Candice's voice and Richie's strings truly are a duet. One of the things I like best about Blacmore's Night orchestration is that every instrument (and voice) is given its part in the entire sound. There is balance here that works so very well.
It's incredible how the music industry works. Talk about underrated masters of their craft like Blackmore and overrated players like Clapton who was great at one time but has produced nothing of note recently. Blackmore's work has spoken for itself for close to 40-50 years. Let that sink in.

Love blackmore, but Clapton isn't overrated. He is one of the best guitarists. The fact he doesn't produce anymore is another story, although he did lots of amazing covers under COVID (like black magic woman). If we talk overrated bullshit then why not bring the elephant into the room and say Metallica? Hatfield, and the whole gang. They have some decent songs but they're the most overrated generic shit. And let's not even talk about lars....highest paid, worst drummer ever.
There's lots of unappreciated talent out there. Look at the German hard rock/metal band Scorpion's own guitarist, Uli Jon Roth. Absolutely amazing player. Check out sails of Charon. Nobody knows him.
It's less to do with talent and more about exposure. Musicians who tangle with other high class musicians and have beef /drama around them usually are more known.

У меня произошло наоборот, лет 15 назад решил поискать, что играет Блэкмор после Rainbow и случайно попал на эту композицию. Испытал "культурный шок" от красоты и "кружев" музыки.
А меня подсадили на блакеморис сектанты Мунна. Они там по такому фолку тащщились. Секту бросил, - музыку никогда.

This track and album came at a good time for me back in the late 1990`s. The music scene was in a bad place and it was just so good to hear this with so much shallow stuff knocking about the charts back then. Shadow of the Moon is a VERY special album!
I could not agree more. Most of the top music in the 90’s wasn’t that great. I remember seeing this cd in the store. Two things got my attention. First was Blackmore of course then the artwork. I hadn’t heard nothing from it. It was a blind buy. Boy was I surprised. I’ve bought every album since.

I remember first seeing this video on a music CD kiosk at a K-mart store. The kiosk had a screen where it would play snippets of videos and the CDs were displayed below the screen. When I saw the video for this song, I was instantly hooked and bought the CD and I've seen Blackmore's Night in concert. K-mart is long gone but I still have the CD and the music lives on!
I just woke up from a really vivid dream about a blackmore's night song that doesn't actually exist. I almost cried when I lost the lyrics, until I remembered real songs could fill the missing spot in my heart.

Blackmore and Knight are a phenomenal collaboration- Ritchie was brilliant to take this turn musically - although he always had one foot in Renaissance/Medieval. Every one of their albums has great tracks on it. Candice Knight has a unique and beautiful voice.
He came up with the 'Smoke on the Water' riff by playing the opening to the 'Fifth of Beethoven' backwards.
What an amazingly rich and vibrant production. Wow! Trully magical.

When was a young man in the 70s Deep purple was my favourite band along with Led Zep. They are still amazing, however, the fact that Ritchie can diversify says so much about his talent! Candice is not bad either!!!

Im not sure what sort of Magic(k) was employed in this recording but it absolutely demolishes my feelings whenever i hear it. - I've loved it ever since it came out and it still retains the same impact as that first time. - I was introduced to Blackmores Night by friends in a sort of 'haha ritchie thinks he's Blackadder now,.. lets all laugh and point at his mincing minstrel music' sort of way,.. but when i heard it, it hit me RIGHT in the heart, and now i'll defend it, shirtless in a thunderstorm on top of a mountain with my bare fists.

oldfield is the best in the world and noone talks about it have you ever heard i.e. eddie trunk even slightly mention his ever-lasting influence on all rock music NOPE --Iwould also attribute things to noone writing material for press releases and or stories the same way michael schenker mgmt never write anything for him thereby making said artist "just" a cult following
