Why you not use displacement map for texture ?

Fantastic! I have a question that has stopped me completely haha when you select the eye with the pen tool and then create a selection what keys do you press next to have the eye copied (if that’s what you did)

After Closing the path go and switch directly to the Paths panel , then hold down CTRL key on the keyboard and click on the thumbnail of the layer of the path to turn it into selection , then switch back to Layers panel and make sure the layer of the real stone statue is selected then tap CTRL + X to Cut the Eye , then create a new layer and tap CTRL + V to paste the eye..

I'm so surprised that he wasn't using masks when erasing. Isn't that destructive?
I thought so too but I've been able to do most of this using masks instead. Any time I come up against something without a non-destructive solution I've copy/pasted my progress so I can go back to that point if i need to - still, an incredible tutorial!
another solution is CTRL + J to duplicate a layer before editing on it and keep it hidden as a save

The luminance tab under noise reduction isn't showing up on my current version of photoshop. Anybody know where to find it?

@@ShawnIsAwesome Adobe Photoshop is fastly changing after each update so , You can compensate the "Luminance" parameter by the "Clarity" or the "Texture" parameters which are available in the "Camera Raw Filter" in the first tab.

At 6:18 how did you add that eye out of nowhere onto the layer
first i've imported the photo by dragging it and dropping it inside photoshop then i've used the pen tool to create a selection around the eye then , we go to the paths panel then hold CTRL key on the keyboard and click the path layer thumbnail to convert the path into selection then while the layer is selected we tap CTRL+X to cut the eye from the layer then we create a new layer then we tap CTRL+V to paste the eye in the new layer

HOW DID U DELETE THE BACKGROUND. WHAT DID U CLICK WHAT IT WAS SELECTED
you tap the delete key on the keyboard / Del then tap CTRL+D to deselect
so in the video he selects the background
go ahead and inverse the selection (right click then the second option)
hit ctrl+j and hide the layer below it
why is there no camera raw filter in my psd???
because your psd is outdated

Excuse me, what? Statues have no "color"... statues are made out of marble, what kind of question is this?
Starting with a black and white image is kind of cheating, don't you think?
a grayscale photo is what needed for this kind of photo manipulation , even if you have a colorful image we should desaturate it first. !
even my toddler can turn a photo grey lol
If you can edit photos I think you can turn a photo grayscale lol
What is cheating is that this only works on people with light skin so he conveniently chose a white woman
That's the point I was getting at. Not about desaturation, but were convenient images chosen.
You could've left her eyes, blocking out just the iris... the lips are still grey...
It would be better if you worked non-destructively using masks etc.
Just remember as a *PSA* ANNOUNCEMENT DONT BLINK. WHAT EVER YOU DO... DONT. BLINK.

what was the point if you skipped over brush settings we really had to slow this down because you left out the important details i hate when this happens they teach but skip over the important details for you to actually learn
sorry about that , honestly this tutorial is made for intermidiate photoshop users that already know the basics , but just to let you know there isn't that much things you've missed there are just 3 parameters to control the brush ( the size , the hardness , and the opacity ) and nothing else.
