@@yogib37 Many fans and likely coaches believe Harris lacks that extra gear. Once he clears the line, he just can't break off 20 yard runs. This O-line combined with a more dynamic RB, could be the ticket to Steelers 7th Lombardi Trophy.
That secret word is 'could'. 1,000 yard per season RB who ran behind a shoddy line, I'll take every time and not gamble on what ifs. The 2 RB 1-2 punch they have now is great, especially since they upgraded the O-line and QB room.@@user-le1ve5ob6g

Just saying, if we want a good 2 back system, we just draft a running back next season in round 2-4. Running backs tend to have instant success and theres always several available
in today's game, the only way a running game is going to make a big impact is if you have a 1-2 threat to take the top off the defense. Look at the best offenses in the NFL. George Pickens isn't enough to force the D into favorable running looks.

In today's NFL it is a proven fact that you need 2 Good RB's. You don't want to wear down your RB1 to the point where he's not effective late in the Season and is injury prone. You Need Both Jaylen and Najee. I doubt if Jaylen can handle a bell cow season. It's not an effective Stragedy.

NH - Warren coughs the ball up too much, something Najee is exceptional at. He’s dependable and he’s shouldered so much for this team behind a questionable line. He is exactly what you want in a Pittsburgh Steelers running back and now we have what looks like a pretty good line.

By week 8 Fields will be the starter
I hope Fields is able to resurrect his career in Pittsburgh, but his record as a starting QB in the NFL isn't impressive (10-28). I just don't see why so many people are optimistic he can come in and immediately turn things around.
The QB the Steelers should have kept was Mason Rudolph, and I fear the Steelers are going to regret it.
Russ should do well, especially if he gets someone like Sutton or DK who he is familiar with, Arthur likes play action run game so Najee and Warren can set up the deep crossing routes to Pickens or DK/Sutton.
I think the Steelers will extend Najee mid season on a big signing bonus and low cap hit or look to the rookie class next year.. Extend Russ if he has a good year like i expect, not sure about Fields..
Also i think grabbing a vet like Gilmore or even bring back Cam Sutton, after the Highsmith restructure options are open

In the past 2 seasons, they have each fumbled 5 times. Obviously Harris has gotten more touches, but its close enough that shouldn't be a big factor

Signing Jalen over Nahee would be a huge mistake.
Jalen has the benefit of coming in to soell Najee when the defense is a little winded.
No surprise that najees 5th year option was declined. With the way the rb market has been it makes sense to let him play out his rookie deal and see if he's worth the 2nd contract. He could be the rb for years ro come, but don't be surprised if they decide to let him walk.

Saints fan here from PA, no chance Olave is getting traded when we don't have a WR2, I love what Khan is doing in the off-season and draft but Olave is a star on a rookie contract, even if we did strip it down Olave is the building block we build around.. Lattimore i think is staying but we will see around midseason after drafting Kool Aid, if hes unhappy then he could be dealt but I think they are going to keep him atleast this season..

Lately it seems like lazy journalism, Jarret Bailey is an idiot, terrible take, we were a 9-8 team who is finally healthy with Kubiak as the new OC, Loomis restructured so many contracts to be contenders and it was very disrespectful to ask us to tear it down when the Steelers have a great D and great GM but the offense is a bunch of cast offs.. Olave isn't happening, DK is only being tied to them bc of his connection with Russ, Deebo would take the rest of the cap space, if anyone I could see Courtland Sutton or maybe Zay Jones, Jakobi Meyers or Brandin Cooks but it's very lazy journalism to just put every WR out there with a possible connection to the Steelers.. Olave and DK aren't going anywhere, Deebo I doubt, better find Pickens a running mate
The Quinn Ewers prediction is terrible, I'm not a hater like Jarret Bailey and say Pittsburgh should just blow it up and rebuild, Khan has made some nice forward thinking moves and now I think Russ could have a comeback year and the running game will be the key under Arthur Smith.. Pittsburgh needs to play with a lead, let the pass rush pin their ears back and rush the QB.. If they can find a nice balance Pittsburgh could contend in a very good division
As for Najee I think the Steelers will pay Najee on a backloaded contract with a nice signing bonus and void years, Warren breaking out helps Najee extend his career, they are best as a tandem with both and Arthur Smith is going to run the ball.. Warren might be RB1 but I would keep both

I think they should just invest in a R1 or R2 WR in :25, and just get a serviceable asset this season. If a team wants to make a big trade I'd be for it for this season if it doesn't cost too much.

look, i love warren. hes my favorite current nfl player, got a jersey and everything. i think he has all the heart and grit in the world, and think hes much more talented than najee. you could even make an argument that warren has the best awareness of any ball carrier in the nfl. heres the thing, he only is this efficient BECAUSE najee is eating the load. look at what happened to pollard the second he was asked to start punching it on 3rd and 1 and stuff like that that zeke used to have to do. it didnt work because pollards 200lbs. warren is 5'8 and is a force, but hes not najee. najee had the most yards after contact in the nfl last year even over mccaffery so i think this was a mistake not giving him his 5th year. now instead of top 12 hes gonna get top 5+ after he gets 1500 yards on the ground this year. just you watch how arthur smith runs defenses into the ground with him like he did with henry. KEEP WARREN AND NAJEE TOGETHER!!!

Najee is the fourth leading rusher in the league over the past 3 years and Jaylen Warren is no way a better RB than Najee. Jaylen only gets his yards because he is a change of pace. You analyst need to stop hating on Najee. Warren would be a bust if he was the main back, he is not built to carry the ball 200+ times a season, Najee is. Getting rid of Najee expecting Jaylen Warren to carry the load by himself would be a huge mistake. Now if they can find a different 1A and would leave Warren as the change of pace, that might be different but this Jaylen Warren is better than Najee BS has to stop.
I love Russel Wilson, but Justin Fields will earn the starter spot based on Russ being older and can't move outside the pocket like he used to. Justin's potential is off the charts, just needs the right coordinator and system to unlock him. Just look how Russel struggled in 2022 with Hacketts system, but did better in Payton's in 2023.
But you don’t apply that logic to Russ getting better in 2024 in a new system.
