This was my mother's favorite song!! She passed away this past Sunday. When my father passed away almost 14 months ago, she turned me onto Blackmore's Night, specifically this song. I have been going back to their songs many many times when I need to find strength and knowing mom and dad loved this group, listening to them brings me comfort. Love you mom and dad. Thank you Blackmore's Night.

Yes the first group I was into was deep purple back in the 70s and I have always admired the way Richie plays, but now blackmore’s night are my favourite band and candice has a really good voice they go well together and it is magical

I think Dio said it best, "lots of people are very talented, but they don't know what to do with that talent." They can play almost anything, but they don't know what to play. That's what puts Blackmore in a class all his own. Not only is he one of the greatest guitarist/musician/composers of all time, but he still knows what to do with it, which is not easy in today's world.
I completely agree. Until I found Blackmore's Night here, I'd forgotten what an incredible guitarist Ritchie Blackmore is. Shame on me.
This song's melody comes from a medieval song called Stella Splendens, one of my faves from that period. It perfectly fits the metal version Blackmore's Night created here. I always say that medieval music is metal without electric guitars!

I've followed this man since the late 60s.i love how people go on about him being moody 🤣🤣🤣. I'm a musician, we are all bloody moody. But he is a genius and she is a goddess.
