a previous video, she said a week or two. 😊
Hi tx for sharing. Where did u get the big silicone molds from - eapecially the purple one
Great results. Can you tell me how you got your dish mold. Did you make it. Like you I like the last one best.
Hi beautiful, all your performances are perfect.
Thank you for the review, do you wash the cloth after each batch. Thank you
lovel love that clear round mold... where is it from please? :)
I love you videos, I found your videos on CZcams about a week ago beautiful stuff. Can you use your alcohol ink to add color to them and let it dry before you set them in resin?
Pretty! What size mould is the largest round one used? Is that an 8” or 9”? Thx. Luv ur vids💕
Paper towels ....flat bottom Tupperware with heavy cups inside does great.
Love them all especially the heart trinket dish. Wonder if that press is available in the uk? 🤔
Look online or eBay/Amazon for a microwave flower press.
you should make and sell your heart mold. It's so pretty
Have you ever tried it to dry fruits? Desecated slices of strawberries, oranges or lemons look great on resin!
Where did you buy it?? 😍 i'm looking for this on amazon but I can't find it!
The one that I have it says to mist the thinner liner with a little bit of water..
Wow
Hi from where you buy this big and beautiful molds
where can you buy the microwave flower dryer?

I just found your videos & I love them all. Where did you get your heart mold from? I can't find in Amazon from your list below...
She made the mold herself from a glass bowl she found at Goodwill
I don't know the temperature of microwave, and the purpose of the repeatings that you did to Microfleur ( opening and closing the fabric) ?
Left you a message on your IG! You should find a rainbow rose and do a piece with it! 😍😍
When you microwave these you should open the press each time and check for moisture on plastic. Wipe the moisture off and close back up and micro wave again each time cut the amount of time. When you open them and the is not any moisture they are finished.
