- We finally got to test my newest scooter a 1996 Yamaha JOG. We also ditched that huge usa spec tailight for a nice euro spec one and it looks awesome!

I just got a BWS Yamaha zuma 2005 with a 70cc malossi kit ncy pipe and a lot of cvt work done

I'm not sure about the Jog, but the horizontal Minarelli on the Vino is the good one.
It has larger reed valve petals, an angled reed block with a stuffer, and trenched cases, all from the factory. All these things improve performance. I have a factory Vino reed block and a factory bugeye reed block and I've been thinking about making a video comparing them. I also have a good set of Vino cases. Wanted to do a build on them, but I'll probably never get around to it. No dough you know

coming from a chineese gy6 scooter to a yamaha jog artistic spec was the best disission ive made its such a amazing and good looking scooter the power band on them even in stock form always suprises me there minnareli engines are very customizable so even putting 300 bucks in it will probably make it power wheelie its all in all the scooter is a 10/10 for me those mirrors would make it pop too because its the more good looking model since its imported from japan
Do simple bolt ons, cp17, street pipe, vari with a clutch and belt she'll haul and still be solid and reliable. Stock bores are really fun when you open em up
Yes the minarelli horizontal short block is faster than the newer minarelli hori blocks like under the Aerox, Neos, Beta ark etc.
My first scooter was a Jog from 98 which was more wilder than the Aerox, neos, Beta ark, Malaguti f12 and Benelli 491, Italjet dragster i owned who have the latest minarelli horizontal long blocks.
Sometimes i still think about the fun i had on that Jog, still regrets i sold it and not kept it for ever.

I have this same scooter but white and purple. Currently rebuilding the crank got a 70cc set up for it. 792 belt/polini hi speed variator w 4,5 dr pulley sliders its fast hitting 65mph. Before i seized.

Honestly I'd say keep the Jog simple and do a fast 70 setup on it, similar to the "true 72" setups on the elites. Then build the F12 out like you said

Yeah, JOGs were always considered a "Mid-Range" scooter from Yamaha, especially in the JDM market. The Gentsuki culture embraced them though, so you can find some cool styling parts for them, especially the first-gen "Pelican" JOG. I've seen some cool builds; I agree, keep it on a more mild tune, lower it, add some styling if you can find the body parts. Make it a JDM bosozoku cruiser; You don't have one of those yet! That's just my opinion though, Even as it sits it looks sick!

I have the same bike, purple wheels but couldn't find the purple plastics. It's my favorite of my whole fleet. I've got a dio, 2 elites, a typhoon, and a zuma swapped spree. The jog is by far my favorite. It's got a mild build and still does 95km/h without gears.

i think, to make that jog you should put a LC cylinder and a 70 maybe 100cc race setup. We in denmark looove the yamaha jog and we heavy heavy tune it if we can affort it as teens:) im building one myself over winter rn

You should put the same type of pipe that is on the phantom f12 and the zuma on the jog you could buy one already made or self weld is pretty loud
