- The 2019 Ford F-150 is hitting dealer showrooms. With many different trim levels and options, where does the F-150 Lariat EcoBoost slot in to that lineup? Check out the wonderful features that makes the Ford F-150 one of the best selling trucks in America.

My wife took over my 2017 XLT Sport when we sold her car...so i just picked up a fully loaded 2020 Lariat...love it!

Those antennas have dual functions. They're used as a height marker for entering low roofed structures, such as parking garages. Ford isn't the only manufacturer that uses them either. Raiti, there's 8 anchors in that truck bed. How many exactly do you need? Also, why does everyone complain about the plastic interior trim. That plastic is durable, easy to clean and cheap to replace. What more as a consumer do you want? I don't want to hear nothing about soft touch on the dash. You're not sitting on it, why does it have to be soft? Soft dash is a pain in the ass anyway. Refer to the vinyl dashes used from the 70s all the way through the 90s. They cracked, they tore, they flaked and they crumbled into dust. If I'm paying $50-60,000 for something, I don't care how soft something I don't touch is, I care that it lasts! Hard plastic is just fine by me.

King Daniel I couldn't agree more with you, most people who complain want it both ways it just doesn't happen. If my door panels were soft materials on my 17 escape they would be destroyed by now just from getting in and out of the vehicle. So good comment
I'm waiting for 2021 Ford F150 XLT release. I actually owned a 2018 Ford F150 XLT with 2.7 V6 it's a very smooth and quick engine and has a very good MPG.

Just bought a 2019 f150 lariat with the 2.7, leadfoot grey with the black on black interior with the light grey accents n metal finish, i must say the grey plastic looks much better with the black, and i have the 501A sport package, overall an absolutely beautiful truck, love it!

Why am I watching this when I can barely afford an XLT? Lol. On a side note, a year ago I test drove a regular cab (yeah they still make them) XLT with the 2.7 engine. That was the fastest truck I've ever drove or rode in. I mean head snapping quick. Ford has become the leader on turbo engines, hands down.

I bought almost this same truck about 6 weeks ago, but I have the black interior instead of the tan. I upgraded from a 2012 and I'm very happy with it so far. It was the only color I could find in a Lariat that didn't have a sunroof when I was looking.

I like this truck. I don’t care if the truck has the best speaker system or not. All i care is safety. Even the base model has automatic emergency breaking. How cool the center console doesn’t matter for me if the vehicle does not protect you from collisions. I also looked at the iihs ratings for f-150 and it is great. I hope i can afford to buy a new one soon 😎

That Silver Spruce is the bomb, and those twenty inch wheels are a perfect match! I can overlook the antenna and the single exhaust.
I’m with you on the zonks. That mast antenna takes it back 10 years and needs to go. Dual exhaust with a little more rumble would be nice. My zonk is the blocky interior and the light color with the brown. I don’t like that brown, especially with a silver exterior. Black with some gray or silver, or even carbon fiber would look better in my opinion, but I’m not a designer.

Totally agree on antenna! I have a 2018 F-150 Platinum and took mine off. Never listen to over-the-air radio so don't need the antenna.
I replaced mine with short one from Autozone. They do work.
38K in my lowly STX Crew 4WD with the 2.7, love this truck and engine, will do 20.4 in town and just recently got 24.17 on a 300+ mile trip to King William Virginia. It will absolutely fly if you need it to. I call it my giant pony car, wife loves it to.

Joe, on a higher optioned 150, would at least a retractable antenna be part of the package? Seems like the available retractable running boards would cost a lot more than an antenna. Then again, our "logic" certainly doesn't always track with the manufacturer's.

Hey Joe! Beautiful truck! I like the way Ford keeps the chrome in balance on the front end. Why not a simulated wood grain finish on that plastic trim, it would be great with that interior color. Just a thought. Great as always guys.

Ford uses an excessively long antenna, longer than other manufacturers. I had to swap mine out for a shorter one (still taller than the cab) because it would whack my garage door both in and out everyday. (Truck has plenty of clearance in my door).

Another excellent review. I second what another subscriber just said, that I hope the manufacturers are watching your videos to see how they can improve their designs. If you didn't point it out, I wouldn't have seen that it could be done better, but I'm almost universally in agreement with your suggestions.
I'd like to see a review of the Dodge Ram and how you would rate it against the F-150. Their top of the line truck just beat Ford and Chevy for truck of the year.

Those antennas still work better than the "modern" ones.
Bed liners aren't standard for those who want a custom bed liner and not have to pay for the removal of the factory one.

The wheel fenders makes the 20" tires more appealing! The 2017 Lariat, 18" tires makes it look like a cheap old man's truck!! The interior is smooth, regardless of the plastic parts. But I cant deny my feelings. While I was sitting in my father's, 2017 Lariat, bluetoothing, my phone 2 the infotainment system. The real came out! Ever since he bout the first one in 2001. Man, when I say I fell hard I'm not kidding! I took it 2 Muncie, Indiana and that was it! The only other vehicle I want next 2 the F150, is the Camaro! Only reason why I'm working, is 2 have 1 of these big babies in my name!!! If you do another F150 video? Display the infotainment system. I want to see if there is an upgrade 2 the radio.

Wish you could get this color on the highest 3 trim levels. Not sure why they stopped at the lariat for this color. Nice video i agree that the tan looks nice with the exterior especially since it’s a greenish silver. You should do a video demonstration of the driver assistance features of the f150 like adaptive cruise, lane keep, auto parking, etc.

Raiti's Rides great! Please also do a video comparing the f150 to the new expedition in terms of how each drive and handle. Theyre pretty similar but i’d be interested to see the differences and if the expedition has a better ride with its independent rear suspension.

Nice review Joe! I just brought mine home after looking at the Tundra (12 mpg...really?) and the Silverado (disappointing tech and boring interior)...Not a Ram guy so wasn't in the mix, and was looking at the Nissan, but NO folding mirrors which I needed (guy actually told me they were way behind in tech like that). All in all, I can't believe how well Ford has done the tech. Agree with bedliner zonk, which is pretty standard now on most trucks.
I personally think the turbo boost is a good engine and gets me going without a load. Not sure with a load, but I'm not hauling a lot so not a big concern for me. Cockpit is awesome and with everything this comes with (AC/Heated seats for Houston summers). Also, back to tech...when I...Me...Mr. idiot with tech, can pull out my phone, touch the screen twice and be playing music from my phone...wow, well done Ford.
Finally, the space I have in that back seat is just crazy. I can literally store all my 3-gun equipment behind the front seats without even using the bed!

It's just a different tune of the engine.
Do you know if the FX4 package will have a smooth ride even in the city and on highways or is the suspension stiffer?
It's on the stiffer side but still manageable.
It feels exactly the same
Just got it last week and I am very pleased with how smooth it is. (Although I can't compare it to the regular suspension as I haven't tested that one out). But the FX4 on a Lariat trim with 20" wheels... super satisfied with it!

Raiti, i am happy that bedliners are still an option as i dont wish to be required to pay for it. These new trucks are expensive enough as it is. Also u will find many differing views bout liner tyypes among truck owners and among different truck usages.

On center steering sucks. Constant adjustment is needed. Seats not as comfortable as 2014 seats. Steering wheel blocks speedometer. Brakes are superb. Door lock switch is idiotic. Horn sounds like came off a prius. Rear tailgate has no lip to grab on. 10 speed tranny annoyingly busy. Engines are stellar. Ride worse than a 2012 to 14. Aluminum is nice but scratches easier than steel in bed amd tailgate.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy Ford trucks again. They have oil consumption issues and tell their customers it’s “normal.” I have a 2018 and it has tons of issues and Ford has no fix for any of them. Love the body of the truck, but it’s junk underneath. 40 grand and it eats oil and sounds like a dump truck. I’m done with them.

All I have to say is the new Silverado and Camaro is hideous. Even Daewoo looks better than what GM is designing these days. 2500 hd is so ugly that GM needs to fire the person who gave the green light on that one. GM needs to reach in the past and bring back legendary cars Grand National, Typhoon, Avalanche and Chevelle 454 with a real back seat to have a chance.

There are 3 major zonks for me the first being the engines the V8 is to small and the V6 ecoboost still not powerful enough and I don’t care what you say or do there is no getting around the fact that it sounds like a swarm of angry bees there is no replacement for displacement and that V8 while good for a family car with that 5 liter it is not enough for a truck I would rather see a 390 minimum the next zonk is the body a truck needs to be steel not aluminum and the 3rd would be the placement of the shifter if you get one with the console and bucket seats I don’t like the shifter being on the console I know there are those that do but make that an option also this engine auto start stop crap again not for me a truck is meant for work and to have fun off-road it is not supposed to replace the family sedan or S. U. V. sure keep the crew cab but don’t turn it into something that a truck is not

I disagree 100% Love the ecoboost. It smokes V8s. Love the cargo room and space. Love the fuel economy. Love the interior. With the right exhaust and a decent tune it sounds like a baby cummins diesel. Exhaust note stock is my only complaint, but that's easily fixed. Great thing about these trucks is you can get whatever setup you want.

Not into the modern lariats. Too much chrome and the interior isnt to my taste. I think the interior for lariats is the ugliest interior ford makes for their trucks, and also typically no column shifter. Ew! I have a 2018 xlt, and i think the xlt is the perfect truck. Its not overly luxorious, just the right amount of chrome, no unecessary features. I have the 3.5l ecoboost. Great engine, but i wish it was louder. Also i love how f150s still have an antenna.

Have one with small v6….first of all none of the fenders, hood, doors, are magnetic so aluminum, don’t know…the running boards with the rubber cleats collect all the dirt, mud, and debris pulled mine off and replaced with a solid rubber mat instead. The overall build of the truck, but plastic is extensive and somewhat obtrusive. Working on the engine is terrible, dipstick located by the firewall, are you kidding me, ford never has designed or engineered their vehicles to be easy to work on by the customer. Remember from the 60s onward the old saying..”ford, found on the road dead”….and this sales pitch is way overboard.
Wtf Ford. You make the sensors front and sides body colored but then make the rear sensors black.... match the bumper color. Even on the packages that have a body colored bumper, the rear sensors are still black. Fire the designer.
Fords are all fun and games till the ecoboost blows up

If you want all your parts gummed up, you get an Ecoboost!! Get a V8!! You want more power than that piece of crap Ecoboost, you get a supercharger on that V8! This is America! V8 in a half ton!
